New Straits Times12 hours ago

KUALA LUMPUR: Fans of legendary nasyid group Inteam have demonstrated their unwavering support, snapping up tickets for their 'Kasih Kekasih Inteam 25 Tahun' concert within just one hour of them going on sale recently.
This overwhelming response follows a recent change in date and venue, a move made to accommodate more fans after the initial concert date sold out in two hours back in May.
Originally scheduled for Sept 27 at Zepp Kuala Lumpur, the concert will now be held on Sept 28 at the Idea Live Arena in Petaling Jaya, which boasts a larger capacity of 5,000 seats.
In a heartfelt Instagram post, Inteam members expressed their gratitude: "Alhamdulillah. Thank you and congratulations to everyone who managed to secure tickets."
"Subhanallah. To those who didn't make it, we give your efforts an A+!"
The group also teased upcoming surprises at the concert, hinting at "good news" to be announced soon.
Formed in 2000, Inteam, whose current members are Mohd Syahril Abdul Khalid, Abdul Rahim Osman, and Hisyam Ahmad, continues to maintain a strong presence in the local music scene.
This 25th-anniversary concert will mark a major milestone in their career, celebrating over two decades of spiritual and musical impact.
In a particularly touching segment at the concert, the group will also pay tribute to their late former member, Suhaimi Saad, by featuring his two sons in a special appearance.
This heartfelt nod acknowledges his legacy and contribution to Inteam's journey.
With excitement building and fans eagerly awaiting further announcements, the 'Kasih Kekasih 25 Tahun' concert is shaping up to be a landmark celebration in Malaysia's nasyid music history.

HK superstar Aaron Kwok, 59, expecting 3rd child with wife Moka Fang

Photo: Moka Fang/Instagram Hong Kong superstar Aaron Kwok confirmed on Fathers Day that he will soon be a father of three. The 59-year-old was asked by the Hong Kong media on June 15 if his wife Moka Fang, 37, was pregnant again. 'I'm going to be a daddy again and I'm very happy,' he told the media at a movie event. 'I like a bustling home and I'm very willing to have another child.' Kwok and Fang tied the knot in 2017. They have two daughters aged seven and six, who are aware that a younger sibling is on the way. The singer-actor declined to disclose the gender of his third child. Fang first sparked rumours of her pregnancy on Mothers Day in May, when she posted on social media a photo of herself with a rounder face and a slight tummy. Kwok added to the speculation when he told the Hong Kong media that children are gifts from heaven, and he would leave it to nature whether his two daughters will have a younger brother or sister. The speculation grew later in June after Fang was seen wearing a loose-fitting dress while attending a racecourse event with her husband. Kwok is not the only Hong Kong artiste to disclose impending fatherhood on Fathers Day. Actor and former swimmer Alex Fong Lik Sun, 45, had announced on Valentine's Day in February that he tied the knot with his non-celebrity girlfriend Maple Yip, 30. He displayed a picture of two stick men on social media. On June 15, he showed the same picture of the two figures, but with a small stick man between them. 'I am going to be a father soon,' he wrote in Chinese, using the hashtag #itsawonderfonglife. 'My father is 80 years old this year and I wish him good health and a strong spirit.' Meanwhile, Taiwanese actress Ariel Lin confirmed on social media on June 16 that she has welcomed her second child, a boy. The 42-year-old has a three-year-old daughter with her husband, businessman Charles Lin. 'I recently came across a poem written by Kim McMillen, and I have to share it with you,' the actress wrote in Chinese, including the poem in her post. 'I would also like to share with you the joy of welcoming a new life, and the blessings and hopes for our children.' She also posted a photo of a small hand holding a finger. News of the birth was first reported by Mirror Media earlier on June 16. The Taiwanese magazine also broke the news of her pregnancy in March, and was the first media outlet to disclose her first pregnancy in 2021. – The Straits Times/Asia News Network

Ex-TVB star Sammy Sum once lived on only RM27 a day, with RM2K going to rent

Hong Kong-born actor Sammy Sum shot to stardom with his performance in the 2014 crime drama 'Line Walker'. Photo: Sammy Sum/Instagram Hong Kong-born actor and entrepreneur Sammy Sum has opened up about the financial struggles he endured during the early years of his career at TVB. In a recent interview with fellow actress Lee San San on her YouTube programme, the 42-year-old revealed that he once earned a monthly salary of HK$6,000 (RM3,243). Out of that, HK$4,000 (RM2,162) went towards rent for a tiny subdivided flat in Tsim Sha Tsui, leaving him with just HK$2,000 (RM1,081) to cover all other living expenses. To make ends meet, Sum took on part-time jobs, occasionally borrowed money from friends and would spend no more than HK$50 (RM27) a day. 'I used to walk from Tsim Sha Tsui to this barbecue shop in Mong Kok to buy two meal boxes for HK$20 (RM10) each. I was really just surviving on HK$50 a day,' he said, adding that he kept up with this lifestyle for nearly seven years. Despite the hardship, Sum pressed on out of his passion for acting and remained grateful for simply having a roof over his head. 'As long as I had a bed to sleep on, I was fine. I could chase my dreams with a simple heart, and that alone made me happy,' he added. Sum, who joined TVB in 2006, first gained popularity for his performance in the 2011 series Lives Of Omission . His breakout moment came in 2014 with the hit crime drama Line Walker , which earned him a nomination for Most Improved Male Artiste at the TVB Anniversary Awards. After his contract ended in 2016, Sum parted ways with TVB but made a return in 2020 to film two dramas – Final Destiny (2021) and I've Got The Power (2022). The actor later signed an exclusive deal with Emperor Entertainment Group in 2022, following the expiration of his TVB contract in July 2021.
