Couple agreed to a casual hook up — but never imagined this would happen after: ‘I had to tell someone'
One man's steamy friends-with-benefits fling just got immortalized in verse — and now the internet's swooning.
Tobias, known as @tobiasly on X, set social media ablaze this week after revealing a sizzling romantic entanglement that inspired a published poem.
In response to a prompt from dating app Schmooze asking users to 'share a piece of lore about your dating life,' Tobias dropped a now-viral thread that's racked up over 2.8 million views and left readers hot under the collar — and emotionally unprepared.
'I matched with someone on Bumble a few years back,' he wrote.
'We went on a couple dates & realized we weren't relationship material but the physical chemistry was really good, so we decided to be fwb [friends with benefits] as long as we were both single.'
One night, early in their no-strings setup, things took a surprising literary turn.
'She invited me to her place… & she made me a three course vegan meal,' Tobias recalled. 'First was the main course, then lots & lots of sex followed by dessert.'
A delicious memory — and not just because of the food.
Turns out, the woman — an aspiring poet with a social media following and a three-book publishing deal — was also keeping notes.

Some time after they'd gone their separate ways (she had found a boyfriend by then), she messaged Tobias to tell him a certain memorable night had made it into print.
He rushed to buy the book on release day — and there it was: 'I Baked Brownies For Dessert.'
The poem she wrote didn't hold back:
'The recipe said they needed to cool for twenty minutes.
Patience has never been a virtue of mine.
You were sitting on my bed more delicious than the brownies.
…I will not confess to intentionally wearing an outfit that is easily removed
but I will not deny it, either.'
From raunchy to romantic, it was more than a kiss-and-tell — it was kiss-and-publish.
'We help ourselves to each other until I lose count of orgasms.
The puddle beneath us says it was several.
…You ask, 'Did I earn my brownie?'
I laugh as if you didn't earn the whole tray.'
Tobias confessed that sharing the post was nerve-wracking: 'This is the most personal thing I've ever shared online & I'll probably delete but I had to tell someone.'
He later turned off replies after some people critiqued the poem.
'Poetry doesn't have to rhyme or follow a certain structure or meter,' he wrote in defense. 'Sometimes it's just getting your thoughts into the world & this was one small piece of her work of self-discovery.'
As for commenters accusing him of fumbling the relationship?
'Quite a few ppl saying 'how could you not make it work?' or 'you really fumbled,' completely missing the part where we weren't compatible,' he clarified.
He didn't waste a minute buying the book the day it came out — and sure enough, there it was: 'I Baked Brownies For Dessert.' The poem pulls no punches.

'Physical attraction/chemistry is not enough for a healthy relationship.'
Still, one thing's for sure: Tobias may not have earned the relationship, but he definitely earned the whole damn tray.
As previously reported by The Post, stories like Tobias's underscore a broader cultural reckoning with modern hookup culture — one that's increasingly leaving women feeling disillusioned and young men unsure of the rules.
In 'A New Guide to Sex in the 21st Century,' author Louise Perry attempts to intervene in what she calls a 'hellscape' of dating apps, casual sex, and performative intimacy.
As hookup stories continue to dominate online conversations, Perry's message is clear: both parties in a relationship deserve more than performative pleasure and poetic goodbyes — they deserve honesty, boundaries, and respect.

