Aussie Eurovision star gives birth to second child

Perth Nowa day ago

Aussie singer Dami Im has welcomed the birth of her second child, declaring there's 'no song quite as beautiful as the first cry of your baby'.
Her second son with husband Noah Kim — whom she married in 2012 — the couple named their newest addition Rory Jiyul Kim.
'And then there were four ✨,' she said in an Instagram post, sharing three images of the newborn.
'Our second little boy, Rory Jiyul Kim has arrived earthside. There's no song quite as beautiful as the first cry of your baby….💛
'Noah and I are so in love and in awe as we get to know our little angel and also watch Harry become a big brother 🥹 Thank you for sending us all your love and prayers 🙏🙏🙏'.

The candid photos depict a smiling Im cradling Rory with support from her young family.
Speaking to The Women's Weekly, Im revealed that her youngest was born on the evening of Tuesday, June 3.
She said it was three-year-old Harry who inspired his sibling's name, with one of his favourite books featuring a lion called Rory.
'When we were searching for names, we went through a bunch and none of them were sticking,' Im told the publication.
'And then my mum was like, 'Oh, well why don't you just call him Rory?' I thought, 'Oh, that's such a cute name'. So I guess Harry picked it in a way. Aussie singer Dami Im has given birth to her second child. Credit: Dami Im/IG / IG
'Rory looks very similar to Harry (at that age). So it feels like we're back on a time machine and experiencing it again. But then we can see the differences as well, little features that I guess only parents might notice.'
Keen to keep the ball rolling on her music career, Im said she would be releasing new music in 2025.
However, not before some well-earned rest and recovery in the comfort of their baby bubble.
'I have travel booked for July sometime, but I'm trying not to, like, fill it up too quickly like I did last time,' she said.
'There's travel and performances coming up and I'll be releasing my single in September. I want to ease back into it gently, rather than be 'I've got to get back'. I want to enjoy the moment.'
The 36-year-old became a household household name in 2013, crowned winner of Australia's The X Factor before representing Australia in 2016's Eurovision Song Contest.
Her second place finish in the competition stands as the best result the nation has achieved since its first entry in 2014.
Members of Australian's music community have sent their love to the star, including Anthony Callea who said, 'Congratulations to you all 🥰Ax'.
Fellow Eurovision alum Silia Kapsis, a Sydney-born singer who represented Cyprus in 2024, also reached out to the performer.
'Yay congratulations Dami and family 💙💙💙💙', she said.

Muse appear to tease return with new song Unravelling

Muse appear to be teasing a new song called Unravelling. Matt Bellamy and co have been dropping teasers about their return for a few weeks now, and it looks like new music is imminent. The British rock band posted a snippet of a video of an unreleased song and captioned the Instagram post: "Back at it." The word Unravelling then flashes up on the screen at the end. A previous animated clip teased: 'Something's coming…" Muse also posted a picture of their silhouette and wrote: "An insect trapped in amber.' In February, bassist Chris Wolstenholme revealed they were planning to work on a new album "fairly soon". The Hysteria rockers' last full-length record was 2022's Will of the People, and he said they were keen to get started on a follow-up and ink a new record deal. Speaking on an episode of The Leona Graham Podcast, he spilled: 'We will [sign to a label], obviously. I think we're gonna start work on the next record fairly soon. 'I think for the last few albums we've been with Warner and we've extended after each album. We may do the same again; we may go with a new label, who knows.' The trio - which is completed by drummer Dominic Howard - needed the time to "reset" and Chris admits that there will be "bigger" gaps between records. He said: 'When you finish touring an album, and [when] the band has been around a bit longer, the gaps between albums get a little bit bigger. I don't think we can be banging out new albums every two years like we used to. 'But it gives you that opportunity to reset a little bit and think about what's gonna happen going forward.' He had suggested that fans would have to wait until 2026 for their 10th studio album. He continued: 'I think we'll start very, very soon, like in the next couple of months. 'We've got a few gigs in June. Only a handful – that's the only gigs we're doing this year. 'I don't think the idea is to do anything really serious until next year, so I would imagine that 2026 will be a new album, barring any disasters.' During Muse's downtime, Chris has been busy with a side project called Chromes, who released their first two tracks, Imaginary World and The Good Life, in October, with the musician on lead vocals. Chromes' latest track was The One, released on June 6.

‘Breaking Bad' homeowner's wild act

There's a new villain living in Walter White's house. The real-life owner of the famous 'Breaking Bad' home has had enough of fan visits and reached her own breaking point. Joanne Quintana grew up in the ranch-style property in Albuquerque, New Mexico, during the filming of the series which aired from 2008 to 2013, the New York Post reports. After years of dealing with trespassers and fans of the show flocking to take pictures of the iconic house, Ms Quintana is taking matters into her own hands. In his viral clip, Santi filmed Ms Quintana spraying fans on the street with her water hose, as she demanded they stay away from her property. While sitting on a chair in her front yard, Quintana asked one fan, 'Have you seen anything but 'Breaking Bad' stuff since you've been here?' 'You can take a picture from that corner, do not get close,' she continued. 'And no tripods, no nothing. One picture then you go.' When one visitor approached Ms Quintana's property, she told him, 'back up, cowboy.' Another visitor told Ms Quintana that he was a fan of the Emmy Award-winning show, to which she replied, 'the whole world is a fan, doesn't impress me.' Santi's video of Ms Quintana went viral with nearly three million views, as fans weighed in on Ms Quintana's behaviour. 'She just sits there all day and tells people how stupid they are lol,' one fan wrote. 'If she was smart she'd start charging,' another person said. Someone else pointed out, 'the street and sidewalk are public property.' Other fans suggested Ms Quintana should Airbnb her house to make money. In January, Ms Quintana listed her home for $US4 million ($A6.1 million) as she grew frustrated with fans of the show gawking at her property. Walter White, played by Bryan Cranston, his wife Skylar and their son Walt Jr. famously lived in the home in the series. Ms Quintana told local news outlet KOB that she initially considered the filming a 'once in a lifetime thing' that allowed her and her family to witness 'the magic of Hollywood,' which included interacting with the entire cast and crew. But eventually Ms Quintana and her family dealt with strangers constantly visiting the property. On one occasion, a package for 'Walter White' showed up at the home at 4.30am, leading the Quintanas to call the bomb squad out of concern for their safety. They also put up a fence — but that did not deter television nerds from showing up to the home. Some fans even tossed full pizza pies on the roof of the house's garage in an homage to a classic scene from the show, but they were reprimanded by 'Breaking Bad' creator Vince Gilligan on the 'Better Call Saul' podcast back in 2022. 'There is nothing original, or funny, or cool, about throwing a pizza on this lady's roof,' Gilligan said at the time. 'She is the sweetest lady in the world, and if you are getting on her nerves you are doing something seriously f**king wrong,' he added about Ms Quintana.
