One of the three pairs of brothers stole the show right away at the Zurich Classic of New Orleans. Nicolai and Rasmus Højgaard signed for a Best Ball 13-under 59 as the twins seemingly could not miss on Thursday.
They tied the course record for TPC Louisiana, but that number did not hold for much longer.
The twins felt the conditions were perfect, though.
"Even though we played where you clean the ball or pick and clean, you still get a little bit less spin on the fairway," Nicolai said. "So it was still wet —you didn't have to control it. Then the sun came out, and you had perfect conditions. But there's barely any wind, and we took advantage of that."

His brother Rasmus agreed and felt the life, clean and place rule helped them in some areas.
"Even some of the shots around the greens gets a little easier because you can place the ball," he explained. "As the day went on, a little wind showed up, but still out there right now, it feels comfortable with the amount of wind there is."
The twins made the turn in 31 strokes after each one made two birdies. On their back nine, they came home in just 28 shots.

Salinda made four birdies and an eagle on the par-5 7th. However, Velo made sure that as a team, they had a birdie or better on every hole of the front nine.
His birdies at the par-4 1st, par-4 8th, and par-3 9 saw them make the turn in 26 strokes.
Salinda carried the team on the back nine, adding four more birdies to the scorecard to come home in 31 strokes. Neither guy went cold, but the former Stanford golfer could not miss.
"He made a ton of putts," Velo said about Salinda. "He one putted damn near every green it seemed like. Very easy to play golf when you have a partner that's stacking it and making a lot of putts..."

They credited their success to their long-time friendship and being comfortable around each other.
"It's more important to play with someone you like and enjoy playing with, one of your friends," Salinda said. "It's really cool. We've known each other since we were young junior golfers. We've stayed incredibly close friends since, and we've been looking forward to this event for a while."
The duo had a chance to record a 57, but missed their putts on 18 and settled for a 58.
Friday's format will be an alternate shot, posing a harder challenge. It is the toughest format, as it tends to be when the scores do not go nearly as low.
There is a lot of golf left, but it is always fun to see a duo break the four-ball course record.

Bryson DeChambeau's LIV Golf Status Sidelines Him From Ryder Cup Warm-Up

Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. Newsweek AI is in beta. Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. Bryson DeChambeau has been one of the most dominant American golfers this season. With a win in Korea, seven top-10 finishes on the LIV Golf circuit, and top-five performances in three majors, he's earned his place on Team USA, as confirmed by Ryder Cup captain Keegan Bradley after The Open. (Photo by) More Getty Images It will mark DeChambeau's return to Ryder Cup action after being left off the 2023 squad by former captain Zach Johnson. But while his spot on the team is secure, his path to preparation is not. Earlier this summer, Bradley announced his intention to get his team to tee it up at the Procore Championship, a PGA Tour event in Napa, which is scheduled to take place just two weeks before the Ryder Cup. The idea was to keep the players sharp, build chemistry, and avoid the rust that plagued the Americans in Rome two years ago. "No one is required to go," Bradley clarified to Sports Illustrated. "But the boys feel like this is the best course of action to be ready to play at their highest level at Bethpage". Scottie Scheffler, who leads the Ryder Cup standings and shot a 66 in the opening round of the BMW Championship this week, has already committed to playing in Napa. "Outside of some extenuating circumstances, I'll probably be playing in Napa," Scheffler told reporters on Thursday. "It's important for me to get out and get some competitive reps before the Ryder Cup. I felt like last time was maybe a bit too much time off." But for DeChambeau, that door is closed. "Well, he's suspended," Bradley stated on Thursday after teeing at the BMW Championship. "And that's out of my control." As a LIV Golf member, DeChambeau remains ineligible for PGA Tour competition. A Tour spokesperson confirmed to Sports Illustrated that he "is not eligible for PGA Tour competition." Even with a sponsor's exemption, he would need formal permission from the Tour, something that appears unlikely. "I thought the Ryder Cup sort of transcends all of this," Bradley added, as per reports. "And really, the last thing on my mind is the PGA Tour-LIV stuff." Additionally, DeChambeau's agent, Brett Falkoff, told Sports Illustrated that "Bryson plans to participate in every team gathering that he is permitted to attend." With just days left between the end of the LIV season and the Ryder Cup, DeChambeau may seek competitive reps elsewhere. The DP World Tour's Irish Open, held the week before Napa, is a possibility, though he'd need an invitation. Currently ranked No. 5 in the U.S. Ryder Cup standings with 10,774.98 points, DeChambeau is projected to qualify automatically. He also holds the No. 17 spot in the Official World Golf Ranking, despite LIV events not awarding OWGR points. Bradley remains optimistic about DeChambeau's readiness. "It's sort of been on Bryson to come to us," he said as quoted. "And he's been great about that. Bryson is going to keep himself ready. That's who he is."
