Denise Richards' husband, Aaron Phypers, files for divorce and wants alimony

It seems Denise Richards and husband Aaron Phypers are going their separate ways after six years of marriage.
Phypers filed his petition to divorce actor and 'The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills' star Richards on Monday, The Times has confirmed. The businessman filed his petition in Los Angeles County Superior Court. He cites 'irreconcilable differences' for the split and lists July 4 as the date of his separation from Richards.
A representative for Richards did not immediately respond to The Times' request for comment.
'Wild Things' actor Richards, 54, tied the knot with Phypers, 49, in 2018. They do not share children, but Richards has two adult daughters with ex-husband Charlie Sheen. She and the 'Two and a Half Men' actor were married from 2002 to 2006. Richards is also the mother to a teenage daughter whom she adopted as an infant.
Phypers was previously married to 'Desperate Housewives' star Nicollette Sheridan from 2015 to 2018.
Phypers is reportedly seeking spousal support from his now-estranged wife, according to court documents reviewed by The Times. In his declaration, Phypers says he has made no income since closing down a business last year and estimates Richards makes more than $250,000 a month from several business ventures including brand deals, TV and OnlyFans content. Phypers has asked to keep their assets and debts as separate property, including his power tools, motorcycle and sports car, legal documents show.
The couple began their relationship in 2017 and married a little more than a year later in a private ceremony in Malibu. They wed in September 2018, a month after Phypers finalized his divorce from Sheridan.
Though Richards has not publicly commented on Phypers' decision to file, she made her thoughts on divorce pretty clear earlier this year. In the debut episode of her Peacock series 'Denise Richards & Her Wild Things,' Richards said in a confessional interview, 'I'm never getting divorced again. Even if we hate each other, I'm not gonna f— get divorced.'
Phypers responded: 'No, we'll just have different homes or something. But we're not gonna hate each other.'

Pamela Anderson and Liam Neeson take chemistry beyond ‘Naked Gun': They're an item

'Naked Gun' co-stars Pamela Anderson and Liam Neeson are each giving love another shot — and apparently they're doing it together. 'Baywatch' icon Anderson and 'Taken' star Neeson are in a 'budding romance in the early stages' after striking up a connection on their upcoming cop comedy, according to People. A source told the magazine that the actors are 'smitten with each other.' Neither representatives for Anderson, 58, or Neeson, 73, immediately responded Wednesday to The Times' request for comment. The pair of actors, who play love interests in Akiva Schaffer's latest feature, have been singing each other's praises for months but only sparked dating speculation in recent weeks. In the November 2024 edition of People, Anderson and Neeson talked about their on-screen chemistry and their mutual respect. Neeson told the magazine, 'with Pamela, first off, I'm madly in love with her,' before detailing her work ethic and sense of humor. In turn, Anderson told People at the time that she thought her co-star was 'the perfect gentleman' and was honored to share the screen with him. In Shaffer's 'Naked Gun' reboot, Neeson stars as Frank Drebin Jr. continuing the legacy of his father, the main character of the original films starring Leslie Nielsen. Anderson, who had a buzz-worthy turn in 'The Last Showgirl' earlier this year, stars as femme fatale Beth Davenport. As promotion for the comedy ramped up in recent months, the stars shared more insight about their dynamic, on- and off-screen. Anderson spoke to Entertainment Weekly in May about bonding with Neeson. 'Our chemistry was clear from the start,' she told the outlet. She added that during filming, they shared a love for 'literature and a good laugh,' and baked goods. The model-actor said she would share her home-baked bread, cookies and muffins with her co-star. Elsewhere in her conversation with EW, Anderson said, 'our relationship stayed 'professionally romantic'' throughout the process. The stars looked especially fond of each other as they hit the red carpet in recent weeks for the film's various premieres in the United Kingdom, New York (pictured above), and Berlin. On Tuesday, the duo appeared on the 'Today Show' and leaned heavily into those dating rumors. In an Instagram post promoting their spot on the morning show, Anderson and Neeson pretend to get caught in the middle of a steamy moment. During their 'Today' interview, Anderson and Neeson jokingly took offense when anchor Craig Melvin asked: 'Are you two an item?' 'Craig,' Neesom says, acting disappointed. 'I don't understand the question,' Anderson responds, smiling at her co-star. Neeson continues to respond to Melvin, explaining 'we met on set and we discovered we had a lovely, budding chemistry ... as two actors.' He added: 'And it was like, 'oh, this is nice.' Let's not mold this. Let's just let it breathe and that's what we did.' After Melvin threw Neeson's answer back at him, the actor suggested the morning news personality was stirring the pot, moving his arms in a circle. Though she kept mostly tight-lipped about the relationship on the 'Today Show' Anderson said in an Instagram post on Tuesday, 'love is in the air.' Oscar-winning 'Schindler's List' star Neeson was previously married to British actor Natasha Richardson, who died in September 2014. They share two sons. Anderson has been married several times. Her first marriage was to rocker Tommy Lee; they were married twice and share two sons. Country rocker Kid Rock, poker player Rick Salomon and builder and bodyguard Dan Hayhurst are also her ex-husbands. 'The Naked Gun' hits theaters Friday.

