UK royal couple William and Kate seek fresh start with move to £16m home in Windsor
The royal couple are moving to the eight-bedroomed Forest Lodge in Windsor Great Park, with their children George, Charlotte and Louis.
A Kensington Palace spokesperson said: 'The Wales family will move house later this year.'
According to The Sun newspaper, the royal couple are paying for the property and renovations themselves, avoiding any extra cost to the taxpayer.
The paper reported that work has already started on a minor renovation at the Grade II-listed property.
Redacted planning applications lodged with the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead show permission for minor internal and external alterations was granted earlier this month.
The council's decision notice refers to the removal of a window and work to a fireplace.
In 2001, Forest Lodge underwent £1.5 million (RM8.55 million) restoration works and was put on the rental market for £15,000 a month.
Images inside the home taken at the time showed the property boasted original stonework, elaborate plaster cornices and ceiling decoration, and a half-barrel vaulted hallway ceiling.
The Waleses' move will be a short one from their current main home at Adelaide Cottage in Windsor, and the children attend nearby Lambrook School.
They also have homes at Anmer Hall in Norfolk and Apartment 1A in Kensington Palace in London.
As heir to the throne, William inherited the Duchy of Cornwall estate, a portfolio of land, property and investments valued at more than £1 billion, when his father became king.
According to The Sun, Forest Lodge would be worth about £16 million on the open market. The freehold is owned by the king. — Bernama-PA Media/dpa

Benjamin Sesko and Viktor Gyokeres are set to make their Premier League debuts for United and Arsenal respectively at Old Trafford after a summer that could have seen them line up for their opposition on Sunday. Arsenal were linked with a move to Sesko for over a year before deciding to bet on Gyokeres as the man to fire them to a first Premier League title since 2004 for a fee that could rise to £66 million (RM377 million). Leeds sign midfielder Longstaff from Newcastle

(EPA Images pic) LONDON : Newly promoted Leeds have signed midfielder Sean Longstaff from Premier League rivals Newcastle, it was announced Friday. No fee was disclosed, but British media reports said the four-year deal was worth an initial £10 million (US$13 million), rising to £12 million (US$16 million). Longstaff, 27, in the final season of his Newcastle contract, has moved to Elland Road after being restricted to eight Premier League starts for his hometown club last term. He made 171 top-flight appearances for the Magpies after coming through their academy but fell behind Joelinton, Bruno Guimaraes and Sandro Tonali in the race for regular first-team football. Longstaff is Leeds' fifth pre-season signing following the arrivals of Lukas Nmecha, Jaka Bijol, Sebastiaan Bornauw and Gabriel Gudmundsson.
