No sneaker has dominated celebrity street style scene quite like the Adidas Samba's streak in 2022. But if you assumed it's been fully replaced by the Tokyo or the Taekwondo, think again: The sleek, retro-inspired Adidas silhouette has only gotten more popular. In the past year alone, Anne Hathaway, Zoë Kravitz, Kendall Jenner, Kaia Gerber, and Olivia Rodrigo have boarded the Samba bandwagon—none for the first time. Most recently, on June 2, Rodrigo proved they're still a staple in her airport attire.
Bright and early on Monday morning, the Grammy winner was snapped at New York's JFK airport. She attempted to maintain a low profile with a mask and a baseball cap, but her signature shoes gave her away. Always on board for a graphic tee, she started her OOTD with a Frank Sinatra T-shirt—a fitting selection for her return to NYC. She tucked it into wide-leg jeans in a mid-wash finish, then tied a dark sweatshirt around her waist.
Like other Samba-loving celebs, Rodrigo owns multiple versions of the frequently sold-out shoe (including the EmRata-approved white-and-green option). For her latest airport outfit, the "vampire" singer chose her tried-and-true color-way: black with white stripes.

Rodrigo didn't carry any luggage in her paparazzi pics. She did, however, sport a travel-friendly tote. Her personal item seemed to fit all her essentials, and then some. Plus, it tapped into the zeitgeist's animal print renaissance. Instead of following Jennifer Lawrence's lead with a leopard-print piece, though, Rodrigo went the zebra route.

Whether she's out in New York, London, or L.A., these former soccer shoes have earned a permanent spot in her suitcase. To no surprise, she's even worn them at the airport before. Dressed in a Uniqlo trench coat, black trousers, and a matching sweater, her travel look leaned more elevated than her latest OOTD. A cute baseball cap still finished her 'fit.

Billy Joel is shedding insight into one of the darkest periods of his life in his new documentary, Billy Joel: And So It Goes. The documentary — which premiered Wednesday, June 4, at the Tribeca Film Festival — featured the 'Piano Man' singer, 76, opening up about the origin of his marriage to his first wife, Elizabeth Weber Small, who he wed in 1973. Elizabeth's ex-husband, Jon Small, was in a band called Atilla with Joel from 1969 to 1970. At the time, Joel had moved in with Elizabeth, Jon and their former couple's son — and Joel had an affair with Elizabeth. 'I felt very, very guilty about it. They had a child. I felt like a homewrecker,' the 'New York State of Mind' singer said, according to People. 'I was just in love with a woman and I got punched in the nose which I deserved. Jon was very upset. I was very upset.' Following the affair, Elizabeth ended her relationships with both men and a distraught Joel coped by drinking, explaining that without a place to live, he was 'depressed to the point of almost being psychotic,' he said in the documentary. 'So I figured, 'That's it. I don't want to live anymore.' I was just in a lot of pain and it was sort of like why hang out, tomorrow is going to be just like today is and today sucks. So, I just thought I'd end it all.' The film featured an appearance by Joel's sister Judy Molinari — then, a medical assistant — who explained after she gave him sleeping pills to help him get sleep, he took all of them and ended up in a coma 'for days and days and days.' 'I went to go see him in the hospital, and he was laying there white as a sheet,' a tearful Molinari said. 'I thought that I'd killed him.' When the six-time Grammy winner finally woke up, his dark thoughts returned. Describing himself as 'very selfish,' Joel said he remembers thinking he wanted to try again — but he wanted to do it 'right.' During his next spiral, the 'Honesty' singer ingested a bottle of lemon Pledge — and it was Jon who ended up rushing the musician to the hospital. 'Even though our friendship was blowing up, Jon saved my life,' recalled Joel. Joel, who has since forgiven Joel for his indiscretion, shared his own thoughts on the experience., 'He never really said anything to me,' he explained. 'The only practical answer I can give as to why Billy took it so hard was because he loved me that much and that it killed him to hurt me that much.' Afterwards, Joel — who described himself as a 'lost soul' at the time— sought help. He checked himself into an 'observation ward,' remaining there for several weeks. The stay changed the course of his life forever. 'I got out,' he added, 'and I thought to myself, you can utilize all those emotions to channel that stuff into music.' Jonas Renske hopes Katatonia's new era includes more input from his bandmates

