Time of India28-07-2025
Samajwadi Party
MP
Dimple Yadav
on Monday said the NDA's outrage over a cleric's derogatory comments against her would be more meaningful had similar solidarity been shown during incidents like the violence in Manipur.
The cleric, Maulana Sajid Rashid, reportedly made a misogynistic comment about Yadav who was wearing a sari at a meeting in a mosque and compared her to another woman SP MP, Iqra Hasan, who had covered her head.

. NDA MPs also held a protest outside Parliament in protest.
"It's good that action is being taken now...But it would have been better if similar protests and support had been visible when horrifying incidents like the one in Manipur came to light through footage on social media. Back then, if people had stood together the way they are now over the
Operation Sindoor
issue, it would have shown genuine concern," Yadav said.

Fake FB clip on PM: HC grants bail to accused

Prayagraj: The Allahabad high court has granted bail to a man accused of sharing edited videos of Prime Minister Narendra Modi amid the context of Indo-Pak tensions and Operation Sindoor . Justice Krishan Pahal passed this order on Aug 4 on the condition that the accused— Shahrukh Khan— shall not tamper with the evidence during the trial and appear before the trial court on the fixed date. It was alleged in the FIR lodged at Sasani police station in Hathras district that the main accused Ashraf Khan edited and posted videos related to the India-Pakistan conflict. The FIR alleged that these acts were stated to be seditious, inciting war against the Indian govt and aimed at endangering India's sovereignty, unity and integrity. During the court proceedings, counsel for Shahrukh, who was arrested on May 16, argued that he was not named in the FIR and the main allegations concerned Ashraf Khan, who had allegedly uploaded the content. It was argued that Shahrukh was merely accused of sharing the video. It was further contended that he had nothing to do with the offence and that his account had been misused by somebody else. Considering the facts and circumstances, the court in its order dated Aug 4 found it a fit case to release the applicant on bail. Gujarat BJP's Har Ghar Tiranga plans: Spreading information about Operation Sindoor, cleaning memorials of freedom fighters

Gujarat BJP on Friday held a workshop on its campaign Har Ghar Tiranga at party's state headquarter Shree Kamalam in Gandhinagar in the presence of Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, national co-convener of the campaign V D Sharma, state general secretary Rajni Patel and state organising secretary Ratnakar. Quoting Sharma, an official party release said that the campaign is being carried out by the party while following a call from Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The release also stated that preparations will be carried out in all 580 mandals and 51,000 booths in Gujarat under the campaign. In each mandal, a Tiranga Yatra will be carried out and efforts will be made to disseminate information on action taken by India against terrorism through Operation Sindoor, air strike, and surgical strike. Under the campaign, programmes will be held to clean the memorials of those who made sacrifices for the freedom of the country and to offer them floral tributes. The workshop was attended by party MLAs, district presidents, concerned district prabharis (incharges), and state office bearers.

"Surrender Fake EPIC Card By August 16": Poll Body Sets Deadline For Tejashwi Yadav

Patna: The Election Commission on Friday told RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav that it was a crime to forge and use a bogus government document and set a deadline for him to submit his "apparently fake" Electoral Photo Identity Card (EPIC) by August 16. A fresh letter was issued to the Leader of the Opposition in the Bihar assembly by the Sub-Divisional Magistrate Patna (Sadar) cum Electoral Registration Officer (ERO) for Digha assembly constituency in this regard. The Official had last week written to the former Deputy CM, urging him to 'hand over for investigation' the voter card which he claimed to possess despite it having been 'not issued officially'. In the latest letter, the ERO said that a perusal of the voters list for the past several years has led to the conclusion that the EC had never issued the voter card with the EPIC number quoted by Yadav. "It appears that the aforementioned EPIC card is fake. Forging and using a bogus government document in the eyes of the law is a crime. You are once again requested to surrender your apparently fake EPIC card by 16/08/2025 till 5 pm," the letter read. Yadav had in a press conference on August 2 and said that a search conducted with his EPIC number was yielding the result 'no records found' in the draft electoral rolls prepared as part of Special Intensive Revision (SIR). When the claim was rejected by the District Administration in Patna, Yadav alleged that his EPIC number had been 'changed'. Later, Yadav admitted that he did have the voter ID card with the EPIC number quoted by the officials, but sought to blame them for issuance of two EPIC cards in his favour.
