Unsung Snappers are the real heroes of social media
They are the Unsung Snappers — the real heroes of social media.
New research commissioned by Samsung Electronics Australia has prompted them to shine a light on the often-overlooked heroes of social media.
Almost half of those surveyed, admitting to taking photos for a partner, friend or family member's social media at least once a week and about 70 per cent say that taking photos for social media can impact their ability to simply enjoy the moment.
Joshua Gross, Sophie Monk's husband, who uses a Galaxy S25 Edge, is all too familiar with the work required of an Unsung Snapper.
'If the shot doesn't work out, it's on me. While I'm lucky to have a gorgeous subject, I'll often take hundreds of shots to make sure we get 'the one'. There's always the risk of uncontrollable aspects — weather conditions or someone walking into frame without us realising.
'While I'm focused on securing the perfect shot, I have to put my muse first, and with the Galaxy S25 Edge, Samsung has made it easier for hard-working Unsung Snappers like me to get an amazing photo.'
Almost a third of those surveyed have said they frequently get asked to retake a photo by a partner or friend as they aren't happy with their facial expression, with the same percentage of respondents citing that photos are often ruined by someone or something in the background.
Innovative AI editing tools in phone cameras such as the Galaxy S25 Edge mean that Unsung Snappers can make easy and efficient tweaks to photos. Features like Object Eraser, Best Face and Audio Eraser enable quick fixes to problems like photobombers, crowd noises and untimely blinking without having to retake shots.
A Samsung spokesperson says the Galaxy S25 Edge gives photographers the tools they need to nail the shot — so they can focus on and enjoy the moment.

Samsung Bespoke AI Jet Ultra review: Powerful performance, sleek design and some questionable AI
I tested the Samsung Bespoke AI Jet Ultra, and at $1700, I gave it a full review of the pros and cons so you can shop confidently. There is no shortage of attachments when you unbox the Jet Ultra. The standard head is what Samsung calls the 'Active Dual Brush', and for most general vacuuming, this thing does the job with no complaints. There is a Slim LED Brush that is designed to get into hard-to-reach places like under furniture, and a specific Pet Tool for sorting out pet hair. The mop head attachment or 'Spray Spinning sweeper' lets you clean hard floors with a built-in water tank and reusable micro fibre pads. The All-in-one cleaning station is for me a very neat solution to two problems I have with most stick vacs. Charging and emptying. Having a home for the vacuum that doesn't need screwing to a wall or require fussing about with charging cables is a huge tick for me. The in-built dust bag, though, should not be understated, when you have finished cleaning and return the Jet Ultra to its home, the All-in-one cleaning station opens a little trapdoor and sucks all the contents into a 2L bag leaving the vacuum empty and ready for the next clean. As someone who is frustrated by bagless vacuums and the amount of dust you have to deal with when emptying it's refreshing to see bags making a comeback. Does it suck? (in a good way) The Bespoke AI Jet Ultra comes with five settings for suction power from min to Jet, with a much-hyped 'AI' mode in the middle there that Samsung is super excited about. As you cycle through the different modes, the screen shows you how much battery life you can expect with a somewhat ominous countdown to empty! I was very impressed with the power from the Bespoke AI Jet Ultra, and to be completely honest, I think five levels of suction is a bit excessive. Mid and Max do the job, Jet feels like it could lift a small car, Min is a waste of time, and the AI mode was, well, meh. Overall, though, it's hard to fault the cleaning performance of the vacuum, with a unit at this price point, you expect that. However, the mop head did feel a little bit underwhelming. Ergonomics The wand is telescopic, no surprises there, and there isn't a trigger to make it go, just the power button with a plus and minus to skip through the modes. I loved seeing that the trigger was missing, as in the past using other stick vacs, it can get a bit straining holding down the trigger for a big clean, so huge tick there! The Bespoke AI Jet Ultra is powerful and has a bunch of tech squeezed in, but it does come at the price of weight. The standard configuration has the unit weighing in around the 3kg mark, and you notice it. Vacuuming out the car with the combination tool does bring the weight down, but it is a bit of a strain by the time you move to the back seats. Is it AI or nah? It seems like everywhere you go these days, we are constantly being told that AI is in everything. Sometimes it's legit, and the products are made genuinely more intelligent and helpful by their AI features. Other times it feels like the brand is putting an AI sticker on the product to tick a box and say, 'look everyone! We're doing the AI thing!!' In the case of the Bespoke AI Jet Ultra, it very much feels like the latter. The AI mode is marketed to use artificial intelligence to adapt to changing floor types, changing brush speed and suction power to suit. In practice, though, it's a bit underwhelming. The adaptive cleaning doesn't feel 'intelligent', it feels gimmicky. I get it, though. AI is all anyone in tech is talking about at the moment, and Samsung has a bunch of AI features across their new product lineup, some of which are genuinely exciting and impressive like the AI upscaling on their new line of tv's, or the tightly integrated AI food recognition in their new fridges. The AI sticker on the side of this vacuum, though, feels like just a sticker. Similarly, the SmartThings app integration feels like an app for the sake of an app, and aside from being able to let phone calls interrupt your vacuuming, there isn't much in the app that is blowing my mind. Final thoughts The Samsung Bespoke AI Jet Ultra is a very good stick vacuum. And when held up against other machines in the segment, it outperforms a lot of them. The dock is brilliant, the power is unrivalled, and it really is a great addition to any home. But, and this is an important but, the thing to keep in mind is it isn't cheap. Though, $1,700 bucks is a lot for a vacuum but in saying that, it is a very good vacuum. I do think, though, the app for apps' sake and the AI for AI's sake is a bit of a shame.

