
BEML signs MoU with deep-tech startup at II-M to build indigenous Hyperloop system in India
Hyperloop is a high-speed transportation system where passenger or cargo pods travel through sealed tubes in a near-vacuum environment, allowing them to glide at exceptional speeds using Magnetic Levitation and Linear Induction Motor propulsion systems, according to Bharat Earth Movers Limited (BEML).
As per the MoU, BEML will serve as the principal manufacturing partner for TuTr Hyperloop.The collaboration will focus on developing a prototype Hyperloop pod designed to carry both passengers and cargo at ultra-high speeds, leveraging advanced propulsion technologies such as Linear Induction Motors (LIM) and Maglev systems. The goal is to create a radically faster, greener, and more efficient mode of transport, stated a press release issued by BEML."This partnership is a leap forward for India's aspirations in high-speed, clean transportation," said Shantanu Roy, Chairman and Managing Director, BEML.
"It exemplifies our commitment to Viksit Bharat 2047 and Atmanirbhar Bharat by turning futuristic mobility into a reality powered by Indian engineering, innovation, and manufacturing," he added.The MoU was formally signed by Lingaraj V Viraktamath, Head Corporate Technology Planning & Alliance Management and Aravind S Bharadwaj, Director & CEO of TuTr Hyperloop, in the presence of Roy, BEML, and Prof V Kamakoti, Director, IIT Madras. Rajeev Kumar Gupta, Director, Rail & Metro, BEML Ltd was also present.
"At TuTr, we're translating deep scientific research into practical technologies that can transform the way people and goods move," said Prof Kamakoti.

Currently, IIT Madras is offering two such BS programmes: (1) BS in Data Science and Applications and (2) BS in Electronic Systems.

NIACL AO Scorecard 2025: The New India Assurance Company Limited (NIACL) has released the NIACL AO Scorecard 2025 for the recruitment of Administrative Officer (Scale-I) posts. Candidates who appeared in any stage of the selection process can now check their individual scores by visiting the official website — To access the scorecard, candidates need to log in using their roll number and date of birth. The scorecard provides detailed section-wise marks as well as the total marks secured across all three stages — Preliminary Exam, Main Exam, and Interview. The recruitment process was conducted in two phases, with the prelims held on January 30 and the mains exam on March 2. A total of 170 vacancies were announced for both Generalist and Specialist roles. The scorecards have been released for all candidates, regardless of whether they qualified in the recruitment process or not. Candidates appointed to the officers' cadre on the company's regular payroll will be placed under a one-year probation period starting from their date of joining. If necessary, this probation period can be extended twice, with each extension lasting up to six months, allowing for a maximum extension of one additional year. The official notice states that, "The Company reserves the right to terminate the services of the candidate if found unsuitable at any time during the probation period or the extended probation period without any notice or assigning any reason thereof." IIT Madras sets up school to boost startup culture, global innovation goals
The Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IIT Madras) has taken a new step in its startup journey with the launch of its School of Innovation and Entrepreneurship. The aim is to build a strong system to support deep-tech startups and put the institute among the world's top entrepreneurial school was formally launched on August 4, 2025, on campus by Professor V Kamakoti, Director of IIT Madras, along with faculty, startup founders, students, alumni, and industry partners. It will be led by Prof. Prabhu Rajagopal, a faculty member known for encouraging innovation and entrepreneurship at IIT SCHOOL TO GUIDE STUDENT STARTUPS AND DEEP-TECH VENTURESThe institute already supports over 475 startups through its Incubation Cell and other centres, with a combined value of more than Rs 50,000 crore. These startups have created over 11,000 jobs, filed 700+ patents, and attracted investment of around Rs 12,000 the new school, IIT Madras wants to bring structure to its efforts. The goal is to support aspiring entrepreneurs with regular academic programs, mentorship, and school will offer a Minor in Entrepreneurship, an MS (Entrepreneurship), and a PhD focused on innovation.
