Queen Brings Several Bestsellers Back
Three albums by Queen appear on the charts in the United Kingdom this week. One stands out as by far the most popular at the moment, but listeners in the country apparently can't be satiated by just one title — even if it's a greatest hits collection packed with many of the band's most familiar tunes. The love for Queen's unique style of rock remains so strong that the group sees multiple collections appear on multiple tallies at the same time, even though there's crossover from the tracklists on the projects. Two of those three titles currently present manage to rebound and return.
Greatest Hits is Queen's most successful project in the U.K. at the moment. It's the only one from the band to appear on several tallies, earning lofty positions on many of them.
Greatest Hits reappears on one of the four lists on which it's featured, bounding back onto the Official Albums Sales chart at No. 86. It does so in its four-hundred-and-fiftieth frame as one of the bestselling titles in the country.
The Bohemian Rhapsody soundtrack, which accompanied the film of the same name, is also a strong seller once more — at least when compared to other similar collections. That set reenters the Official Soundtrack Albums chart at No. 38. It's a special period for that title as well, as it reaches five full years — or 260 weeks — on the soundtracks-only ranking.
Greatest Hits by Queen is still living inside the top 40 on half of all the lists on which it can be found, sitting at No. 29 on the Official Albums Streaming chart and holding at No. 36 on the Official Albums ranking. It also drops only a few spots on the Official Album Downloads roster.
Queen occupies a pair of spaces on the downloads-only tally, as The Platinum Collection dips more than 10 spots to make a home at No. 71.

Adam Pendleton's 'Love, Queen' Reframes Protest and Abstraction
Summary TheHirshhorn Museumin Washington, DC is hostingAdam Pendleton: Love, Queen, the artist's first solo exhibition in the city. On view through January 3, 2027, the show features new and recent paintings, along with a large-scale video installation, in the museum's second-floor galleries. Pendletonis known for blending painting, drawing, and photography. He starts his pieces with ink, shapes, and text on paper, then photographs and layers them using screen-printing. The result is a bold visual language that mixes abstraction, minimalism and conceptual art. The exhibition includes Pendleton's signature 'Black Dada,' 'Days,' 'WE ARE NOT,' and 'Composition and Movement' paintings. These works often use only two colors over black backgrounds, drawing attention to gesture and language. Also debuting is 'Resurrection City Revisited (Who Owns Geometry Anyway?),' a video projected floor to ceiling. The piece uses archival images of Resurrection City, the 1968 protest camp tied to Martin Luther King Jr.'s Poor People's Campaign. Combined with found footage and flashes of geometric shapes, the film blurs the line between history and abstraction. The score, by Hahn Rowe, includes a recording of poet Amiri Baraka. Curated by Evelyn C. Hankins with support from Alice Phan,Love, Queenruns alongside the museum's permanent collection. Hirshhorn MuseumIndependence Ave SW &, 7th St SWWashington, DC 20560

Sabrina Carpenter Returns To No. 1 As Her Next Era Is About To Begin
The next era of Sabrina Carpenter's reign as one of the biggest pop stars in the world is about to kick off. The singer recently announced a new single titled "Man Child," which is slated to drop on Thursday, June 5. As the singer-songwriter heads into another chapter, the album that turned her into a pop powerhouse, Short N' Sweet, is in charge yet again. Carpenter returns to the No. 1 spot on the Official Albums chart in the United Kingdom with her full-length Short N' Sweet. The title steps up from second place to become the most consumed collection in the country. That's quite the accomplishment for a project that reaches a milestone 40 frames on the roster as it regains control of the throne. Short N' Sweet has now led the charge in the U.K. for five nonconsecutive frames. Interestingly, none of those have been in a row. The title debuted at No. 1 in early September 2024 and last ruled in March of this year. Throughout its lifetime, Carpenter's breakout project has never fallen outside of the top five. In fact, the lowest it's ever declined is No. 5 — a position it reached in February, but only for one stint. Short N' Sweet manages to succeed despite declining on most of the consumption-based rosters that help dictate where a title lands on the Official Albums chart. The set drops to No. 20 on both the Official Albums Sales and Official Physical Albums rankings and holds in last place at No. 100 on the Official Album Downloads list. It does, however, rule the Official Albums Streaming roster, as it seems that plays on platforms like Spotify and Apple Music are largely keeping Carpenter's full-length going. This week, Carpenter fends off competition from legendary pop-rock band Sparks. The American group almost scores its first No. 1 with its twenty-eighth full-length Mad!, which instead settles for second place. That's still a new high point for the outfit. Last week's champion, I'm the Problem by Morgan Wallen, drops from No. 1 to No. 10. Short N' Sweet is being kept afloat largely by the continued success of a number of huge hits featured on its tracklist. Carpenter scores six big songs on the U.K. charts this week, five of which come from her Grammy-winning project. "Espresso" and "Please Please Please" are the top performers, while "Taste," "Busy Woman," and "Bed Chem" follow behind.

One in 10 Brits would lick a stranger's armpit for £10,000
One in 10 Brits would lick a stranger's armpit for £10,000 – and a quarter would shave their eyebrows off to bag the cash. A poll of 2,000 adults found going without their phone for a month (38 per cent), swimming in a bath of baked beans (37 per cent), and spending 24 hours locked in a lift with their ex (26 per cent) were also among the funny things they'd do for cash. While 41 per cent would even go as far as going a year without a cup of tea to pocket the money. And 18 per cent would happily belt out a rendition of 'Bohemian Rhapsody' in a crowded tube carriage. The research was commissioned by Tango to mark the launch of its on-pack competition, which runs until 12th September, giving fans the chance to win up to £10,000 – without having to take on any such challenge.
