Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole beach wristband scheme starts
The beaches involved:Bournemouth: Alum Chine through to Fisherman's Walk, SouthbourneChristchurch: Avon, Friars Cliff, HighcliffePoole: Sandbanks, Shore Road, Branksome Chine
From 19 July, the beaches of Bournemouth, Boscombe, Alum and Durley Chine will have KidZone teams working alongside the rangers to give out wristbands to families.Kester Sheppard, RNLI lead lifeguard supervisor for East Dorset's beaches, said: "We know how easy it is for young children to become separated from their families while on a day out at the seaside."These wristbands allow us to reunite worried parents or carers with their little ones quickly and ensure that everyone makes it home safely and happily from our brilliant beaches this summer."BCP Council said last year it helped 118 lost people find their parents or carers.The safety scheme has been running during summers on the beaches since 2007.

People in 'danger' near cliffs spark St Davids RNLI response
At 9.33pm on Wednesday, August 13, St Davids all-weather lifeboat was requested to search the St Nons and Caerfai area. A report from a member of the public was concerned for people in difficulty at the bottom of the cliffs. St Davids RNLI answers late night call out (Image: NQ) St Davids lifeboat crew quickly located two persons in St Nons Bay who were leaving a sheltered spot via a narrow cliff path. Using the Tamar class lifeboat search lights to illuminate the situation, the lifeboat helped HM Coastguard - St Davids to rendezvous with the individuals. After a discussion with both the individuals who had come from the beach, it was determined to be a call out with good intentions, and no one was in difficulty. St Davids lifeboat and crew returned to station and were made ready for service by 10.30pm.

Cardigan RNLI rescue kayaker in trouble near Ceibwr
On Wednesday August 13, the crews D-Class lifeboat at Cardigan RNLI was paged at 2.33pm to investigate the welfare of a kayaker who was reportedly struggling to make progress near Ceibwr. The D-Class was launched and made speed towards Ceibwr however, as the lifeboat was rounding Cemaes head the Coastguard contacted the lifeboat to report that the Kayaker was now safe and well. The RNLI assisting in a late night call out (Image: Cardigan RNLI) Then at 11.29pm, following a Wednesday evening training session, the pagers sounded again with a request to launch the Atlantic to assist at a multi-agency incident in the Aberporth area. The Atlantic was launched and retired at 2am.

Man rescued from water after vessel runs aground at Felpham
A man has been rescued from the sea off West Sussex, HM Coastguard has said. A search was mounted after an empty vessel ran aground at Felpham beach with its motor still running at 17:00 BST on Thursday.A rescue helicopter, coastguards and RNLI lifeboats from Selsey and Littlehampton all joined the search. The casualty was found in the water at 19:35 and put into the care of South East Coast Ambulance Service. The man told coastguards he had entered the water around 15:00 after the side railing broke on the vessel.
