Band to host Glasgow gigs to celebrate two iconic albums
As part of the shows, the band, founded in Glasgow in 1994, will perform at the Kelvingrove Bandstand on June 26 and 27, 2026.

Both of the records, Tigermilk and If You're Feeling Sinister, were released in 1996.
(Image: Anna Isola Crolla) Since then, they have attained 'mythic status' - 'greatest of all time' - with songs from them spending decades 'populating mixtapes and playlists.
Currently, the Scottish indie pop group consists of Stuart Murdoch, Stevie Jackson, Sarah Martin, Chris Geddes, Richard Colbrum, Bobby Kildea, and Dave McGowan.
They are known for their tunes, including The Boy With the Arab Strap, Get Me Away from Here, I'm Dying, Piazza, New York Catcher, Sleep the Clock Around, and Another Sunny Day.

Tickets for the band's Glasgow concert will go on sale from Friday, August 22, at 10am.

Fundraiser launched for volunteers who found body of comedian in mountains
The family of Scottish comedian Gary Little have launched a fundraiser for the volunteers who found his body in the Highlands on Friday. Little had been hillwalking on Five Sisters of Kintail in the Highlands when he failed to return home. His body was later recovered by Kintail Mountain Rescue, assisted by Glenelg Mountain Rescue Team, Police Scotland and the Coastguard. Police confirmed that the death was being treated as 'unexplained, but not suspicious'. A report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal in due course. The 61-year-old was a regular at comedy clubs in Scotland as well as the Edinburgh Fringe and Glasgow International Comedy Festival. Following the news of Little's death, tributes poured in on social media from comedy clubs and comedians alike, highlighting his comedic skill and 'joy he brought to the world'. His sisters, Lorraine, Alison, Karen, and Claire, have launched a fundraiser for Kintail Mountain Rescue in honour of their late brother, who they described as an 'avid mountain walker'. So far, £2,160 has been raised. The GoFundMe read: 'As a family we are so very grateful that the volunteers from Kintail Mountain Rescue stayed with him until the help of HMCG Helicopter from Stornaway arrived and this comforts us knowing 'the big man was not alone'. 'As an avid mountain walker Gary was appreciative of the work these volunteer based organizations done and how valuable they are so any donation would be extremely appreciated. Lenny Henry says TV industry ‘still struggling' to do black hair and make up
The comedian, 66, picked up the outstanding achievement award at the Edinburgh TV Festival on Wednesday and reflected on his career and experience starting out in the industry in the 1970s. 'It was hard, you know? I mean, they didn't have a light for me', he told the festival. Sir Lenny Henry made his TV debut in 1975 'I called it the negro light. I said, 'Break out the negro light' and they'd bring out this big-ass spotlight and point it at me.' Sir Lenny, who made his TV debut on British talent show New Faces in 1975, said someone who worked at the BBC 'started to realise that I needed different lighting to those guys'. 'Also there's the thing on (TV series) Three Of A Kind where all the wigs were for white people,' he said. 'So we had Michael Howard and Dave Allen's wigs, and they never had any wigs for me. 'I had to get some dreadlocks for a character. So they sent me to the London wig company, and they made some dreadlocks for me. 'And then a year later, they had more stuff for me to do, and they got nearer, closer to what they should be like. 'And so I sort of began a whole thing where they had to know how to make black hair, and they had to know how to do black make up.' He added: 'They're still struggling with it. People like (make up artists) Jan Sewell and Sally Sutton really knew how to do it, because they did it on my show. 'But before then, they never had to do it. 'I went to a black make up lady on The Fosters in 1976 and I thought, 'Oh, it's going to be like this. There's going to be people that do make up for us'. 'Once The Fosters was over I never saw her again.' Sir Lenny was born in Dudley, near Birmingham, in 1958, and shot to fame in 1975 when his stand-up comic routine won TV talent show New Faces. After his TV debut, Sir Lenny appeared on landmark black working-class comedy The Fosters, and comedy sketch show Three Of A Kind, before landing his own self-titled show in the mid-1980s. In 1985 he co-founded Comic Relief, and in 2015 he was knighted in the Queen's Birthday Honours for services to drama and charity. A year later he was presented with a special Bafta award in recognition of his outstanding contribution to television and in 2020 he helped to launch an independent body that examines representation in journalism, acting, film, television and radio in the UK called the Sir Lenny Henry Centre for Media Diversity. In February he received the Freedom of the City of London and in May he and filmmaker Richard Curtis accepted a philanthropy award recognising Comic Relief's efforts to address inequality and poverty.

Boden's 'gorgeous' £250 coat perfect for autumn now £100
Boden shoppers have been raving about a trench coat that they say is perfect for autumn. The Windsor Heritage Mac was £250 but is now £100, offering a £150 save for fashion enthusiasts. The coat is available in petite and regular fits with UK sizes ranging from eight to 22 while sizes four and six are currently unavailable. The Windsor Heritage Mac comes in a rich hazelnut brown and a "jazzy" checked lining which makes this coat stand out. You could easily style it with a pair of denim jeans, a thin jumper, and your favourite tee underneath for a more completed look. Boden's description of the Windsor Heritage Mac reads: "Our Windsor heritage mac is just about as British as a cup of tea and queuing. We've taken the classic mac and modernised it with a boxier cut and raglan sleeves, then finished it with a jazzy checked lining that peeks out at the collar and cuffs too." The mac is made out of 100% cotton in the main section while the lining is crafted from 100% cotton. It also comes with functional pockets, as do most of Boden's clothing, but they are tacked closed to help the garment hold its shape. The tacking is designed to be removed. The Windsor Heritage Mac also comes with an oversized look – a loose fitting which means there is plenty of room to move. It is also designed to fall at mid-calf and has a button fastening at the front. While the coat is water-resistant Boden recommends that it is dry clean only. If you are looking for a similar looking coat that is ideal for the autumn but from an alternative retailer Next has the Trench Coat with Contrast Collar in khaki green colour for £85. Meanwhile the Faux Suede Belted Trench Coat in a tan colour from New Look has a cheaper price tag at £45. Back at Boden the Windsor Heritage Mac has received a rating of 4.5 out of five stars based on 29 reviews. "Oh my goodness, could this coat be any more perfect," one customer said. "Beautifully made and the fabric is a perfect weight for an Australian winter. The lining is just that hint of fun that Boden is so well known for. I did downsize this coat as our Winter weather here in Melbourne AU doesn't call for bulking up with a huge amount of layers and I'm glad I did. It will wear perfectly with a shirt and a thin jumper. I purchased a 14 and I normally wear a 16 but I'll still state the sizing is spot on. Extremely happy with this classic Mac." Another buyer reviewed: "I love love this mac coat. It's very high quality, the colour is fabulous and fit is true to size. I prefer a slightly oversized look, so will be exchanging for the next size up. Great value for the money. The checked inside lining is a great touch. Don't wait, get your size before it is gone." A third remarked: "Just what I have been looking for. Can't wait to wear in the autumn. Perfect sizing too". But not everyone was happy with their purchase. One reviewer commented: "Beautiful well made coat with a lovely cheerful check lining. Liked the colour and it fitted true to size. Unfortunately for me it was heavier than I expected, and it was quite a straight coat. I was looking for a lighter more flared shape, so sadly had to return it, but a very nice coat for the right person." However, most were happy with the coat. "Beautiful mac/raincoat," one said. "Excellent quality. Very stylish and wonderful colour with the check adding extra style. I can't wait to wear it. I am just short of 5ft (ordered petite) and it fit perfectly. They say you get what you pay for. Extremely, good value for money. Thank you."
