Cher's son has been rushed to hospital after suffering an overdose
The 79-year-old pop icon is mother to Elijah Blue Allman, 48, with her late ex-husband Gregg Allman, and on Sunday (15.06.25), it was reported that he had been taken to a California hospital the day before.
Sources told TMZ that Elijah is "still in the hospital and receiving the best care possible" but the outlet is unaware of what kind of drugs he had been using prior to the incident.
Insiders also explained that the Believe hitmaker - who is also mother to Chaz, 56, with her late first husband Sonny Bono - is "doing everything she can to get him the help he needs" and that her "only concern right now is for her son's well-being" at this moment in time.
In recent years, the Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again star had been seeking to put Elijah - who is also a musician - into a conservatorship, but decided to drop the case towards the end of last year after they came to an agreement.
Court documents revealed the development months after Cher's request for conservatorship over her son was denied by a judge in Los Angeles.
At the time, the singer had filed an emergency request for Elijah to be placed under a temporary emergency conservatorship – claiming she 'feared that her son would not be alive within the year'.
Cher's lawyers cited his treatment for schizoaffective disorder and revealed that in the past year he has been placed in several 5150s – a California legal code which allows a person with a mental illness to be involuntarily detained for a 72-hour psychiatric hospitalisation.
A judge ruled against the proposal as Elijah proved he had 'managed his finances', has an apartment and 'remained drug free' after submitting 'several drug tests' during the proceedings.
The judge also ruled there was not 'sufficient evidence' to agree to the temporary conservatorship, as much of what the mum and son were arguing was based on 'fears' and hypotheticals.
Elijah previously revealed that he started using drugs when he was just 11 years old and came close to overdosing several times.
In 2014, he told Entertainment Tonight: "I did have some close calls and some moments of really feeling at the edge of mortality ... I always kind of kept it a little bit safe but you never can do that.""

Sky told fans on Instagram at the time he was recovering from the 'intense surgery with a long and layered healing process'. She said the operation had also affected his vocal cords and required breathing and feeding tubes. Sky added: 'He's healing and we're taking it one day at a time with love, strength, and patience." Speaking about his regret over their rift, Bubba told TMZ: 'I'm heartbroken to hear of Terry's passing. As everyone knows we had our issues and those issues were mostly my fault. I loved him as a friend while he was with us, and will continue to love his memory as a friend going forward."

Jamie Lee Curtis is "very excited" about her new Murder, She Wrote movie. The actress will step into the shoes of Dame Angela Lansbury to play mystery writer-turned-amateur detective Jessica Fletcher in a new film based on the long-running TV show of the same name and Jamie has admitted she can't wait to start filming on the project. Jazz icon Chuck Mangione dead aged 84
Chuck Mangione, the legendary jazz musician behind the international hit single Feels So Good, has died aged 84. Born Charles Frank Mangione in 1940 in Rochester, New York, he died at home of natural causes, his manager told TMZ. He reflected on his approach to music in 1972, saying: 'For a long time I lived in the shell of the so–called jazz musician, who said, 'To hell with the people. I'm the artist, I know what's right, and I'm going to play for myself. If they like it, fine; if they don't, too bad.' 'Well, that's partially true, but you can still maintain your musical conviction and try to communicate with people. 'For me, lifting the people up, making them enjoy what we're doing is as important as it is for me to play the kind of music I want to play. Both are very possible.' A trumpet and flugelhorn player, Mangione studied at Rochester's Eastman School of Music, known for its jazz programme. He began his career in the 1960s performing with his pianist brother, Gap Mangione, and joined Art Blakey's Jazz Messengers as a trumpeter before emerging as a star in his own right. Chuck's career breakthrough came in the 1970s, when he formed a jazz quartet with saxophonist Gerry Niewood. His 1977 album Feels So Good propelled him to international fame. The album included the full nine-minute version of the instrumental title track, which reached number two on the Billboard 200. A shorter, three-minute single released the following year also became a major success. Over his decades-long career, Chuck won two Grammy Awards. He received his first Grammy in 1977 for the instrumental composition Bellavia and another for his work on the soundtrack of the 1978 Anthony Quinn film The Children of Sanchez, for which he also composed the score. Chuck's compositions featured in two Olympic ceremonies – Chase the Clouds Away at the 1976 Montreal Summer Olympics and Give It All You Got as the theme for the 1980 Winter Olympics in Lake Placid, New York.
