Morgan Wallen Manages A Very Rare Feat For Country Musicians Outside Of America
Morgan Wallen earns his first U.K. No. 1 album with I'm the Problem, topping multiple tallies and ... More sending two songs to the Official Singles chart. KNOXVILLE, TENNESSEE - SEPTEMBER 22: Morgan Wallen performs onstage for night two of his One Night At A Time tour at Neyland Stadium on September 22, 2024 in Knoxville, Tennessee. (Photo byfor for Morgan Wallen's One Night At A Time 2024) Morgan Wallen may be one of the biggest musical stars in America right now, but since he's such a central figure in country music, his work doesn't usually reach a global audience like some rappers or pop stars might. With his latest full-length I'm the Problem, the Grammy nominee has finally scored a major win in the United Kingdom, where he's been steadily building an audience for years. His newest release debuts at No. 1, earning the superstar his first leader on several tallies. I'm the Problem opens at No. 1 on the Official Albums chart, which ranks the most consumed full-lengths and EPs in the U.K. That's the most important list of albums in the country — but it's not the only one where I'm the Problem runs the show. Wallen also starts his latest project atop the Official Albums Sales, Official Physical Albums, and Official Country Artists Albums rankings. Wallen dominates three of those four lists for the very first time. He has previously hit the top spot on the Official Country Artists Albums chart – several times, in fact. The singer-songwriter has only placed a trio of titles on the list, and all of them have spent at least one turn at No. 1. Dangerous led for half a dozen frames, while One Thing at a Time only managed a single stint in charge. Coincidentally, I'm the Problem also reaches the same starting point — No. 4 — on three other tallies. It kicks off its boots and makes a home in that spot on the Official Albums Streaming, Official Album Downloads, and Official Vinyl Albums charts simlutaneously. In almost every instance, Wallen collects his first top 10 win with I'm the Problem. He has previously entered the coveted top 10 on the Official Album Downloads chart and, of course, on the Official Country Artists Albums list, where he has accrued three leaders. Country music is not nearly as popular in the U.K. as it is in America, and it's rare for acts working in that style to top any ranking — let alone U.S.-based superstars. Wallen's reach now clearly extends beyond album rankings, as he scores two new hits on the Official Singles Chart. 'What I Want,' a collaboration with Tate McRae, launches highest, as it starts at No. 32. 'Just in Case,' another previous single from the set, finally debuts at No. 75, weeks after it was first released. Wallen has now accrued 10 placements on the most competitive songs ranking in that nation with these two wins.

Rob49 on Viral Stardom, ‘Let Me Fly,' Collab Album With G Herbo & Making Music With Justin Bieber
In an age of elusive algorithms and viral fame, Rob49 has had an uncharacteristically steady rise for a young rapper. After an uneventful stint in the National Guard and two semesters at Southern University, Rob49 picked up the mic for fun during the COVID-19 pandemic. Almost immediately, he garnered co-signs from industry vets like French Montana, and inked a record deal before the year was out. From there, Rob's uptick in popularity hasn't ceased — much to the surprise of everyone, even him. 'I ain't never wanna be no rapper. I used to really be looking at rappers like they were lying,' Rob told Billboard of his early days. 'Like, 'Ain't no way you doin' what I'm doin and made it out this s—t.' Now, I feel like all rappers gotta be doing what they're talking about — because ain't no way your hood let you [fake] that, let you say what you say and get away with it.' More from Billboard Morgan Wallen Reclaims ARIA Albums Chart With 'I'm the Problem' Miley Cyrus Performs Live Debut of 'More to Lose' on 'Kimmel' Rob Thomas Announces 2025 Australia and New Zealand Tour Rob49's latest album, Let Me Fly, is a testament to that relentless hustle, and to the acceptance that clearly he was built to be a rap star. The lighthearted nature behind his inescapable hit 'WTHelly' shows that making hit songs, even if the origin of it is rather silly, comes as easily to Rob as breathing. 'I don't be looking for a catchy record,' Rob says. 'I really just be doing what I want.' Below, Billboard talks with Rob49 about 'WTHelly,' linking with Justin Bieber, and the key to making good music. Let's set the record straight: Who was the first person to say 'what the helly?' I don't know who the first person was, but a lot of people are trying to take credit for it in my city. It's New Orleans slang right now. How are you feeling about the reception to 'WTHelly' so far? Were you expecting it to be a hit from the jump? I knew it was gonna be good, but I was kinda scared. A lot of the other releases I had, I was kinda thinkin', 'Oh this is gonna be it!' and it was not what it was supposed to be. I was scared ['WTHelly'] was gonna be one of them ones. I'm grateful for it [catching on]. It must be nice to see it starting to get the traction the song is getting. Did you see it? Did I see what? Did you see 'WTHelly' on your socials? I had to search it, it didn't just pop up for me. Ah, see that's why I asked you that. We ain't go hard enough then. What's your favorite 'WTHelly' flip? What the helly-Bron James. I came up with that one, and my friends came up with the rest. How are you feeling about the reception to the remix? Justin Bieber's verse seemed to really divide