Egypt's media chief discusses translating Egyptian TV dramas into Urdu - Screens - Arts & Culture

Head of Egypt's National Media Authority (NMA), Ahmed Al-Meslemany, has proposed translating Egyptian television dramas into Urdu, Pakistan's official language.
Al-Meslemany discussed the initiative with Pakistan's ambassador to Egypt, Aamir Shouket, during the latter's visit to the Egyptian state Television broadcaster (Maspero) this week.
Ambassador Shaukat toured the Naguib Mahfouz Studio at Maspero, where the two sides discussed expanding bilateral media and broadcasting cooperation.
Al-Meslemany outlined the NMA's vision for translating selected Egyptian dramas into Urdu, which he noted is one of the world's most widely spoken languages.
Ambassador Shaukat welcomed the initiative and suggested that the Urdu-subtitled Egyptian series could be broadcast on Pakistan's national television channels.

Yara Sameh Egyptian actor Amr Saad has signed on to star in the TV series "Abbas El Rayes". The series is produced by Sadek Sabbah and is set to screen during the Ramadan 2026 drama marathon. Saad participated last Ramadan with the star-studded TV series 'Saeed El Nass'. The cast also stars Elham Shahin, Khaled El Samy, Wafaa Amer, Mohamed Shahin, Reem Moustafa, Ahmed Zaher, Ghada Adel, Nashwa Moustafa, Ahmed Rizk, Tarek El Nahry, Menna Fadali, Dalia El Behery, Rana Raeis, and more. It is scripted by Khaled Salah, directed by Mohamed Sami, and produced by Cedars Art Production. "Saeed El Nass" was the biggest budget TV production in the drama marathon. The show marked Saad's comeback to the drama marathon after two years of absence. He made his last participation in the drama marathon with the 2023 TV series " Al Aghar ". Saad, born on November 26, 1977, in Al Sayeda Zainab neighborhood, graduated from the Faculty of Applied Arts. He began his artistic career in the late 1990s with "Shahin", followed by the film "Al Madina" by Yusra Nasrallah, and then appeared in the short film "Ten Pounds". Egypt, Jordan Hold 33rd Joint Higher Committee Meetings in Amman

Nada Mustafa Egyptian-Jordanian Joint Higher Committee is holding its meetings today, Tuesday, chaired by the Prime Ministers (PMs) of Egypt and Jordan. The meetings will be followed by the signing of several cooperation documents in various fields aimed at strengthening bilateral relations between the two countries and advancing them towards broader horizons. On Monday evening, Prime Minister (PM) Dr. Mostafa Madbouly departed from Alamein International Airport, heading a high-level delegation that includes a number of ministers and officials, to participate in the 33rd session of the Egyptian-Jordanian Joint Higher Committee, held in the Jordanian capital, Amman.