Samsung's sleek Galaxy A26 phone is now under $400 – but you will need to be quick
If you've been putting off a phone upgrade, this might be your sign. The Samsung Galaxy A26 5G, already a solid budget-friendly pick from the brand's A Series line-up, is now on sale for just $397 on Amazon Australia, marked down from its usual $499. That's a 20 per cent saving on a smartphone that packs a serious punch for the price. The Galaxy A26 5G is made for those who want a premium feel without the premium price tag. It boasts a sleek, streamlined design in a versatile matte black and is built to handle everyday life with IP67 water and dust resistance. But it's what's inside that really counts. The 6.7-inch Super AMOLED display is designed for those who live on their screens. Whether you're binge-watching shows, scrolling TikTok, or editing snaps, the edge-to-edge screen delivers vivid colour and clarity, all while being easy on the eyes. Speaking of snaps, the A26's camera setup punches above its weight. On the back, you'll find a 50 MP wide-angle lens that captures clear, high-quality shots, and a 13 MP front camera that's selfie-ready at any moment. But the real game-changer is what Samsung calls Awesome Intelligence, a fancy way of saying the built-in editing tools are seriously clever. Thanks to features like Edit Suggestions and the Enhanced Object Eraser, you can quickly remove unwanted photobombers or distractions from your pics. The phone uses AI to analyse your shots and offer helpful tips, which means less time editing and more time posting. And let's talk battery life. The Galaxy A26 5G is powered by a 5,000mAh battery, so it's built to last through a full day of use, whether that's video calls, Netflix, or endless doom scrolling. It's the kind of phone that can keep up with your life, without needing a midday recharge. At under $400, it's rare to find a phone with this much functionality. Between the display, camera, intelligent features and all-day battery, the Galaxy A26 5G is a savvy pick for anyone who wants a reliable phone that does the job (and then some) without blowing the budget.

LED TVs are typically the most budget-friendly TVs you can buy, however, they tend to have lower colour accuracy and lack the true blacks found in OLED TVs, resulting in less contrast. OLED TVs are meanwhile more expensive than LED and QLED TVs – but, if you're after exceptional picture quality, OLED is the way to go. OLED TVs have individual pixels that are self-lit, producing perfect blacks and incredible contrast. QLED sits somewhere in between the two, using traditional LCD panels lit by LEDs with an added quantum dot layer. They produce a wider range of colours and offer better overall brightness compared to OLED. However, they also have less accurate black tones. Essentially, if you're looking for the best picture quality available, OLED TVs are your best option. If you want a brighter display that's more budget friendly, QLED could be a better choice. If you're looking for value and a wide range of screen sizes, LED models are meanwhile worth a look in. DO YOU REALLY NEED TO USE A SOUNDBAR WITH YOUR TV? While it is not a necessity to use a soundbar when watching your TV, there are many benefits to using one in your living room or home cinema. Improving sound quality: The biggest benefit to adding a soundbar to your TV set-up is how well all your favourite shows, movies and video games will sound. TVs generally lack bass, so this additional will amp up the volume and improve the clarity of voices and dialogue. Similar to surround sound: Instead of filling your space with speaker, you can pretty much hear it all form every angle as the sound from soundbars (specifically those with DTS: X or Dolby Atmos) mimics a surround sound experience. Subwoofer connectivity: Not only are they easy to connect to your TV set, but they can also pair with subwoofers to add some extra oomph. Many also come with a subwoofer included to set-up straight away. Easy to use smart features: These high tech devices typically come with Wi-Fi access and connection to voice assistants like Siri, Alexa and Google Assistant as part of your smart home.
