Holly Rowe: "Who else can score for you right now? Where do those points come from?"

South Carolina was this close to repeating as women's college basketball national champions. But in the end, Dawn Staley's dynamic group simply couldn't overcome Geno Auriemma's Connecticut Huskies to go back-to-back.
In fact, other than perhaps the opening tip and first few minutes, Sunday's 82-59 national title game loss to UConn was never all that competitive.
Such is life. Such is sports.
Arguably, the biggest reason South Carolina couldn't make it a more competitive affair was its struggling offense. The Gamecocks shot just 34.4 percent from the field and only 25 percent from 3-point land. Eleven sloppy turnovers didn't help matters as a focused UConn took advantage and took South Carolina apart in the process. It sure felt like the Gamecocks just ran out of steam at the worst time.
At the start of the fourth quarter, you could start to tell Staley was resigned to the first national title game defeat of her coaching career. When ESPN's Holly Rowe asked how South Carolina could fix its offense to attempt a rally, Staley sounded exasperated, claiming she didn't really have an answer or see an easy remedy mid-game for her group.
Oof:
When the opposing coach is talking like that, you know you've done something right if you were in the position UConn was in.

Clemson vs. South Carolina 2025 game time announced, reactions to the early time slot

Clemson vs. South Carolina 2025 game time announced, reactions to the early time slot The kickoff time is set for Clemson's regular-season finale against rival South Carolina. The Tigers and Gamecocks will meet at noon on Friday, Nov. 29 at Williams-Brice Stadium in Columbia, with the game airing on either ABC or ESPN. It's the third time in the past four years the Palmetto Bowl will be played at noon. Clemson will look to bounce back from last year's 17-14 loss at home, a game that ended the Tigers' seven-game win streak in the rivalry. Dabo Swinney's team will also aim to continue its road dominance in Columbia, where Clemson has won five straight dating back to 2015. With a win, the Tigers would secure six straight victories at South Carolina for the first time since a stretch from 1989 to 1999. The Gamecocks haven't beaten Clemson at home since 2013, and the Tigers will be eager to keep it that way this fall. Along with the announcement of the game time came reactions. Like last year, people are mixed on the noon game. Contact us @Clemson_Wire on X, and like our page on Facebook for ongoing coverage of Clemson Tigers news and notes, plus opinions.

Angel Reese's Unexpected Gesture Catches Attention During Sky-Liberty Game

Angel Reese's Unexpected Gesture Catches Attention During Sky-Liberty Game originally appeared on Athlon Sports. The Chicago Sky's game against the New York Liberty got prime-time treatment on ESPN Tuesday night in Barclays Center. Advertisement That meant a 30-minute "WNBA Countdown" before the game, veteran reporter Holly Rowe patrolling the sidelines and plenty of coverage of the Sky's most popular player, second-year forward Angel Reese. Those elements collided during a mid-game interview that took place between the first and second quarters. Rowe pulled aside Reese to ask about Chicago's slow start to the game, which saw the struggling Sky trail the defending WNBA champions 26-15 after the first 10 minutes. Reese's response was more than Rowe bargained for. Chicago Sky forward Angel Reese (5).Trevor Ruszkowski-Imagn Images After the 23-year-old answered the first question, she identified something wrong with the reporter's eyelash and offered a helping hand. Advertisement "Are you fixing my eyelash?" Rowe said, flustered in the middle of her next question. "I love that, thank you!" The wholesome moment caught the attention of WNBA fans on social media. "Angel Reese just fixing Holly Rowe's eyelash on national television mid-interview was such a moment," wrote a fan on X. "Angel Reese fixing Holly Rowe's eye lashes is a classic TV moment," echoed another. "Don't @ me." Reese's highly-acclaimed sense of style off the court and the friendly persona she displays on her "Unapologetically Angel" podcast shined through in the interaction. "Angel is such a girl's girl," praised a fan. "She don't even like holly rowe like that and she still fixed her eyelash mid interview." Advertisement "Angel fixing Holly Rowe's eyelash," one user said jokingly. "She said girl you look a mess." "Angel Reese adjusting Holly Rowe's eyelash during a first quarter interview is something you won't see in any other league," wrote a WNBA fan. At the time of the interview, Reese had seven points in the first quarter on 3-for-4 shooting while the rest of her team had eight points on 4-for-15 shooting.
