
Where to brunch in SF this Easter Sunday
Easter is almost upon us, and that means a plethora of brunch specials and egg hunts.
If you're looking to go out for Easter brunch this year, here are a few places to check out.
🦞 MKT at Four Seasons Hotel on Market Street is offering a buffet-style brunch on Sunday featuring fresh seafood, carving stations and decadent desserts alongside breathtaking skyline views. Kids' activities will include face painting, balloon twisting and more.
Tickets are $190 for adults and $80 for children under 12.
🥑 The Vault Garden on California Street will serve a three-course brunch menu concocted by chef Ryan Cerizo, starting at 11am. Dishes include salmon rillettes and truffle deviled eggs.
Tickets are $65 for adults and $25 for kids.
🧇 Cavallo Point in Sausalito, set at the foot of the Golden Gate Bridge, will host a brunch buffet highlighting locally sourced produce at 10am and 1pm in the Callippe Ballroom. It will include an omelet and scramble bar, mini waffle bar and kid-friendly options.
Tickets are $168 per person if bought in advance, $178 per person at the door and $75 per child (ages 4-12).
🍝 Montesacro in SOMA will bring you authentic Italian flavors with a four-course tasting menu crafted by chef Anna Piazza, featuring classic Roman flavors, seasonal ingredients and Pinsa. Reservations are available noon-8pm.
Tickets are $60 per person with a $40 optional wine pairing.
🎹 Top of the Mark at the InterContinental Mark Hopkins on California Street will set out an Easter buffet with gorgeous views of the Bay Area, curated seasonal delights, fresh seafood extravaganza and live piano music. The Easter Bunny will also stop by for a visit!
Seating times are 10am, 10:30am, 2pm and 2:30pm. Tickets are $249.90 for adults and $89 for children 4-12.
⛲️ The Garden Court of the Palace Hotel in FiDi offers an opulent buffet brunch at three seating times that each last two hours.
🥩 International Smoke in downtown promises a memorable brunch experience 11am-6pm with dishes that celebrate the season's flavors, ranging ranging from black truffle caesar to picanha steak and eggs.

American Airlines flight to Naples forced to reroute because plane was too big for runaway
A Naples-bound American Airlines flight was forced to reroute some 140 miles away because it was too big for the runway — forcing passengers to take a three-hour bus ride to their final destination. American Airlines Flight 780 was carrying 231 passengers to the Italian city on June 2 when the plane made an abrupt diversion over the Tyrrhenian Sea just 40 miles from its destination, according to FlightAware tracking data. Italian child actor Enzo Staiola, best known for playing, at the age of 9 years old, the sad-faced son Bruno Ricci in Vittorio De Sica's 1948 Neo-realist masterpiece Ladri di Biciclette (Bicycle Thieves), has died. Born on Nov. 15, 1939 in Rome, Staiola in a July 2023 interview with La Repubblica recalled first meeting De Sica, the celebrated Italian director, who apparently saw him walking home from school. 'I was coming back from school and at a certain point I noticed this big car following me at walking pace,' Staiola explained. 'Then this gentleman with gray hair, all dressed up, got out and asked me: 'What's your name?', and I was silent. And he said: 'But don't you talk?' 'I don't feel like talking,' I replied. My mother always told me not to be too familiar if someone stopped us… But De Sica followed me home. My parents recognized him right away. He was a famous actor. He sat at the table in our house and tried to convince them to let me act in his new film. But they didn't want to.' Staiola eventually got the part of Bruno without having to audition after his uncle took him down to De Sica's studio to be reintroduced. Despite the success of Bicycle Thieves, which won the Academy Award for best foreign film, Staiola never worked again with the famed Italian director. 'De Sica was like that; he discovered you and then that was it. Maybe if he had followed me and made me other proposals I would have become an actor for life,' he recalled in the 2023 interview. Staiola, after his breakout role in Bicycle Thieves (sometimes known by the title The Bicycle Thief), went on to star in a few other movies, including Joseph L Mankeiwicz's The Barefoot Contessa drama in 1954, which also starred Humphrey Bogart and Ava Gardner. His credits included 1950s Italian movies like Hearts Without Borders, Vulcano, Guilt is Not Mine and A Tale of Five Women. And he had a small part in 1977 in Flavio Mogherini's The Girl in the Yellow Pyjamas. But Staiola after early success retreated from film sets and became a mathematics teacher and a longtime clerk in a land registry office. And he appears to have regretted becoming an Italian movie star. 'In the end, it was a real pain in the ass,' he told La Repubblica. 'As a kid I could never play with my friends because if I made a mark on my face I couldn't make movies anymore. Then it was also a bit boring, the times of cinema are very long.'
