Why Tom Sandoval's America's Got Talent debut is sparking backlash, and praise
In 2023, Sandoval's nine-year relationship with Ariana Madix ended after she discovered he was involved with her friend and co-star Rachel Leviss. Dubbed 'Scandoval,' the affair became reality TV's biggest controversy of the year. The fallout included public outrage, widespread memes, and even fans labeling him 'the most hated man in America.'
Now, two years later, Sandoval is trying to rewrite the narrative. His America's Got Talent appearance sparked mixed reactions. While some were skeptical with even Howie Mandel whispering the details of his affair to co-judge Sofía Vergara, others were impressed. Simon Cowell, known for his critical eye, offered a rare smile during the performance, though he dismissed the scandal altogether.
Online, reactions ranged from surprise to sarcasm. TikTok comments included lines like, 'He actually sounds great… surprisingly,' and, 'Say what you want, this wasn't bad.' Others asked bluntly, 'Who even is this guy?' with one viral comment joking, 'A worm with a mustache.'
Though doubts remained, Sandoval took the stage hoping to move forward from his past. Whether audiences grant him that is still up in the air.

Cardi B faces backlash over livestream fat shaming remarks and defends comments as joke to fans
Cardi B is facing criticism after making comments during a recent livestream that many fans and body positivity advocates have called fat-shaming. While eating Chick-fil-A and discussing the quick sell-out of clothing box sets she was promoting, the rapper joked about the size demand. 'The box sets are completely sold out — especially because you fat fs… clearly you guys are fat as f… the 3XL sold out in 20 minutes,' she said in the clip. She went on to address potential criticism, saying, 'Now I know my fans is fat… Don't call me fatphobic y'all, 'cause everyone made fun of my BBL [Brazilian butt lift]. I can body-shame people 'cause y'all body-shame me. This is a body-shaming space. You talk about my body, I'll talk about yours.' The remarks sparked immediate backlash online. One Reddit user described them as 'extremely disappointing and upsetting,' saying such language 'normalizes and emboldens strangers to harass me online.' Another said hearing the artist speak about fans that way was 'disheartening,' while others warned that alienating supporters could harm her career. In a follow-up posted to TikTok, Cardi B defended the comments, framing them as humor. 'It was an innocent joke between me and my fans… it's not that serious,' she said. 'I make fun of everybody… As long as you don't stink, I don't give a damn. I'm not going to apologize because y'all are sensitive and wanna cry about some dumb sh*t.' The rapper has stood by her stance, making it clear she does not intend to issue an apology.

Cardi B refuses to apologise for ‘fat as f***' fan joke
Cardi B is not backing down after sparking backlash for calling members of her own fanbase 'fat as f***' during a livestream. The 'WAP' rapper, whose loyal supporters proudly identify as the #BardiGang, was chatting with followers about merchandise for her upcoming album Am I the Drama when she noted that the 3XL T-shirts had sold out faster than smaller sizes. Laughing, she quipped, 'You fat fs. You guys are fat as f, no Chick-fil-A for y'all.' The comment immediately set off a wave of criticism online, with some fans accusing the Grammy winner of being 'fatphobic' and insensitive toward her plus-sized supporters. But Cardi, born Belcalis Almánzar, says the joke has been taken far too seriously. Addressing the controversy in a TikTok posted on August 8, she explained, 'It was an innocent joke between me and my fans…it's not that serious. Especially when it comes to me, I make fun of everybody. I don't care if you fat, skinny, BBL down, got big feet, got small feet, whatever. As long as you don't stink, I don't give a damn.' She went on to note that she is regularly mocked herself, particularly for her Brazilian butt lift, joking that people are 'BBL-phobic' towards her. Still, she made it clear that anyone waiting for an apology will be waiting forever. 'I'm not going to apologise because y'all are sensitive and wanna cry about some dumb sht,' she declared. 'Every day y'all wanna cry about some dumb sht.' The incident adds to Cardi's long history of unapologetic public moments. While some fans defended her comments as part of her trademark humour, others say she crossed a line by making her own supporters the punchline. Regardless, Cardi appears unfazed, choosing to double down rather than soften her words.

‘Special Forces: World's Toughest Test' season 4 celebrity cast revealed
Fox's intense reality series Special Forces: World's Toughest Test returns this fall with a new group of celebrities ready to take on military-style challenges in its fourth season. The show, which mimics the grueling physical and mental training of the real-life Special Forces selection process, will premiere Thursday, Sept. 25 at 9 p.m. ET/PT on Fox. The 18-person cast includes some headline-making names, most notably actor Jussie Smollett. Known for his role on Empire, Smollett has kept a low profile since a 2019 incident in which he alleged he was the victim of a hate crime—an allegation authorities later disputed. After a lengthy legal battle, he recently settled with the city of Chicago. Joining Smollett is Real Housewives of New Jersey star Teresa Giudice, along with her daughter, Gia Giudice, who also appears on the Bravo series and is an influencer and podcaster. America's Next Top Model winner and Real Housewives of Atlanta alum Eva Marcille will also compete. Other cast members include Sister Wives patriarch Kody Brown; Vanderpump Rules personality Brittany Cartwright; NFL veterans Randall Cobb, Eric Decker, and Andrew East; and gymnast and Dancing With the Stars winner Shawn Johnson East. Also appearing are model Chanel Iman, TikTok creator Mark Estes, Barstool Sports podcaster Brianna 'Chickenfry' LaPaglia, and former NFL quarterback Johnny Manziel. The lineup rounds out with actor Ravi V. Patel, Olympic soccer player Christie Pearce Rampone, and former NBA player Nick Young. Previous seasons have been physically punishing and emotionally raw—season 3 included Denise Richards sustaining a serious injury during a stunt. Season 4 promises the same level of intensity, as revealed in exclusive promotional images showing cast members bloodied and exhausted mid-challenge.
