Why Tom Sandoval's America's Got Talent debut is sparking backlash, and praise

Tom Sandoval, best known from Bravo's Vanderpump Rules and appearing in Season 3 of The Traitors, is now making headlines for an entirely different reason, his unexpected musical debut on America's Got Talent. The 41-year-old reality TV personality took the stage in June 2025 with his band, Tom Sandoval & The Most Extras, performing a theatrical cover of A-ha's Take on Me. The performance was both bold and symbolic, an effort to move past the infidelity scandal that turned him into a tabloid villain. In 2023, Sandoval's nine-year relationship with Ariana Madix ended after she discovered he was involved with her friend and co-star Rachel Leviss. Dubbed 'Scandoval,' the affair became reality TV's biggest controversy of the year. The fallout included public outrage, widespread memes, and even fans labeling him 'the most hated man in America.' Now, two years later, Sandoval is trying to rewrite the narrative. His America's Got Talent appearance sparked mixed reactions. While some were skeptical with even Howie Mandel whispering the details of his affair to co-judge Sofía Vergara, others were impressed. Simon Cowell, known for his critical eye, offered a rare smile during the performance, though he dismissed the scandal altogether. Online, reactions ranged from surprise to sarcasm. TikTok comments included lines like, 'He actually sounds great… surprisingly,' and, 'Say what you want, this wasn't bad.' Others asked bluntly, 'Who even is this guy?' with one viral comment joking, 'A worm with a mustache.' Though doubts remained, Sandoval took the stage hoping to move forward from his past. Whether audiences grant him that is still up in the air.

SaveAFox founder Mikayla Raines' husband keeps her promise after tragic death

Ethan Frankamp, husband of the late Mikayla Raines, founder of the widely-followed SaveAFox Rescue, has shared a touching moment as he honours her memory in the way she would've wanted most. In a recent Instagram Story shared through the SaveAFox account, Frankamp posted a video of himself walking one of Raines' most beloved rescues, a fox named Finnegan. In the video, Frankamp reflects on how no matter the weather or workload, Mikayla never skipped Finnegan's walk. 'Even after a long, exhausting day, she made sure he got his time outside,' he says softly in the background. 'I didn't really feel up to it today, but I knew I couldn't let him down. I hope she's watching and that she's proud.' Raines, who built a massive online following for her work rehabilitating foxes through her Minnesota-based nonprofit, passed away recently. Frankamp confirmed her death in an emotional YouTube video on June 23, explaining that his wife had died by suicide. He revealed that Mikayla had long struggled with online harassment, which intensified in recent months. According to Frankamp, she was deeply affected by targeted negativity and personal attacks from people within and outside the animal rescue community. 'She took it to heart,' he said, explaining that the criticism, combined with her mental health challenges, including autism, depression, and borderline personality disorder became too much for her to bear. 'She felt like the world had turned against her,' he shared. The couple share a young daughter, Freya. Though devastated, Frankamp is doing what he can to carry on Mikayla's legacy and honour her after her passing.

Love Island USA: Episode 20 ends on cliffhanger after dramatic exit scene leaves villa in tears

Love Island USA's latest episode left fans stunned as two original Islanders, Nic and Olandria, were eliminated—only for an unexpected twist to close the night. During the Casa Amor recoupling, the bombshells made their selections. Zak chose to couple up with Amaya, leaving Olandria without a partner. No other bombshells chose her, meaning she was officially dumped from the villa. In the original villa, the Casa Amor girls followed suit. Vanna selected TJ, which made Ace vulnerable. Clarke then chose to couple up with Ace, leaving Nic single. As per the rules, he was also asked to leave. But as Nic walked out, a car pulled up beside him. To his surprise, Olandria opened the door and told him to get in. The episode cut to black, leaving fans without answers and raising speculation about a possible twist in store. Online reactions quickly followed. 'This season has officially lost its potential,' one fan wrote. Others questioned the direction of the plot, while some defended the move, saying Nic and Olandria deserved more time. The surprising sequence has viewers debating whether the pair will return to the show as a couple or be sent to a separate villa. New episodes of Love Island USA season 7 air daily, except Wednesdays, at 9 pm ET on Peacock.
