Isla Fisher embracing her 'new identity' after divorce

Perth Now3 days ago
Isla Fisher went thought a 'tough couple of years' but she's now embracing her 'new identity as somebody outside of a partnership'.
The 49-year-old Australian actress is single again following the breakdown of her marriage to Sacha Baron Cohen and she's admitted her life has totally changed and she's trying to adapt by staying as 'as buoyant as possible'.
She told Harper's Bazaar magazine: 'I've had a tough couple of years, but I'm making it through. I'm really excited for the next chapter.
'I'm refocusing on my career, because previously I was very much focused on my kids, which I still am, obviously, because they're my true love. But I'm enjoying tackling work again.'
She added: 'That's been one of the benefits of a challenging situation: the luxury of asking myself, What would I like to do professionally and privately? ...
'I'm trying to remind myself of my new identity as somebody outside of a partnership and to stay as buoyant as possible. Any time there's change, it's hard to adapt. But hopefully I'm doing an okay job.'
The former couple - who have three children together - announced their split in April and in May revealed their divorce had been finalised, allowing them both to move forward.
In a joint statement posted on Instagram, the former Hollywood couple explained: 'Our divorce has now been finalised. We are proud of all we've achieved together and, continuing our great respect for each other, we remain friends and committed to co-parenting our wonderful children.
'We ask for the media to continue to respect our children's privacy.'
Fisher previously called her divorce the 'most difficult thing' she's been through, but insisted at the time that she and the Borat star remained focused on their children. She told The Sunday Times newspaper: 'I've learned so much about myself in the process. I never imagined my family being separated, but we are committed and loving parents ...
'Kids are the most important thing, and you want them to really feel safe and loved. We are building a new, healthy version of what our family looks like and putting as much care and love into it as possible.'

Margot Robbie in talks to star in Tim Burton's new film

Margot Robbie is in talks to star in Tim Burton's Attack Of The Fifty Foot Woman remake. The 35-year-old Australian actress is being considered for the lead role in the director's upcoming movie for Warner Bros and she would also produce the film through her LuckyChap production company, according to The InSneider. The 1958 movie is a science-fiction horror story which follows a wealthy heiress who grows into a giant after an alien encounter and goes on to take revenge on her cheating husband. It was reported last year that Burton would direct and produce the remake, with Gone Girl author Gillian Flynn writing the script. Andrew Mittman and Tommy Harper are also producing with Kai Dolbashian as executive producer. However, Variety reports that Flynn exited the project due to other commitments after writing a first draft of the screenplay. The production team is searching for a new writer. Robbie's involvement would depend on the final version of the script. Margot Robbie is in talks to star in Tim Burton's Attack Of The Fifty Foot Woman remake. Cara Delevingne tested new Topshop collection at Glastonbury

Cara Delevingne tested Topshop's new collection by wearing the clothes at Glastonbury Festival this summer. The model is an ambassador for the revived brand - which relaunches at the end of August - as well as being the face of the new autumn/winter campaign and Cara has revealed she took the new Topshop pieces to the iconic music festival in June to see how they worked and she was thrilled to tell fellow festival-goers she was wearing items from the former high street giant. She told The Sunday Times newspaper: "I wore the pinstripe trousers with the faux-fur jacket and was so excited to tell people that they were part of the 'new' Topshop collection. "You can dress these pieces up or down and wear them for everything from a meeting to going out to lunch to hanging out at home." Cara went on to insist the new Topshop collection features pieces she would feel proud to have in her wardrobe, saying: "It's all the things that I want in my wardrobe. "Going from my twenties into my thirties, I wanted to kind of start dressing with a bit more thought. This collection lets me do that. "You wear it with more Topshop or with vintage or other brands. Each piece stands out so much - there really is something for everyone." She added: "Each piece is purposeful. What matters now is quality over quantity." In a separate interview with ELLE magazine, Cara revealed she was keen to be a part of the brand's relaunch after previously walking the runway in Topshop's fashion shows and starring in a campaign for the company back in 2014. She said: "To be asked to be part of the relaunch, it meant so much to me - and my teenage self, who remembers going into Topshop and really feeling like you could find anything you wanted." Cara added of the first collection: "It feels very eclectic, but also modern." The 30-piece collection debuts on the relaunched Topshop website on August 16. Topshop Managing Director Michelle Wilson said in a statement: "Cara is the perfect embodiment of the Topshop spirit - bold, creative, and unapologetically herself. This partnership is more than a campaign; it's a statement of intent as we reintroduce Topshop to the world."
