In her latest episode, Farah opened up about Sheila Ki Jawani, calling it one of the biggest hits of her career. She also revealed that the song was, surprisingly, the 'cheapest" she has ever choreographed.
Farah shared, 'My cheapest song is Sheila Ki Jawani. If you watch the song, there was no set, just ten dancers and we wrapped up the shoot in three and a half hours. It's the cheapest song I've ever done — and also one of the biggest hits of my career, among my top three or four songs."
With upbeat music composed by the Vishal-Shekhar duo and Sunidhi Chauhan's powerful vocals, the song gained instant popularity. And Katrina Kaif's bold screen presence, paired with Farah's sharp choreography, made Sheila Ki Jawani an unforgettable dance number from Tees Maar Khan. Directed by Farah Khan, the comedy film starred Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif in the lead roles. Farah even won the Filmfare Award for Best Choreography for the song.
Earlier, in an interview with Zee News, Katrina Kaif had also opened up about her experience with Sheila Ki Jawani. She said, 'It was one of the raunchiest songs I have ever shot." She added, 'It was a learning experience for me. I don't take the song being called an item number as an offence. There is exposure in the song, but it's more about attitude and I was specific about that."
Speaking about her character in the film, Katrina said, 'In the movie, Akshay plays the role of a conman and I play his love interest, a wannabe actress called Anya. She signs a B-grade film in which she is called Sheila."
