Notre Dame football offers 2027 SEC legacy safety Kenneth Simon a scholarship
The current class is virtually filled with twenty-six commitments, which gives the Irish staff the luxury of being able to move their focus over to the 2027 cycle. They already have two commitments in linebacker Ellis McGaskin and long snapper Sean Kraft, but they are putting in work for other prospects.
One of those is Tennessee safety Kenneth Simon, who received an offer from Notre Dame on Tuesday. The 6-foot, 2-inch and 198-pound defender is the exactly frame that the Irish are looking for in that position, and he's currently ranked as the No. 341 overall prospect in the 247Sports Composite.
Simon has a very solid offer list at this point in his recruitment, with Tennessee, Auburn, Florida, North Carolina and others already showing the interest. The Irish offer shouldn't surprise anyone, as his father Kevin played linebacker for the Vols and it has become a theme with Notre Dame recruiting recently to go after legacy prospects.
They have had a lot of success with these type of players, and hopefully they can continue that trend with their pursuit of Simon.

Where is the MLB Speedway Classic? Location, capacity, more to know Bristol Motor Speedway
For the first time ever, an MLB game is being held at the center of a race track. The Braves and Reds will face off in the 2025 MLB Speedway Classic, a specialty game that is expected to break the league's single-game attendance record. Baseball will be meeting motorsports, as the teams will face off on a field that was constructed inside a stadium that was built for NASCAR races. Saturday's matchup will also mark the first-ever MLB game in the state of Tennessee. 📲 Follow The Sporting News on WhatsApp Here's everything to know about the location of the MLB Speedway Classic, including the size of the stadium. Titans' best moments: When Vince Young led fourth-quarter comeback over Giants
We are not here to bully Mathias Kiwanuka. The best-played quarter in the history of Tennessee Titans football came on Nov. 26, 2006 against the New York Giants. Maybe not the most important or the most significant. But pure best? No question. It's where we find No. 7 on The Tennessean's list of Tennessee Titans' best moments. Some background: Eli Manning and the Giants led 21-0 at the start of the fourth quarter. After a Giants turnover-on-downs and a Titans punt, cornerback Adam 'Pacman' Jones intercepted Manning to get the Titans rolling. Quarterback Vince Young leads a nine-play, 46-yard touchdown drive. The defense forces a three-and-out. Jones chunks a long punt return. Young runs in another touchdown. The defense forces another punt. And… now we kind of have to bully Mathias Kiwanuka. For those who don't remember, Kiwanuka was a darn good football player. A two-time All-American at Boston College. A two-time Super Bowl winner with the Giants. Logged 38.5 career sacks. But here, well, let's just say he should've had 39.5 career sacks. Fourth-and-10 and 2:45 left. Titans backed up at their own 24-yard line. Young is buying time in the pocket. Kiwanuka spins out of tackle Michael Roos' grasp and right into Young's waist. He wraps Young up as cleanly as anyone's ever wrapped anyone up. Textbook. Game over… …if Kiwanuka finishes the tackle. Instead he just… kinda… lets Young go? More: Tennessee Titans fans shouldn't fret — yet — about Cam Ward's growing pains | Estes Young scrambles around some more, pump fakes, builds speed and ends up maneuvering 19 yards upfield for the first down. Then came a 20-yard gain. Then a 16-yard gain. Then a 14-yard TD to tie the score. Then Jones picks off Manning again. Two more Young completions. A 49-yard Rob Bironas field goal. The Titans win, 24-21, in regulation. Nick Suss is the Titans beat writer for The Tennessean. Contact Nick at nsuss@ Follow Nick on X, the platform formerly called Twitter, @nicksuss. Notre Dame had its second fall practice and here are some clips shared on social media
There wasn't much shared early on Friday of Notre Dame football's second practice of the fall, but we did get to see an impressive clip of running back Jeremiyah Love looking very shifty going through a speed drill. Luckily, as the day went by, more short videos were shared on social media, some of them featuring your favorite Irish players. While the media members who shared them didn't get to see all of the action, they got enough to wet our whistle for Notre Dame football. Below you'll see a focus on the quarterbacks, more drill work, and a multiple true freshman that could turn some heads. The competition we are all paying attention to, the quarterbacks There isn't another more important fall competition than at quarterback, and it very much seems like Notre Dame's social media team knows that as well. Kenny Minchey got the rep from the full team scrimmage in the clip, and threw a very pretty ball to KK Smith, albeit with the second-team. The No. 10 that you see in the bottom right corner of the first set, yeah, that Tyler Buchner. He's shown he's the epitome of a team player for Notre Dame, as his experience will help the younger players get acclimated to this level. Buchner isn't in consideration for the starting job, but you'll see him on special teams and maybe a trick play or two. The freshman corners If you are good enough to see the field as a true freshman, head coach Marcus Freeman won't be afraid to put you on the field. We have seen many young Irish players getting plenty of early run in their careers, and both Dallas Golden and Mark Zackery could join that group. Last year, we saw Leonard Moore shine as a first-year player, and there are plenty of opportunities to make a mark in Notre Dame's secondary. Jaden Greathouse has another level Greathouse used the College Football Playoff to showcase that he could be an elite talent, but he may just be scratching his surface of what he can be. So far, it's been consistency holding him back, and after getting a taste of top-end success, it may have motivated Greathouse to take it to the next level. If he has added some speed to his already impressive skill set, he could end up being the No. 1 wide receiver the Irish have been looking for. The running back room is even deeper James was one of the last 2025 signees to make his commitment to Notre Dame, but he was worth the effort to flip him from Boston College. Although not highly ranked, he sure looks the part of a future difference maker at running back. It might be a little while before we see him on the field though, as Jeremiyah Love, Jadarian Price and Aneyas Willams most likely won't be jumped on the depth chart. James is the future at the position, and still could get some carries later in blowouts, without burning a redshirt year.
