Texas man loses 40 percent of his skin after running back into house to save dog when motorcycle exploded in the living room

A Texas man burned 40 percent of his skin off his body after rushing into his burning home to save his dog after a motorcycle exploded inside. Zain Cano, 31, of San Antonio, risked his life to save his dog on May 22 when a fire erupted inside he and wife Jenna Carter's duplex while he was working on his motorcycle inside the home around 10pm. 'I had been working on my motorcycle and didn't secure the fuel line, the gas leaked onto the carpet and caught fire,' he wrote on Reddit. Cano managed to safely escape the apartment, only to realize his beloved dog Clarence was still inside and ran back into get the pooch, who appears frequently on his social media pages. Carter was not home when the fire broke out. When firefighters arrived, flames were leaping out of the home and they found Cano lying on the lawn, according to News 4 San Antonio. He was rushed to the hospital. The heroic feat left Cano hospitalized and with burns covering 40 percent of his body and in need of multiple surgeries, the couple revealed in a GoFundMe and on Facebook. Cano, who was released from the hospital on Wednesday, also underwent a skin graft on the right side of his body and a blood transfusion. One of the skin grafts, which transferred skin from his calf to his foot, resulted in one of his tattoos being moved to a different part of his body. Photos of Cano in hospital, show him completely unrecognizable with no hair and white bandages covering every part of his body - a far cry from the dark-haired, mustached man he was before the incident. Cano, who does not have health insurance, Carter, and Clarence are now homeless and the young dog owner faces a lengthy and painful road to recovery. 'I feel horrible because my family is now homeless because of my mistake,' he wrote on Reddit. 'We're staying at a motel for the time being, but it's expensive and I can't work and probably won't be able to for at least another month or more.' Carter is also not working at the moment as Cano cannot care for himself and needs assistance changing his bandages, giving him sponge baths, and 'wiping my butt.' 'He's had a hard road so far and a long one ahead of him in terms of healing.' Carter wrote on the GoFundMe. 'He's going to need multiple weeks of continuous medical care and help from me (he has to use a walker and cannot use his hands), and we desperately need a stable environment for him to heal in.' The couple is hoping to purchase a camper to minimize their expenses, but worry it might hurt Cano, who is 'having trouble getting around.' 'We have to change my bandages daily and we're concerned about keeping things clean enough so I don't get an infection,' he said on Reddit. The couple started the fundraiser as a way to ask for help with medical bills, permanent housing, and upcoming expenses 'Unfortunately, we already spent what little savings we had and I won't be able to work for a while.' The couple started the fundraiser as a way to ask for help with medical bills, permanent housing, and upcoming expenses. 'So now time is of the essence and I'm humbly and embarrassingly asking for help again,' Cano wrote on Facebook.

Democrat mayor SMIRKS as he defends 'doxing' ICE agents

A Democratic mayor is defending the public release of names of federal immigration officers involved in mass migrant round ups, claiming that the real concern isn't their safety, but that masked agents are 'whisking people' away. Names of agents from Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) were posted to online by the City of Nashville, as part of a public records request that mandates information about immigration be posted online to a city website. Mayor Freddie O'Connell is currently under investigation by two Congressional committees for allegedly helping illegal immigrants in Music City evade deportations. 'I understand the concerns but it's not a process that I would characterize as doxing,' O'Connell told reporters at a press conference Wednesday. 'It was an unintentional release of names that was already part of a public record.' However a local Republican Congressman who is leading the investigations against the mayor slammed O'Connell on social media. 'ICE agents and their families are not safe because of Freddie's reckless actions,' Tennessee Rep. Andy Ogles tweeted. 'He's not even sorry. The pushback was so intense, O'Connell had to abruptly end the press gaggle. This investigation is far from over. Stay tuned.' Identities of federal agents, which are protected in certain situations by law, were posted online, but later taken down after push back from the the Department of Homeland Security (DHS.) 'We've obviously had some concerns from DHS about releasing those names. They would still be discoverable, but that was not an intent of an executive order,' the mayor explained. 'It wasn't an intentional process. Using multiple local departments, we've had multiple people whose names have been there, but again, this is something new. We're reviewing it. While being questioned about the release of the names, O'Connell shifted attention over to criticism of the ICE tactics during immigration arrest. 'I'm far more concerned about the overall dynamic we have about unmarked, unidentifiable masked people whisking people into vehicles. I think that's a much bigger concern.' Videos of migrant arrests from across the country show ICE agents who have their face covered and refuse to give their name, show a badge or even identify what agency they work with. ICE is not acting alone. Instead, the Trump administration has mobilized almost every federal law enforcement to aid in the illegal immigrant arrests as agents have been ordered to arrest 3,000 illegal immigrants a day. FBI, DEA, Homeland Security Investigations (HSI,) and Border Patrol are among the agencies assisting ICE. The Trump administration has ordered officials to increase detentions to 3,000 migrants per day In cities like Los Angeles, federal agents have faced increasingly violent threats. Protestors have targeted them, following them and posting the location of their hotels online with comments like, ' Burn them.' Anti-ICE demonstrations include coordinated efforts to show up to hotels at night and honk, scream, play loud music, in an effort to disturb their sleep at night.

A North Yorkshire Police investigation found that Harbottle's requests for advance payments coincided with spikes in his gambling court was told that he used aliases and changed the name of his business to evade bad reviews. 'Kindness exploited' In one case, an 85-year-old woman paid Harbottle £2,500 to refurbish her bathroom. He gave six dates on which he would start the work, but never turned up nor contacted the victim customer paid more than £7,500 for multiple refurbishments in his hotel which were left unfinished or sub-standard. He also pre-purchased bathroom fittings worth more than £5,000 that Harbottle stole and sold on eBay. The victim suffered from lost revenue of about £20,000 as a result.A third victim paid £3,700 for a bathroom that was left damaged and never completed. Investigating officer PC Emily Blackwell said: "Thanks to our financial investigators, we were able to evidence that Harbottle would dishonestly obtain money from the victims, only to fund his gambling activities. "The kindness of the victims was completely exploited as he received additional payments by manipulating those generous enough to believe him."Not only have they suffered financially but they have also suffered psychological distress, losing trust in people and, in some cases, the worry has affected their physical health."