Then She Told Him 'There's No Hidden Meaning' to the Lines and Just Say Them Zendaya Joins 'Shrek 5' Voice Cast as Shrek's Daughter As part of the new 'Be Every You' campaign, unveiled Thursday, the Emmy-winning actor has co-designed her first sneaker: a fashion-forward iteration of On's Cloudtilt silhouette dubbed the Cloudtilt Moon. The shoe is part of a capsule developed alongside her longtime stylist and creative director Law Roach, marking the duo's most tangible fashion output since Roach's semi-retirement announcement last year. SHOP THE ZENDAYA EDIT 'Movement has always been a part of how I connect with myself, and movement looks different for everyone,' Zendaya said in a statement. 'This story felt personal – a reminder that we are all multifaceted beings, with so many brilliant pieces that ultimately make up who we are, make us whole. To me it's about embracing every little bit of ourselves, and being present in every version of yourself.' The campaign, shot by Bardia Zeinali and narrated by Zendaya herself, features surrealist visuals meant to reflect the many selves one person can inhabit. The idea, On says, is about 'motion and multiplicity,' though the message lands closer to the kind of curated ambiguity that's become a staple of Zendaya's high-concept branding. The apparel drop includes fitted bombers, monochromatic track suits and bodysuits. The real substance, though, is in the sneaker. While celebrity collaborations often amount to little more than a colorway and a campaign check, Zendaya's hand in this release appears to be more involved. The Cloudtilt Moon introduces design changes tailored for lifestyle wear: a sculpted heel, updated padding, and a breathable mesh upper for versatile wear. The co-sign from Roach, whose styling has long blurred the line between ready-to-wear and red carpet, is likely no accident. Zendaya's partnership with On began in 2023, shortly after she wore the brand during the 'Challengers' press cycle, and has since evolved into a multi-year contract. Zendaya And Law Roach Reunite For An On Collaboration – Shop Their Cult New Trainer Now
Zendaya has unveiled her first shoe co-designed with stylist and self-proclaimed 'image architect' Law Roach in her ongoing partnership with On. The actor, 28, has been a partner of the Swiss sportswear brand since June 2024, and has now enlisted her trusted and longtime creative partner Roach to collaborate on the Cloudzone Moon, a new take on the original Cloudzone trainer style co-designed by Zendaya last year. With a mesh upper, supportive heel and added forefoot padding to cushion every step, the Cloudzone Moon typifies the brand's high performance, innovative range of footwear that has quickly amassed a cult following since its launch in 2010. While the new style boasts the flexibility and stability of On's fastest running shoes, its soft and stable feel makes it ideal for all-day athleisure wear. It's one to choose if your daily routine is more moderate 10k step count than intensive marathon training. The new shoe takes centre stage in the 'Be Every You' campaign in which Zendaya models On's AW25 apparel range, with each look styled by Roach. 'Movement has always been a part of how I connect with myself, and movement looks different for everyone,' Zendaya shares. 'This story felt personal... we are all multifaceted beings, with so many brilliant pieces that ultimately make up who we are. To me, it's about embracing every little bit of ourselves, and being present in every version of yourself'. The Challengers and Dune star first fronted the 'Dream Together' campaign last summer, and for AW25 she models hero pieces from the 45-item collection including a structured bomber jacket, a sleek beige zip-up bodysuit, and a chic white track jacket with matching shorts standing against a dream-like backdrop of moonlit landscapes. The multiyear deal has proved particularly lucrative to the brand, with its announcement generating $3.5 million in media impact value according to Launchmetrics. Multi-hyphenate Zendaya had previously been seen wearing On trainers on set, travelling and walking her dog in South West London long before she was signed as an ambassador. A second footwear collaboration with Zendaya and Roach – the Cloudtilt Moon – will launch on 2 October. This one is described as 'softer in design and function and built for recovery and all-day ease', with a sock-like knitted upper. Zendaya just designed a stellar new everyday sneaker with On
Actress, singer, and fashion icon Zendaya can add another line item to her résumé: shoe designer. On co-created its new Cloudzone Moon model with Zendaya and her stylist, Law Roach. It's an update to the Swiss athletic apparel brand's existing Cloudzone silhouette, which it released this year, and part of On's fall/winter 2025 collection. It's the latest design to spring from a multiyear partnership with Zendaya that On announced last year. Stylish and minimalist, the Nike-esque Cloudzone model is On's all-day shoe made with 'CloudTec,' the company's trademarked name for its soft midsole design. The style also has forefoot padding and a breathable mesh upper. Think of it as athleisure for your foot. This 'footleisure'-forward sneaker has also had a few iterations since launch: Zendaya wore the shoes in her April campaign for the brand, and On collaborated with NYC-based lifestyle brand Kith for a pair in February. The new 'Moon' iteration has a tan base with red laces and red on the sole; there are also gray and black colorways. Like Zendaya's spring/summer 2025 campaign for On, which featured its own trailer for a fake sci-fi movie, the creative behind the brand's new season is highly produced. Photographer Emily Lipton shot stills of Zendaya wearing the shoes paired with the collection's bodysuit, jacket, and shorts on a set that looks otherworldly. A companion film was directed by Bardia Zeinali, who's directed ads for Calvin Klein and H&M, and music videos like Sabrina Carpenter's 'Please Please Please' and Tate McRae's VMA-nominated 'Sports Car' and 'Just Keep Watching.' On saw nearly 43% year-over-year growth in the most recent quarter with revenue of more than $807 million, according to data from PitchBook. The company says apparel is one of the major reasons why. Net sales of apparel nearly doubled in the first three months of the year, cofounder Caspar Coppetti said on an earnings call in May, and there's more to come. CEO Martin Hoffmann said On has a 'highly performance-driven product pipeline' in the works for the rest of the year. As apparel companies have leaned more and more into athleisure, they have also leaned into marketing their products as a lifestyle choice rather than an athletic one. That means signature sneakers aren't just for basketball players anymore. They're for Zendaya, too.