people, and I can't help but notice you haven't dropped it. I was gonna drop the [remix] with [G Herbo] first and add it to the album, but we wound up doing it too late. So it might come out the next day on the album, then we're just gonna go from there with it. Do you plan to drop the Justin Bieber remix as well? I talked to Justin a couple of days ago and he was telling me he wanted to do some more songs. So I don't know. How is he feeling about the reception to his verse? It was pretty divisive when it dropped. It's funny — when he first did it, he was like, 'What you think? You think I can go harder?' I told him like, 'Man I love it, bro — if you feel comfortable about it, if you like it, then I love it.' You know? Were you surprised by people's negative reaction to Bieber's verse? No, not really. I knew it was a possibility, because — it was the same way when he asked me, 'Do you think I can go harder?' What do you think people misunderstood about it? Probably the singing part. You just never know what it's gonna be — and fans don't understand that all the time, that you don't know what a hit is. Like, it just kinda happens. Some people might've been, like, 'Oh my god he sung!' and if it would have been a hit it would have been a crazy banger. That be the difference between songs. Tell me about the work you did with Birdman on this album. What did you learn from working and talking with him? Just go hard, cause you get a lot of motivation from him like that and I just be accepting it. We don't really be talking about too much. Don't let up, don't take it for granted, stuff like that. You mentioned New Orleans — what's your relationship like with your hometown right now? I love my city, but when I go back there now it just feels like dry energy. There's nothing really there, in terms of anything. I saw so much stuff traveling the world, it just doesn't feel like enough for me — and that's scary. I ain't never wanted it to be like that because I like going home. I noticed Skilla Baby's not on — is that collab album still coming? I'm gonna call him and talk to him about that. Right now, I'm working on a collab album with me and G Herbo. I don't know what we're gonna name it — one of my close friends be saying, 'Ghetto Poet' or something like that. I think I wanna name it that. I was gonna ask [G Herbo] how he feel about that. 'Ghetto Poet' sounds great for an album, right? Absolutely. I'm curious about how you approach dropping music. For a lot of young guys the blueprint has been too flood the streets with as much music as possible, but you've been very intentional with the singles you've dropped since 4 God II. I just didn't wanna drop no bulls—t. But at this point in my life I don't care. I know if it's hard, it's better than yours. They got a lot of people out here dropping stuff that's not better than mine. Do you ever worry about losing momentum? I definitely feel nervous about it. I was nervous this time, but I wasn't nervous for myself, I was nervous cause everyone around me was getting nervous. I keep tellin' em we good, but then they keep getting nervous! But you gotta be a strong-minded person, and not let people around you dictate your movements. How did you creatively approach differently than ? I just wanted to be myself for real. 4 God II, it did good, but I felt like I was listening to the people a lot about the songs I was picking and stuff. This time, no one has say so but me. Do you feel pressure with this record to take it to the next level? I don't feel no pressure, I just feel like we gotta go hard. Right now, we don't have to come out with a fake roll out. The songs are going up for real — it's not a game. Right now, I feel like I gotta show you [who I am], because a lot of people hold they nuts. You not gonna be able to hold your nuts this year. Queen Brings Several Bestsellers Back
Three albums by Queen appear on the charts in the United Kingdom this week. One stands out as by far the most popular at the moment, but listeners in the country apparently can't be satiated by just one title — even if it's a greatest hits collection packed with many of the band's most familiar tunes. The love for Queen's unique style of rock remains so strong that the group sees multiple collections appear on multiple tallies at the same time, even though there's crossover from the tracklists on the projects. Two of those three titles currently present manage to rebound and return. Greatest Hits is Queen's most successful project in the U.K. at the moment. It's the only one from the band to appear on several tallies, earning lofty positions on many of them. Greatest Hits reappears on one of the four lists on which it's featured, bounding back onto the Official Albums Sales chart at No. 86. It does so in its four-hundred-and-fiftieth frame as one of the bestselling titles in the country. The Bohemian Rhapsody soundtrack, which accompanied the film of the same name, is also a strong seller once more — at least when compared to other similar collections. That set reenters the Official Soundtrack Albums chart at No. 38. It's a special period for that title as well, as it reaches five full years — or 260 weeks — on the soundtracks-only ranking. Greatest Hits by Queen is still living inside the top 40 on half of all the lists on which it can be found, sitting at No. 29 on the Official Albums Streaming chart and holding at No. 36 on the Official Albums ranking. It also drops only a few spots on the Official Album Downloads roster. Queen occupies a pair of spaces on the downloads-only tally, as The Platinum Collection dips more than 10 spots to make a home at No. 71.

