The current characters played by Hiba Nawab and Krushal Ahuja will be shown dead following the leap.
Jhanak, featuring Hiba Nawab and Krushal Ahuja, is all set to undergo a dramatic generation leap. This means the beloved lead actors will bid farewell to the show, leaving fans disappointed. With this change, the makers aim to boost TRP ratings. Ever since the announcement was made, fans have been speculating about the new faces who would be replacing the lead actors.
While names like Erica Fernandes and Zohaib Siddiqui were initially in talks, the actors who will be headlining the show have finally been confirmed. Any guesses? The latest developments reveal that the production house has locked in three leads for their serial. Filmibeat, in its report, mentioned that Arjit Taneja, Twinkle Arora, and Riya Sharma have been finalised as the new leads.
The current characters played by Hiba Nawab and Krushal Ahuja will be shown dead following the leap. The new trio is expected to commence shooting soon, though an official announcement from the channel and production house is still awaited.
Arjit Taneja recently wrapped up shooting for Kaise Mujhe Tum Mil Gye, while Riya Sharma was last seen in Dhruv Tara. Twinkle Arora, on the other hand, gained recognition for her performance in Udaariyaan, where she was paired with Hitesh Bharadwaj and Vivian Dsena.
The decision to introduce a generation leap, reportedly after IPL 2025, stems from an order issued by the programming team of Star Plus to the production house to achieve a minimum TRP of 2. An industry source told Filmibeat that while Jhanak is performing well, the channel is pushing for higher numbers.
'The channel and the production house have made up their mind to introduce a generation leap after IPL 2025. Star Plus has issued a diktat to the production house to increase the ratings or shut shop. Jhanak is doing well in terms of ratings at the 10:30 pm slot; however, the channel is unhappy with the numbers. They want the show to generate at least 2 TVRs in the late-night slot. One has to consider that shows like Jaadu Teri Nazar, Anupama, and Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai have also witnessed a massive drop in their viewership. It seems the channel is only focusing on Jhanak, which is a bit unfair," reported the media outlet.
Fans now eagerly wait to see how this new generation will carry forward the intriguing narrative of Jhanak.

Ricky Ponting Stumps Preity Zinta With Reply To "So Aggressive Yet So Calm" Question

One of the most successful captains of his time, Ricky Ponting is an icon in the global cricketing spectrum. Now a coach and mentor, Ponting played a pivotal role in Punjab Kings' qualification into the final of the IPL 2025 season. Though the franchise lost the title-decider to Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), Ponting's efforts received praise from all across the cricketing spectrum. However, there are certain traits of Ponting, the coach, that the franchise's co-owner, Preity Zinta, hasn't been able to understand. In a candid chat with the PBKS coach, Preity asked how someone like Ponting, who was so aggressive as a cricketer on the field, can be so calm in the dugout? "How does somebody be so aggressive on the ground and as a person, but be so calm and chilled out?," the actress asked. Ponting stumped Zinta with his reply, saying that it isn't actually the case. To experience this, she should come down from the stands and sit with him in the dugout. "You need to come and sit next to me in the dugout sometimes, because you will see that it's not always calm. Look, I'm an aggressive-natured person, especially when it's cricket time," the former Australia captain said. "I'll have a laugh and a joke and a coffee and a sit down with anyone and talk about anything outside of cricket time. But when it's cricket time, it's my job to bring high performance to this team. And so I'm not gonna waste a minute, I'm not gonna waste a day, I'm not gonna waste a training session where I'm not trying to be the best coach that I can be and make every single player that's playing with me the best player that they can be," said Ponting.

While Punjab, led by Shreyas Iyer were also in the quest for a maiden crown, it was their rivals that prevailed. The former Australian international and legend also showered praise on his side after the defeat in the final, and took pride in the fact that the team showcased something 'different' this year. In a recent clip posted on PBKS's official X handle, the coach takes out his 'funny' side in an interaction with co-owner and Bollywood star Preity Zinta . The latter was urged to do something never seen before by the coach in response to a question regarding his alternating demeanour while representing the franchise. "How does somebody be so aggressive on the ground and as a person, but be so calm and chilled out?", asked Zinta as she expressed her curiosity on the 50-year-old's behavior on the pitch.