Revered Swedish prog metal gloom mongers Katatonia sent shockwaves through their fanbase in March when it was announced that founding guitarist Anders Nyström had left the band after 34 years and 12 albums. That hasn't stopped co-founding vocalist Jonas Renkse in his tracks, though, and he ushers in a new era of the band with 13th LP Nightmares As Extensions Of The Waking State. It features a new-look line-up with two new guitar players – Nico Elgstrand and Sebastian Svalland – and Renkse is now eyeing new heights. 'When I listen to the album, I hear a band that's still very hungry and wants to do new things and go to new places,' he says. 'There's a drive, a new energy and new ideas.' He'd previously said Nyström's departure was 'a decision not taken lightly,' but that it allowed 'everyone to thrive and move forward with their own creative preferences.' Things threatened to get ugly when the guitarist retaliated by saying:'Katatonia could and should have been mutually laid to rest,' believing Renkse and co should operate under a new name. He also criticised the band's recent setlists for ignoring their earlier material. Renkse confirms to Prog that he's mourning the end of their 'fruitful' partnership – but believes the band's legacy in in safe hands. 'Some relationships go on for a long time, and you maybe don't realise that you've grown apart,' he reflects. 'I'm happy we got to live this dream together. What we have created together cannot be taken away from us.' The new record itself, it sees Renske accompanied by bassist Niklas Sandin, drummer Daniel Moilanen, and the 'overwhelming' talents of Elgstrand (Entombed AD) and Svalland (Letters From The Colony). Elgstrand is no stranger to the band, having deputised for live shows in recent years, while Svalland was 'the guy that I had my eye on' when the search for a new member began. This album is a little bit more guitar-based … I was thinking more as a guitar player than anything else While 2023's Sky Void Of Stars found Katatonia sounding uncharacteristically upbeat, Nightmares returns to a darker sonic world. 'It's something I reacted to,' Renkse says. 'Perhaps subconsciously because of the last album, but when I got the masters back, I thought, 'Wow, this record is really dark!' 'I think, for some reason, this album is a little bit more guitar-based. I was picking up the guitar more often than keyboards, and I was thinking more as a guitar player than anything else.' Listeners can expect plenty of guitar solos too. Nightmares is the third consecutive Katatonia album Renkse has written on his own. He says the new record – which explores 'the nightmares we face in life' – is not very different from its predecessors; but he's afforded himself experimentation with Efter Solen, a fully electronic song sung in Swedish. 'I'm always writing, and it had a very nice vibe to it. I didn't really want to waste it by just keeping it on a hard drive,' he explains. 'I'm very happy to have it as an experiment; it's still very melancholic and dark; it just has a different kind of clothing.' He hopes future albums will see the band sharing the weight of songwriting duties. 'I always encourage it – but in the last 10 years, no one has really stepped up to the plate. Being the sole songwriter is sometimes very lonely; I would love the bouncing back and forth of ideas.'

Diddy's Ex-Girlfriend Testifies To Participating In 'Sleazy' Freak Offs, Crying During 18-Hour Session
More alleged details of Sean 'Diddy' Combs' personal life are exposed as witnesses testify regarding his romantic relationships and freak offs. On Thursday, (June 5), an ex-girlfriend of Combs, who is identified as 'Jane', testified that during their three-year relationship, a majority of intimate encounters involved other men. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the woman explained that her relationship with the Harlem native began with lush vacations and only the two of them in bed. As their relationship progressed, Jane claimed it started to involve drug use and escorts as Combs initiated the 'freak offs.' She also testified that 90% of their sexual encounters involved other men. 'I just thought that it was a night of fun; I didn't think that we'd be doing it again,' she explained. 'I just wanted to satisfy my partner.' In her testimony, she further detailed how she became trapped in the relationship due to Combs providing for her financially and informed the jury, 'I felt obligated to perform because my partner was paying my rent.' According to Rolling Stone, Jane Doe returned to the stand on Friday and continued to reflect on her account during her time with the 55-year-old. 'It's dark, sleazy, and makes me feel disgusted with myself,' she claimed to have told Combs in 2023 about not wanting to participate in the freak offs. 'I don't want to play this role anymore. I'm so much more than this,' and 'I feel like it's the only reason you have me around and pay for the house.' That same year, she alleged to have agreed to participate in a 'sober' party, despite Combs still using cocaine and ecstasy. During this freak off, Jane Doe claimed that she vomited, however, the Bad Boy Records founder dismissed her health concerns. 'Sean came in and I told him I had just thrown up,' she testified. 'And he was like, 'That's good, you'll feel better. Let's go, the third guy is here.'' TMZ reports that she also testified to crying during two freak offs, the first one being a surprise session when she thought she would have a one-on-one night with Combs. The session, she claims, lasted 18 hours and took place at the Waldorf Hotel in Beverly Hills early in their relationship. The second time she burst into tears was after a 'hotel night' while she was in the shower, high on drugs. Combs is charged with one count of racketeering conspiracy; two counts of sex trafficking by force, fraud, or coercion; and two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution, and has pleaded not guilty. Earlier this week, U.S. District Judge Arun Subramanian warned the Grammy-winner that he could be removed from the courtroom for 'absolutely unacceptable' behavior after allegedly making facial expressions towards the jury. The trial is expected to last all of June and into July.