Frank Sinatra Invades The Billboard Charts Again With Fan Favorites
Frank Sinatra sees three albums reenter Billboard's jazz charts this week, with Nothing But the Best ... More and Ultimate Sinatra returning to the top 10. TORONTO - AUGUST 19: American singer, actor and producer who was one of the most popular and influential musical artists of the 20th century, Frank Sinatra performing in Las Vegas, on August 19, 1978. (Photo by Icon) Many Billboard charts were impacted last week after Record Store Day became a thrilling event for music lovers across the United States. Dozens of titles debuted across the weekly rankings after special editions, new albums, and live recordings sold thousands of copies in brick-and-mortar locations throughout the country. Just days after many of those titles appeared, almost all of the exclusives from the music industry event are gone, as they were typically offered in very limited quantities and have since vanished. The vacuum left behind has been filled by comebacks from fan-favorite artists, with certain genre-specific lists this time around welcoming back multiple collections. Frank Sinatra stands out as one of the biggest gainers following Record Store Day 2025. The late icon sees multiple projects return to several of Billboard's jazz rankings, which last frame featured quite a few brand new titles from superstars in the genre. Nothing But the Best is Sinatra's top performer – when looking at his comebacks – this time around. That title reenters the top 10 on both the Traditional Jazz Albums list (No. 8) and the Jazz Albums tally (No. 10). Just one space beneath that collection comes another from the crooner. Ultimate Sinatra: The Centennial Collection makes its way back to both of those style-specific rosters. It makes its way back to the Traditional Jazz Albums list at No. 9 and just misses the top 10 on the Jazz Albums list, landing at No. 11. Sinatra sees a trio of titles return to the all-encompassing Jazz Albums ranking — the largest and most competitive jazz-focused chart in the U.S. Sinatra Duets: 20th Anniversary (Deluxe Edition) can be found at No. 21 on the 25-position tally. The set doesn't manage to carve out space on the Traditional Jazz Albums list, unlike Nothing But the Best and Ultimate Sinatra. Two versions of Ultimate Sinatra appear on both style-only tallies this frame, but only one manages a proper comeback. The original Ultimate Sinatra was still residing inside the top three on both the Traditional Jazz Albums and Jazz Albums rankings last frame. Now, it soars to No. 1 on the former and secures the runner-up position on the latter. Last week, more than a dozen titles arrived on the Jazz Albums chart. That roundup included special offerings from some of the most famous in the industry, such as Gil Scott-Heron, Bill Evans, and both Thelonious Monk and Vince Guaraldio, who scored a pair of wins. Even Joni Mitchell earned her first career smash on the list as well.

Lana Del Rey's First Blockbuster Rockets Up The Charts
As 'Bluebird' drops, Lana Del Rey sees Born to Die and Ultraviolence return to U.K. charts, with the ... More former rising on four rankings and nearing a 300-week milestone. LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA - FEBRUARY 04: (FOR EDITORIAL USE ONLY) Lana Del Rey attends the 66th GRAMMY Awards at Arena on February 04, 2024 in Los Angeles, California. (Photo by Jeff Kravitz/FilmMagic) There's a lot of excitement surrounding Lana Del Rey's music career at the moment as she heads toward the release of a brand new album. She's keeping fans on the edge of their seats, as she hasn't revealed an official release date for the set. In the months since she began talking about the effort, she's changed its title more than once, and currently, it doesn't even have a name. The singer-songwriter has already dropped multiple tunes from the forthcoming full-length, and fans seem to be loving everything she's offering. This week, as her latest cut 'Bluebird' arrives, interest in her catalog has surged once again. Del Rey brings multiple albums back to the charts in the United Kingdom, turning two different titles into bestsellers. As is almost always the case, Del Rey's debut full-length Born to Die remains her most successful project in the U.K. This frame, the title appears on five rankings, thanks to both strong sales and streaming — especially for a collection that's been out for well over a decade. This time around, it lifts on three of those lists, drops on just one (and only by a few spaces), and reenters the Official Vinyl Albums chart. It's a top 40 bestseller again on wax, landing at No. 39 after not appearing on the tally just last week. Born to Die also manages to ascend by more than 60 spaces on both the Official Albums Sales (No. 37) and the Official Physical Albums charts (No. 35). Last week, the U.K. rankings were packed with Record Store Day releases, which were only available to purchase physically — which helps explain why so many titles are rising this week and why many classics have returned simultaneously. The title also improves on the Official Albums Streaming ranking, rising three spots to No. 61. While it does decline by four spaces on the Official Albums chart, the fact that it's still living somewhere in the middle of the ranking of the most-consumed projects in the country — just one week away from its three hundredth stay on the tally — is amazing. Del Rey fills a pair of spots on the Official Physical Albums chart this week. Ultraviolence, Del Rey's 2014 release and second proper major studio offering, is back as a bestseller on vinyl, CD, and cassette once more. The title narrowly finds space on the list — which features 100 positions — as it reenters at No. 97. It has now spent 119 frames somewhere on this specific tally and, in the past, has climbed all the way to No. 1, something that Born to Die also managed.
