Bam Margera's Doc Told Him Legs Were 'Rotted Rubber Bands' Because of Booze

Yahoo4 days ago
Bam Margera says he was lost for a while ... and, a doctor even told him his legs were totally shot -- but, he's come all the way back in the new Tony Hawk game.
We caught up with the former "Jackass" star and skate legend Tuesday ... and, he talked about what it means to be in the game -- which comes out this week -- and Bam's super excited.
Bam notes he's gone through hard times over the last decade -- full of drug and alcohol abuse as well as several notable arrests -- and, he credits his wife Dannii Marie for helping him build the necessary strength back in his legs to get back on the board.
In fact, it's shocking Bam's skating at all again ... 'cause he says a doctor referred to his legs as "dry-rotted rubber bands" due to alcohol abuse in 2013.
Bam shared a couple behind-the-scenes vids to his Instagram ... including a series of his own faces on a computer screen for the new game -- and, he told us he was blown away by the realistic look of this game.
ICYMI ... Bam told us back in April he'd actually missed the deadline to be part of the new game -- so, we had to ask how he made this work. Bam's got two words for us explaining his inclusion: Tony Hawk. We guess when your name is on the game, it's hard to say no!
"Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 + 4" drops worldwide Friday ... so clear your weekend plans!

James Gunn Explains the Circumstances Where His Superman Might Kill Someone — GeekTyrant

James Gunn's Superman is finally here, and it's looking like the DCU is off to a strong start. With David Corenswet donning the cape and a stacked cast including Rachel Brosnahan, Nicholas Hoult, and Nathan Fillion, this rebooted take on the Man of Steel already is very different, brighter, more hopeful, and a little weirder. But don't assume that means Gunn is softening Superman's edges completely. At a recent Wired Q&A, Gunn was asked directly about whether his Superman would ever kill. After reading a card that asked, 'Why doesn't Superman kill?', Gunn turned to Corenswet but answered the question himself: 'I believe he believes in a basic right to life. I mean, I think that's just not in him.' However, Gunn quickly followed up with some added complexity: 'I think that if, for instance, he had to kill to protect somebody's life, he would probably do that, even though that would be hard for him.' So no, we're not likely to see a trigger-happy Kryptonian, but Gunn is leaving the door open for morally grey situations where Superman might make an impossible choice. This echoes the divisive moment in Zack Snyder's Man of Steel , where Henry Cavill's Superman kills General Zod to save innocent lives. Snyder stood by that decision in a GQ interview last year, arguing: 'Zod wasn't going to stop. He would fight [Superman] until either he killed him or Superman killed Zod… If Superman can't handle that position, then he's fake… He had to address the scenarios that come to him. He doesn't get to pick and choose when something is outside of your morality.' Whether you love or hate that moment, Gunn seems to be acknowledging a similar reality. This new Superman may face choices with no clean outcomes. It's not about abandoning his values. It's about what happens when those values are pushed to the brink. Interestingly, Corenswet himself has expressed interest in exploring a darker path for the character in future projects. In a previous interview, he said he'd love to see his Superman in an R-rated setting. That doesn't mean we're heading toward a hyper-violent Superman movie, but in the world Gunn is building, it's clear that even the most virtuous hero might face the kind of dilemma that makes him question everything.

David Zaslav Says DC Has Finally Taken Flight After SUPERMAN's Box Office Win: 'The Vision Is Clear. The Momentum Is Real.' — GeekTyrant

After years of starts, stops, and superhero stumbles, the DC Universe may have finally found its footing, and David Zaslav is leading the victory lap. Following a $122 million domestic and $217 million global opening weekend for James Gunn's Superman , Warner Bros. Discovery's CEO isn't just celebrating the numbers, he's doubling down on a unified DC future. In Zaslav's view, this is the beginning of a new era. 'Three years ago, I hired James Gunn and Peter Safran to reimagine and unify the creative direction of DC under one leadership team, by breathing new life and excitement into one of the most iconic storytelling franchises in the world,' Zaslav said. 'James and Peter's commitment to honoring the legacy of the DC Universe while forging something new and enthralling is inspired.' The early success of Superman , starring David Corenswet and Rachel Brosnahan, arrives on the heels of a string of DC misfires like The Flash , Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom , Shazam: Fury of the Gods , and Blue Beetle all struggled to make an impact. But with a fresh vision, a rebooted tone, and a clearer roadmap, Gunn's Superman has become a much-needed turning point. Zaslav recalled his initial meeting with Gunn, noting how personal these characters seemed to him. 'When he spoke about the DC characters, they were like his family.' That level of connection, he said, made it obvious Gunn was the right person to guide the cinematic reboot. Zaslav made it clear this was only the beginning, saying: 'This weekend, we watched Superman soar as James Gunn's passion and vision came to life on the big screen. Superman is just the first step. 'Over the next year alone, DC Studios will introduce the films Supergirl and Clayface in theaters and the series Lanterns on HBO Max, all part of a bold 10-year plan. The DC vision is clear, the momentum is real, and I couldn't be more excited for what's ahead.' That 10-year plan includes a full slate of interconnected films and series, with Supergirl and Clayface already in motion and a new Wonder Woman project reportedly in early development. The goal is creating a cohesive universe with consistent tone and purpose—a far cry from DC's scattered past. There's still some pressure though, as a $225 million budget means Superman needs strong legs to prove it's not just a frontloaded win, and with Disney's Thunderbolts recently flaming out after an impressive start, there's reason to be cautious. But right now? Zaslav along with the cast and crew of the film are enjoying the success.

He's reached the top spot with five of those releases, and several have remained on the tally for a year or more. Tha Carter III is Wayne's first album to hit 300 weeks on the Billboard 200, a landmark number it hits this period. The set has ranked as the Grammy winner's longest-running success on the tally for years, and it remains his only title to crack triple-digit frames on the list. I Am Not a Human Being II, which arrived just two years ago and stalled at No. 25, is his second-longest-charting effort with just 84 frames to its credit. Only Tha Carter V and Tha Carter IV have also spent more than a year on the Billboard 200, with 81 and 73 turns on the roster, respectively. That project has spent only four frames on the tally so far, and peaked at No. 2. Tha Carter IV also dips slightly, falling two rungs to No. 185. The project produced some of the rapper's most iconic singles, including "Lollipop" with Static Major, "A Milli," and "Got Money" with T-Pain. The album won the Grammy Award for Best Rap Album and was also nominated for Album of the Year.
