5 Big Phone Launches Coming In June 2025
OnePlus 13s
The big OnePlus 13s launch is finally here and on June 5 we will finally get more details about its compact flagship phone. The company has revealed a lot of features about the phone, including the colour options, OnePlus AI features, the new Plus Key and the hardware that will be powering the device.
The OnePlus 13s is likely to feature a 6.32-inch display which makes it the ideal compact device with powerful credentials. The company has not told us more about the OnePlus 13s specifications but the flat design and the square-ish camera module hints at a dual sensor system like the 13T which should have a telephoto lens.
A recent leak revealed that the OnePlus 13s launch price in India could start at Rs 50,000 and $649 for people in the US. We'll get all the details early next month.
The gaming side of the GT 30 Pro includes dual capacitive shoulder GT triggers that can be remapped for different features. You also have the RGB lighting on the back panel which adds the X-factor for the device.
The phone gets a 108MP primary camera along with an 8MP ultra-wide lens at the back. The GT 30 Pro packs a 5,500mAh battery that supports 45W wired 30W wireless charging speed. We expect the Infinix GT 30 Pro price in India to be around Rs 25,000 once again.
Vivo T4 Ultra
We haven't heard much about the T4 Ultra but reports suggest Vivo will be launching this mid-range phone in the first week of June. The device is expected to come with a MediaTek Dimensity 9000 series chipset, feature an OLED display and carry a triple rear camera setup that could include a 50MP periscope telephoto lens.
The T4 Ultra should also have a 6,000mAh+ battery and support for 80W or higher charging speed. Expect the Vivo T4 Ultra to launch priced around Rs 32,000.
Poco F7
Poco F-series could move beyond the F7 Ultra model with the launch of the F7 variant tipped for June 2025. This will most likely be a global launch where we could see the base F7 model line up alongside the premium versions.
Reports say Poco will be using the new Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 chipset to power the device, offer a 1.5K OLED display and come packing a mammoth 7,550mAh battery in some regions. Poco F7 price should be around Rs 35,000 in the market.
Motorola Edge 60
Motorola is another brand that is adding new products in a hurry and reports say the Edge 60 model could be the latest in its lineup next month. This device is likely to sport a quad-curved display, powered by the Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 chipset and pack a 6,000mAh battery with 68W charging speed on offer.

Goodbye to change: QR code ticket payment on tech zone route buses

1 2 3 Kolkata: The perennial problem over loose change may soon be a thing of the past with several bus owners providing UPI payment options to their passengers. The latest to introduce this system are four buses plying between Barasat and Santragachhi and the Botanic Garden, both of which cater to passengers of Sector V and New Town. They have introduced a digital payment system on buses to address the issue of change, said owners. QR codes are provided inside the buses, allowing passengers to easily pay fares via UPI interface or Google Pay. According to the bus owners, all vehicles on this route will implement the digital payment system in the future if the trials are successful. A total of 38 private buses operate on the Barasat to Howrah Shibpur B Garden route. Bus owners report that conductors face issues due to the lack of change daily. "To obtain change, they have to pay a commission, which costs Rs 150 for Rs 1,500 worth of change, leading to significant expenses. As a result, owners are turning to digital payments as an alternative," said a conductor. One of the owners, Gopal Nandi, operates two buses on the B Garden-Barasat route. A few months ago, he pasted QR code stickers on the buses for digital payments. Another owner, Biltu Das, followed the same path, reducing the hassle for bus staff. Single buses on several other routes — like DN 16/1 (Dhamakhali to Barasat), Mourigram-Salt Lake minibus and 56 (Ruiya Purbapara-Howrah) — had introduced UPI payment in 2023 but the facility was eventually discontinued. "We found that most passengers on our route travel to Sector V, New Town and Rajarhat offices. Most of them prefer not to carry cash, let alone coins. As such, we often get into arguments over payment of fares. Now that we have introduced UPI payment, the conductor just needs to check his phone for confirmation of payment. This also saves time in issuing tickets. However, since not everyone uses cashless mode of payment, the old system will continue," explained a staffer on the Barasat route. The move was welcomed by multiple passengers who even posted the payment method on Kolkata Bus-o-pedia, an FB forum of bus lovers. "I was heading towards Karunamoyee from Exide. I had to pay a fare of Rs 18. But I had a Rs 100 note in my pocket. The conductor asked me for change but I did not have any. Then he simply said that I can pay through UPI. I was amazed to use it," recalled the passenger on FB. "Nice initiative. More buses need to implement this UPI payment system," said Supriyo Nandi. "It was introduced a few years back at Bangalore bus services… In fact, a few days back I paid a Toto through UPI. So why not use it in buses," said another passenger Sandipan Ghosh. Aniket Banerjee, general secretary of Kolkata Bus-o-pedia, said that the system needs to be regimented. "The QR code needs to be framed so that it cannot be misused," he said.

ECR unveils AI-based system to boost train safety

Patna: General manager of East Central Railway (ECR), Chhatrasal Singh, on Friday inaugurated an advanced AI-based system at Ara coaching depot under Danapur division to modernise railway maintenance. Danapur DRM Jayant Kumar Choudhary said the system automates coach cleaning and water refilling, while smart sensors detect alarm chain pulling (ACP) and other anomalies. "AI integration will boost monitoring, safety and passenger comfort," he added. "The AI-based system, a first in Indian Railways, marks a major step toward cleaner, safer, and more efficient services," said Singh. Danapur ADRM Aadhar Raj, credited with developing the system, said a live demo was successfully tested on the Ara-Durg South Bihar Express. "The device alerts staff or control rooms to issues like fire, brake binding, hot axle, water shortage, foul odour, ACP, and coach breakdowns via ultrasonic sensors," he said. Initially, all rakes of eight long-distance trains from Ara will be equipped, followed by wider implementation across ECR. Each device costs Rs 1 lakh, and fitting an entire 24-coach rake costs Rs 24 lakh. The system was developed by a Danapur team over the past year. Singh announced a Rs 1 lakh cash reward for the team.
