Israel Levels 300 Homes in Gaza's Zeitoun in Three-Day Offensive

DaysofPal – Israeli occupation aircraft launched airstrikes at dawn on Thursday, coinciding with continuous artillery shelling of the Zeitoun neighborhood (southeast of Gaza City). The Israeli army destroyed 300 homes in three days, following the approval of a plan to completely occupy the Gaza Strip.
This comes a day after hospitals documented the deaths of 100 Palestinians as a result of Israeli shelling on various areas of the Gaza Strip since dawn yesterday, including 38 aid recipients.
The Zeitoun neighborhood, one of the largest neighborhoods in Gaza City and located in the southeastern part of the city, has been subjected to an ongoing military operation for several days, including shelling and the demolition of homes, resulting in the displacement and massacres of Palestinian families still inside.
The southern areas of the Zeitoun neighborhood are adjacent to the Gaza Valley, which the Israeli army calls the Netzarim Axis, and this area is under Israeli control. Palestinians are prohibited from settling there or traveling there, except to receive alleged American aid.
In this context, Mahmoud Basal, a spokesman for the Palestinian Civil Defense in Gaza, told Anadolu Agency that the Israeli army has been carrying out a concentrated military operation in the Zeitoun neighborhood for several days, including intensive shelling and house demolition.
The Palestinian spokesman added that the Israeli army has destroyed more than 300 homes in the neighborhood over the past three days, committing massacres against a number of Palestinian families after blowing up the homes with their occupants inside.
He explained that the occupation army is carrying out the demolition operations using high-explosive bombs that destroy the surroundings of the targeted home, with the aim of inflicting maximum damage.
The Civil Defense spokesman confirmed that the Israeli army has, during this short period, begun intensively targeting inhabited residential buildings, some of which are more than five stories tall, spreading terror among their residents and forcing some to flee.

Israeli Plan to Build 4k Settlement Units in Salfit, Jerusalem

DaysofPal- Israeli occupation has approved six new tenders for constructing and expanding settlements in the West Bank, totaling 4,000 new units in Salfit and Jerusalem. The tenders are aimed at the settlements of Ariel, located on the lands of Salfit Governorate, and Ma'ale Adumim, located on the lands of Jerusalem Governorate. According to the Wall and Settlement Resistance Authority, three tenders are designated for expanding the new Ariel West neighborhood, which will see the construction of 730 new settlement units. The remaining three tenders target the expansion of Ma'ale Adumim, with the largest tender, No. 320/2025, planning for 2,902 new units. The Ma'ale Adumim expansion plans were officially approved in July 2025, while the Ariel plans were approved in May 2025. The rapid issuance of tenders following approval raises questions about the Israeli methodology and underscores a strategy of racing against time to impose new facts on the ground. Maps attached to the Ariel West tender show the site is more than two kilometers from the original Ariel settlement, suggesting the Israeli occupation intends to establish a new settlement without officially announcing it. The expansion of these settlements comes amid ongoing Palestinian concerns about land confiscation, displacement, and the consolidation of Israeli control over occupied territories, which are considered illegal under international law. Observers say the move reflects the continued Israeli policy of settlement expansion in the West Bank, further complicating prospects for a two-state solution. Shortlink for this post:

Smotrich Greenlights Settlement to ‘Bury' Palestinian Statehood

DaysofPal – Israel's far-right Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich has announced plans to approve thousands of new housing units in one of the most contentious and long-delayed settlement projects in the occupied West Bank, declaring the move would 'bury the idea of a Palestinian state.' In a statement on Wednesday, Smotrich said he would authorize tenders for more than 3,000 homes in the E1 area, a project that would link Jerusalem to the large settlement of Maale Adumim, several kilometers to the east. 'Approval of construction plans in E1 buries the idea of a Palestinian state and continues the many steps we are taking on the ground as part of the de facto sovereignty plan that we began implementing with the establishment of the government,' he said, describing the project as 'Zionism at its best.' Smotrich, who also serves in the Ministry of Defence with broad powers over West Bank settlement approvals, celebrated breaking 'decades of international pressure and freezes' to connect Maale Adumim to Jerusalem. Strategic Impact on Palestinian Territory Critics and observers have long warned that construction in E1 would have grave consequences for any future Palestinian state. The project's location would cut the occupied West Bank into northern and southern sections, severing East Jerusalem from Palestinian urban centers like Bethlehem and Ramallah and making a contiguous Palestinian territory virtually impossible. The plan had been postponed in 2022 under US pressure, but Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's far-right coalition has revived it in recent months. The government has already approved road expansions in the area and restricted Palestinian access. Israeli settlement leaders hailed the announcement as a historic breakthrough. Israel Gantz, head of the Yesha Council, the umbrella organization representing settlers, and the Binyamin Regional Council, called it a 'tremendous and historic achievement' and a 'true revolution in strengthening the settlement enterprise.' Maale Adumim mayor Guy Yifrach described the project as a 'Zionist response of settlement and nation-building' and claimed it would thwart what he called Palestinian 'illegal construction' aimed at establishing a foothold in the area. Wider Settlement Expansion According to Israeli anti-settlement watchdog Peace Now, a total of 4,030 new housing units were approved on Wednesday across the occupied West Bank. These include 730 units west of the Ariel settlement and 3,300 in a new Maale Adumim neighborhood that will connect it to its eastern industrial zone. Peace Now noted that the Maale Adumim expansion alone represents a 33% increase in the settlement's housing stock, a significant boost for a community whose population has hovered around 38,000 for the past decade. The group added that this scale of expansion raises 'serious questions about the need for the E1 plan' itself. Shortlink for this post:
