Watch: Kuwait, UAE forces seize 110kg of drugs hidden in container door, roof panels
The massive amount of narcotics was being smuggled into the country by sea.
The seizure took place after intelligence obtained through joint cooperation indicated the arrival of a container carrying narcotic substances as part of the operations of an international organised network. A tightly coordinated security plan was developed to track the container and apprehend the suspects.
The container was taken apart by the authorities and a large amount of drugs was uncovered from the door and roof panels. Watch how it happened, below:
Sheikh Fahad Yousef Saud Al-Sabah expressed his sincere appreciation to the Ministry of Interior of the United Arab Emirates, led by Lieutenant-General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, for the fruitful cooperation and the intelligence information that contributed to the success of this operation.
Authorities permitted the shipment to exit Shuwaikh Port and was followed on the ground until the recipient was caught in the act in the Umm Ghara area.
The individual, an Afghan national, was arrested.

Dubai Customs seizes over 6 million fake cigarettes in 35-tonne bust
Dubai Customs has seized over 35 tonnes of counterfeit, smuggled, and non-compliant goods over the course of three months since the start of 2025. In a tweet on Tuesday, Dubai Customs said that this was the "largest operation of its kind since the start of 2025" and took place across the air cargo centres of the city. The authority, in the campaign, recorded more than 12 million smuggled cigarettes, 6.7 million counterfeit cigarettes, 37,110 cosmetics that do not conform to terms and conditions, 3,632 undeclared electronic parts and 10,520 counterfeit items of international brands. In 2024, Dubai Customs recorded 54 seizures involving 10.8 million counterfeit items, as part of its efforts to protect intellectual property rights. This campaign is part of the authority's continuous efforts to safeguard the nation's borders, combat all forms of smuggling and commercial fraud, and protect the health, safety, and economic interests of the community.

By granting judicial officer status to authorised personnel, the app strengthens enforcement of existing regulations and reinforces Dubai's commitment to maintaining its position as the cleanest city in the world. A key milestone in Dubai Municipality's digital transformation efforts, the launch of 'Eltizam' reflects the city's broader vision of fostering shared responsibility between officials and the community to protect urban aesthetics, public health, and environmental sustainability. Through the app, authorised users can take photos of violations, automatically capture their location, add contextual notes, and record breaches of cleanliness regulations in real time. Targeting eight key violations The first phase of 'Eltizam' focuses on eight public cleanliness violations, categorised as negative behaviours that distort the city's image. These include: Spitting in public areas Disposing of chewing gum improperly Littering in public spaces Dumping organic or general waste into the sea, beaches, creeks, or ports Draining vehicle wash water in non-designated areas Lighting fires or barbecuing in unauthorised places Posting flyers, advertisements, or printed materials that deface public areas Failing to remove animal waste from public spaces By digitising the enforcement process and equipping judicial officers with smart tools, 'Eltizam' represents a shift towards proactive monitoring and greater transparency in maintaining the city's visual and environmental standards. To be eligible, drivers must visit the official MOI website and submit a pledge form before the day. If no violations are recorded, the black point deduction will be processed automatically by September 15, with no need to visit service centres. This streamlined, fully digital reward system reinforces the ministry's commitment to both safety and convenience. AI surveillance and penalties in Dubai Meanwhile, earlier this year, Dubai Police provided a comprehensive update on traffic violations captured by AI-enabled smart radars and technical surveillance systems. The announcement was made in March 2025 by the General Department of Traffic, highlighting the rising role of AI in enforcing road laws, The violations carry heavy penalties, both financial and in black points, for reckless or careless driving.
