Jrue Holiday not on injury report in critical update for Celtics' Jalen Brunson plan
BOSTON — The Celtics will be at full strength Monday night for Game 1 of their Eastern Conference semifinal series against the Knicks.
Standout guard Jrue Holiday, who missed the final three games of Boston's opening-round series win over the Magic due to a hamstring strain, was not listed on the injury report.

In fact, no Celtics were.
'He was able to do everything that we worked on. He is getting better every day,' coach Joe Mazzulla said on Saturday.
Holiday, a two-time NBA champion and three-time all-defensive first team selection, will likely spend large portions of this series defending Knicks star Jalen Brunson.
Brunson put up impressive numbers during the regular season against the Celtics, averaging 26.7 points, five assists and shooting 43.3 percent from 3-point range.

The Knicks, however, were swept in four games, and only the final meeting was close, a two-point victory for Boston in overtime.
Celtics All-Star wing and reigning NBA Finals MVP Jaylen Brown also appears healthy after dealing with a right knee impingement against the Magic.

He played in all five games against Orlando, and produced 23.0 points, 7.6 rebounds and shot 44.4 percent from 3-point range in 35.8 minutes.
Josh Hart faulted Pistons guard Tim Hardaway Jr. for not getting the call at the controversial end of Game 4 of the opening-round series in comments on his 'Roommates Show' podcast with Brunson.

With the Knicks leading by one, Hart appeared to make contact with Hardaway on a 3-point attempt, but no foul was called.

'If he just shot the ball, who knows what could've happened. … But he kinda shot-faked,' Hart said. 'He was being very unethical, and the whole series Detroit was on [Brunson] about foul-baiting, and then [Hardaway] decided at the most important time in Game 4, he was like 'You know what, ah, let's try this foul-baiting thing out,' and it didn't work, and now they were mad.'
Brunson added: 'Tim's going to text me and have some choice words for me, and I can't wait for it.'

Doc Rivers tells Kobe Bryant story from 2008 NBA Finals: 'He put that fear in you, man' Kobe Bryant, the late Los Angeles Lakers great, was one of the greatest basketball players and overall athletes of all time. He led the Lakers to five NBA championships, and he was not only one of the greatest crunch-time performers ever but, in the minds of some, he was possibly the greatest closer ever. Even when the Lakers were down by double digits in the fourth quarter of a game, fans often thought there was still a chance the team could pull out a victory because of Bryant's exploits under pressure and his lack of fear. Like anyone else, he had his share of lowlights, and one of the worst moments of his career came when L.A. was embarrassed in the 2008 NBA Finals by the archrival Boston Celtics. It lost Game 6, 131-92, in Boston as the Celtics claimed their 17th championship, and although the Celtics were ahead by a wide margin down the stretch, head coach Doc Rivers could still feel the fear that Bryant always put in the minds and hearts of opponents. Celtics defensive coordinator Tom Thibodeau wanted Rivers to take his starters out midway through the fourth quarter, but Rivers refused because he feared that Bryant could get L.A. back in the game. Via Fox Sports: 'Game 6 was terrific,' Rivers said. 'That's a moment that I remember in 2008. The funniest moment, Kobe knows this, but we were up 1,000 [points] in Game 6 and the guy who you would least expect walks over to me during the game -- Tom Thibodeau -- and he asks me, 'Are you going to sub out? There's six minutes and we're up 42 points.' 'Of all the guys to say that, it's Tom Thibodeau. And I looked over there at the Lakers and Kobe was still on the floor, and I actually said, 'When Phil [Jackson] takes that guy out, I take my guys out.' And Thibs said, 'You're safe.' And I said, 'Not with that guy on the floor.' 'I was dead serious. I had obviously lost my mind because it was a 42-point lead. But he put that fear in you, man. He could run off threes. I was obviously not good at math, so I was worried about him. Then finally Phil took him out so I could sub. It was good.' The type of deficit the Lakers faced in the fourth quarter of that game was one even Bryant couldn't overcome. The embarrassment they suffered bonded the team together, and coming into next season, it was clearly on a mission. It won the 2009 NBA title, but it defeated the Orlando Magic and not the Celtics. The Lakers finally got another shot at the men in green in the 2010 finals, and this time, they won it all, as they overcame a 13-point deficit in the third quarter of Game 7. Bryant shot 6-of-24 from the field in that seventh game, but he played very well for most of the second half and especially in the fourth quarter, as he found ways to be efficient offensively while also contributing in other areas. For those who paid attention to his excellent play down the stretch of the game, it reinforced his image as arguably basketball's ultimate closer.

The Shreveport (La.) Evangel Christian high four-star is not the biggest quarterback in the world but that's what everyone said about Kyler Murray, Bryce Young and so many others. In today's game, quarterback height is less important than ever before. Houston is a playmaker and even if a camp setting isn't the best for him, the four-star still delivered in a major way. Over the last few days, Jarrard has visited Purdue, Notre Dame and Clemson and heading into the Atlanta camp he had received offers from Georgia and Ohio State as the 2027 four-star from Kennesaw (Ga.) North Cobb is one of the hottest quarterbacks in the entire country. The ball pops off Jarrard's hand. He has velocity, timing and everything else to back up all the attention he's received on the recruiting trail. The Atlanta Camp was loaded at quarterback and even though Jarrard didn't win the MVP award, he was definitely impressive and one of the best QBs at any Rivals regional camp. To beat out Teddy Jarrard, North Carolina commit Travis Burgess, Mississippi State pledge Brodie McWhorter and others for the MVP award, Johnson had a phenomenal performance at the Atlanta camp which was one of many this offseason. The 2027 four-star quarterback from Valdosta (Ga.) Lowndes was sharp, showed off great arm talent, had a clean motion throughout the event and then seemed to get better and better throughout the camp. It was a close race at the top but Johnson edged out some other elite quarterbacks. The five-star quarterback was fantastic as always at the Los Angeles stop and what's even more impressive is that a camp setting is not where Lyons does his best work. The Folsom, Calif., standout sat in the pocket and zipped passes all over the field. He knows when to dial it back a little bit and has such an unreal feel for receivers and immediately having chemistry with them. Lyons is best when he can freelance a little bit, escape pressure and make magic happen and that's not a camp setting but he was still great. Oregon, BYU, Michigan and others continue after him. It's hard to believe that Wade is a 2028 prospect because he has all the tools and is physically developed enough that it wouldn't be a shock to anyone if he reclassified because he doesn't need three more high school seasons. He's now the guy at Bradenton (Fla.) IMG Academy and he should shine because he is a special prospect who will clearly be under five-star consideration. Wade was arguably the best quarterback at the loaded Los Angeles event, which is always so deep at the position. Even still, the 2028 prospect stood out. He has the total package from decision-making to arm talent and beyond. Oregon, Texas and others have already made an impression.

While Baltimore is not a confirmed deadline seller, trading Bautista may further strengthen their farm system, setting up the potential for star-caliber acquisitions in the offseason. Advertisement Although Bautista's star has fallen slightly after Tommy John Surgery cost him the entire 2024 season, he has rebounded well. In 21.2 innings of work, the 30-year-old has posted a 3.32 ERA, 28 strikeouts, and 12 saves in 2025. His fastball velocity has dipped post-surgery, but the former All-Star still has the track record any team would want come time for the playoffs. In 2023, Bautista notched 33 saves and 110 strikeouts over 61 innings en route to an All-Star game nod. While he may not be the same player, banking on Bautista in a late-inning role is the aggressive move Phillies' president of baseball operations, Dave Dombrowski, is known to make.
