Zach Gowen Reveals Who Pitched Bringing Him In For AEW Match
Zach Gowen will have his first match with All Elite Wrestling later tonight against Ricochet on the Dynamite: Beach Break special.
Former WWE Superstar Zach Gowen recently sat down with Zack Heydorn of Sports Illustrated. When asked how he got connected with AEW, Gowen gave that credit to agent and producer Kevin Matthews.

'I saw that a gentleman by the name of Kevin Matthews, who's a producer and agent for AEW. An old friend of mine and a lifelong supporter of mine as well,' Zach Gowen said. 'He's done good by me throughout the years. I saw that he was in town in Detroit, my hometown, for AEW, so I hit him up and I said, Hey, man, do you want to go to lunch?
'He just started pitching these ideas, which fired up my imagination, and it got me thinking. It got me hyped up, and so really, it's from that relationship that I have with Kevin and a lot of those guys that work backstage, and that was able to bring it to fruition.'
Stepping in the ring with Ricochet
When asked about his match with Ricochet later this evening, Gowen said he's looking forward to it, calling Ricochet the best wrestler in the world.

'I'm absolutely looking forward to getting in the ring with him, because Ricochet is the best wrestler in the world,' Zach Gowen said. 'I've said that for a long, long time. I saw him put on an absolute clinic — must have been 2016 or 2015 somewhere in New York. He wrestled the Amazing Red and was one of the best matches I've ever seen live.'
WrestleZone will have live coverage of AEW Dynamite: Beach Break later this evening.

How to watch WWE Money in the Bank 2025: Live stream and match card for tonight
Plenty is at stake as WWE Money in the Bank takes place tonight. As has been the case ever since the concept was introduced back in 2005, the main focus this year is without a doubt the two Money in the Bank ladder matches. This is where the ring is filled with multiple ladders for six superstars to use to ultimately climb and retrieve the briefcase hanging high above. The winner is declared once one superstar unhooks the aforementioned briefcase. Inside the briefcase is a contract that gives the winner the power to challenge for any championship at any time they choose, within a 12 month period - which means every single champion on the roster is vulnerable. The likes of Seth Rollins, Solo Sikoa and LA Knight will do battle in the men's match whilst Alexa Bliss, Naomi and Rhea Ripley have qualified for what what promises to be an epic women's Money in the Bank ladder match. Elsewhere on the card, Lyra Valkyria will defend the Women's Intercontinental championship against Becky Lynch in a heated rematch and Cody Rhodes partners up with Jey Uso in an intriguing tag team showdown against John Cena and Logan Paul. Live stream: In the UK, WWE Money in the Bank 2025 can be watched and streamed live on Netflix. Coverage starts at 11.30pm BST on Saturday, June 7, 2025. A membership costs £4.99 a month and the subscription can be cancelled at any time.

Throughout the wrestling industry, injuries have derailed several plans and have halted careers. AEW fans continue to wait for Eddie Kingston to make his return after he suffered a torn ACL and meniscus, as well as a tibial fracture. Future WWE Hall of Famer Asuka has been out of action for a year due to a knee injury, and she reportedly isn't ready to return. Advertisement There is another name who isn't expected to be back in the fold in the near future. Fightful's Sean Ross Sapp reports that Zoey Stark will likely miss "WrestleMania" season in 2026 due to her serious knee injury. Stark suffered the injury during an MITB qualifier on the May 19 episode of "Monday Night Raw." Zoey Stark delivers a clothesline to Ivy Nile during a "WWE Raw" match.(via WWE) Stark shared the ring with Rhea Ripley and Kairi Sane in a triple threat. Stark attempted a springboard missile dropkick on Sane, but she landed awkwardly. The former Pure Fusion Collective member immediately grabbed her knee and yelled out in pain. Stark had to be carried to the backstage area and couldn't complete the match. It's the same knee that Stark injured back in 2021. She tore her ACL and meniscus during a triple threat tag team ladder match on the "Halloween Havoc" edition of "NXT." Stark was back in the ring in less than a full year. Advertisement Stark's in-ring abilities didn't suffer after recovering from her first knee surgery. Many are wondering if the "WWE Raw" superstar can have the same recovery success this go-around.
