CBSE Supplementary Exams 2025: Guidelines Issued For Practical Papers, Check Details
Who Will Appear for Practical Exams?
Class 12 Students:
Those marked as Repeat in Practial (RP) will only appear for the practical exam during the supplementary schedule. Their previous theory marks will be retained and carried forward.
Class 10 Students:
Students categorised under Repeat in Theory and Practical Both (RB) will have to appear for both theory and practical exams.
If a student was absent for Internal Assessment during the main exam, they will be awarded pro-rata internal marks based on theory performance in the supplementary exam. No fresh internal assessment will be conducted.
Practical Exam Venues
Regular candidates: Exams will be conducted in their respective schools.
Private candidates: Practical exams will be held at the theory exam centres. If facilities are lacking, the concerned Regional Office will arrange an alternate venue.
Appointment of Examiners
Class 12: External examiners will be appointed by the Regional Offices, while internal examiners will be from the schools themselves.
Class 10: Schools will handle internal arrangements, with Regional Offices stepping in for external examiners if needed.
Important dates
By July 7, 2025:
Students must report to their schools or examination centres with their result copy and admit card.
Practical Marks Upload:
Marks must be uploaded by schools or centres on the same day as the exam. Once submitted, marks cannot be modified.
Answer Books:
Only answer books supplied by CBSE Regional Offices should be used. All entries must be filled out carefully and accurately by the examiners.
Schools must compile a subject-wise list of examinees and coordinate with the Regional Office for the timely appointment of examiners.
Regional Offices will maintain centre-wise and subject-wise records, appoint external examiners, and ensure the smooth execution of the exam schedule and result submission.

Nidhi Singhal, Principal of Baselios Public School, is also a member. Sinha said, 'The Shrijan Sahodaya School Complex is founded under the philosophy of the CBSE's initiative of 'rising together' with a collection of ideals and shared commitment among forward-thinking schools to go beyond their individual boundaries for a greater educational goal. We discussed the understanding of the National Education Policy (NEP), enhancing skill education as well as strengthening the ethical and moral fabric, along with the holistic development of the young students. We aim to achieve this through year-long collaborative and structured programmes that would include teacher training, inter-school activities as well as collaborative student activities that will not be competitive in nature but focus on partnership.'

According to the minutes the governing body's meeting in June, the NCFSE 2023 'underscores the need to transition from rote memorisation to competency-based learning, with OBAs serving as a catalyst for this shift.' What is open book assessment? As a part of the Open book assessment, students are given questions where they they can take help of books in writing their answers. The board hopes that this initiative will reduce exam stress and strengthen conceptual understanding. How will CBSE implement open book assessments? The strategy, approved by the curriculum committee and ratified by the governing body, proposes that OBAs be part of the three pen-paper tests conducted each term in languages, mathematics, science and social science. The decision draws on a pilot study that avoided additional reading materials and tested cross-cutting themes from the curriculum. Student scores ranged from 12 per cent to 47 per cent, revealing 'challenges in effectively utilising resources and grasping interdisciplinary concepts.' Despite this, the minutes note that 'teachers expressed optimism about OBAs, noting their potential to foster critical thinking.' How will CBSE conduct Open Book exam? To ensure quality, CBSE will develop standardised sample papers and provide structured guidance to help students navigate reference materials and apply knowledge contextually. (AI Image) CBSE SHVR 2025-26: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has made it mandatory for all affiliated schools across India to participate in the Swachh Evam Harit Vidyalaya Rating (SHVR) 2025-26. The programme requires schools to complete the rating process by September 30, 2025. As per media reports, SHVR 2025-26 is designed to promote clean, green, and inclusive learning environments in schools. All schools with a UDISE code—including government, government-aided, private, residential, tribal, minority, and centrally run schools such as KVS and NVS—must take part in this initiative. As per media reports, the SHVR portal can be accessed at which also provides QR codes for mobile app downloads. Schools must use the "Login/Signup" option on the portal homepage to register and begin the rating process. Participation is compulsory and must be completed before the stated deadline. At the district level, eight schools will be considered for nomination—three each from Rural Category-I and II, and one each from Urban Category-I and II. At the state level, a maximum of 20 schools will receive the certificate of merit based on their SHVR scores. This includes seven schools from Rural Category-I, seven from Rural Category-II, and three each from Urban Category-I and II. Schools must meet national-level selection criteria for nomination. At the national level, 200 top-performing schools will be recognised. These include 70 schools each from Rural Category-I and Rural Category-II, and 30 each from Urban Category-I and Urban Category-II. As per media reports, certificates of merit will be awarded to these schools in recognition of their adherence to SHVR parameters. Programme aims to ensure sustainability practices in schools SHVR 2025-26 is designed to support schools in assessing their facilities and operations with an emphasis on sustainability and hygiene.