MOCA shakeup: Ann Goldstein named interim director as Johanna Burton departs

The Museum of Contemporary Art has appointed former senior curator Ann Goldstein as its interim director, beginning Aug. 18. The Board of Trustees said Wednesday that it has launched an international search for a new permanent director. The move comes less than a week after the Institute of Contemporary Art at the University of Pennsylvania announced that MOCA's current director, Johanna Burton, would be its new director, with a start date of Nov. 1. MOCA did not issue its own press release about the leadership shakeup until Wednesday. When news of Burton's departure broke, she said she timed her departure so that she could oversee the opening of MOCA's highly anticipated 'Monuments' exhibit, which is scheduled for Oct. 23. But a source close to MOCA, who asked to remain anonymous because they were not authorized to speak on the record, said Burton's last day is Friday. MOCA declined to comment on the timing of Burton's departure or the discrepancy between when she said she was leaving and the museum's announcement that Goldstein will start in her role Aug. 18, but Burton confirmed her earlier departure to The Times. Burton said she had offered to stay up until the last minute before she was scheduled to begin her new job, but that MOCA's board, 'Probably just realized that it needed to move more quickly towards thinking about the next phase, which makes sense to me.' 'I think everybody just has the best interest of the museum in mind,' Burton said, adding that she is proud of her time with MOCA and leaves with only good feelings about what she and her staff have accomplished over the past four years. 'I'm delighted that they're in a position where that kind of runway can be taken up by somebody who is as wonderful as Ann, and it makes me feel really good handing it off.' Goldstein has a long history with MOCA, having shaped her career at the museum, beginning in 1983, just a few years after the museum was established. Over the next two-and-a-half decades Goldstein rose to senior curator. From 2009 to 2013 she served as director of the Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam; and in 2016 she became deputy director of the Art Institute of Chicago. 'No one knows MOCA like Ann. Her deep institutional knowledge and passion for our collection and community coupled with her international directorial expertise makes her the ideal leader to maintain the museum's momentum,' said Carolyn Clark Powers, chair of MOCA's board of trustees. 'While Johanna Burton's departure marks a moment of transition for MOCA, thanks to her leadership the museum is well positioned for the future.' Burton is the fifth director to leave MOCA since 2008. She became the museum's first female director four years ago in what The Times called 'something of an embarrassed addendum' to the news that MOCA's former director and recently named artistic director Klaus Biesenbach had taken a job in Berlin. Two weeks prior, MOCA had announced that Burton would assume the role of executive director to co-run the museum with Biesenbach as part of a management restructuring plan. Suddenly alone in the top role, Burton became the museum's seventh director in MOCA's nearly 40-year history. The museum was emerging from a period of instability after a series public stumbles, including a canceled fundraising gala due to public outcry over a lack of diversity in its honorees, the firing of chief curator Helen Molesworth and what many considered to be an unexpected announcement that former director Philippe Vergne wouldn't renew his five-year contract. Despite the internal turmoil, and a significant drop in membership, as well as a COVID-19-induced closure that lasted more than a year, MOCA's endowment hit a high watermark of $170 million at the time of Burton's initial appointment.
