Samsung could make your Galaxy photos brighter soon… but the hidden catch could annoy you
Samsung's Galaxy phones' cameras already let you slap a watermark on your photos – thanks to One UI 5.0, you can add the device name and timestamp at the bottom of your shots. But now it looks like the South Korean tech giant is ready to get a bit more creative. With One UI 8, the company is reportedly adding two new watermark styles. And they even tweak the image itself, making photos brighter and more vibrant with a new Vivid tuning. BREAKING!For Samsung users, here's a major discovery! Yesterday, I mentioned that the next version of One UI 8 would introduce two "Chinese-style" photo watermarks. But it turns out there's more to it—Samsung has tied its new "Vivid" style to the watermark. Look, all my… — PhoneArt (@UniverseIce) August 18, 2025 Unlike the old watermark that just tells you the device and time, the new one adds a white frame and shows camera info like shutter speed, ISO, and aperture. Plus, there are separate styles for portrait and landscape shots. There are separate styles for portraits and landscapes. | Image credit – Ice Universe These new styles are clearly inspired by what some Chinese brands like Oppo, Vivo, Huawei and Xiaomi have been doing. Their phones, however, often use watermarks to flex partnerships with Leica, Zeiss or Hasselblad, too. That said, unlike Vivo or Xiaomi, for example, the artistic watermark on Samsung phones will apparently only work with the Vivid filter – you won't be able to use it in normal camera mode. Honestly, I hope Samsung eventually separates the two, because I think way more people would care about controlling the color profile than just adding a fancy stamp. These new watermark styles are expected to debut on the Galaxy S25 series and the Galaxy Z Fold 7. No word yet on when (or if) they'll make it to other devices, though One UI 8 .5 next year could expand the rollout. Bottom line: Samsung is making it a bit more fun to show off your shots while also giving you a little boost in brightness and vibrancy – just don't expect to use the artistic watermark everywhere… at least for now. Samsung Galaxy Tab S10 Lite to come in a surprising color
Vlad, 18 August 2025 Samsung is expected to release the Galaxy Tab S11, Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra, and Galaxy Tab S10 Lite later this year, and all three of these have been in the rumors a lot lately. Today a new rumor from a tipster over on X reveals one of their color choices, and it's definitely not a hue we see very often (if ever) on tablets: pink. Or at least, pinkish. Take a look: This is claimed to be the Galaxy Tab S10 Lite, which is interesting since it means it will have a special slot for the S Pen on its back, just like the non-Lite models (but not the S10 FE and S10 FE+). There are unfortunately no other details at the moment, but given how many certifications the Tab S10 Lite has already received, it's clearly due to be announced in the coming weeks. The tablet is powered by the Exynos 1380 SoC, paired with 6GB of RAM, and may run Android 15 with One UI 7 on top when it lands, unfortunately - hopefully an update to Android 16 with One UI 8 will be coming soon after. The device has also been rumored to pack an 8,000 mAh battery with support for either 25W or 45W wired charging, a 10.9-inch LCD screen with 2112x1320 resolution, an 8 MP rear camera, a 5 MP front-facing camera, dual speakers, and two RAM/storage versions: 6/128GB and 8/256GB. Beyond the display, the Samsung tablet offers decent performance that corresponds to its asking price. It packs an Exynos 1280 SoC, providing more than enough horsepower for daily tasks. What's more, it supports the Samsung DeX productivity feature. This allows you to enjoy a PC-like experience with a taskbar and resizable windows.
