Telangana government partners with NGOs to offer NEET, JEE coaching in schools
The government partnered with 6 reputed organisations at the national and international level to offer advanced Ed Tech facilities in government schools.Nandan Nilekani-led EkStep Foundation, Prajwala Foundation run by Dr. Sunita Krishnan, Alak Pandey's Physics Wala, Khan Academy, Shoaib Dar-led Pi Jam Foundation and Safina Hussain's Educate Girls are the prominent organisations which came forward to offer their expertise in providing quality education by leveraging technology to students in government schools.advertisementEnchanted by the welfare and development programmes implemented by the People's Government, these organisations came forward and joined hands with the government.
The decision to seek the help of noted organisations was taken in line with the Chief Minister Revanth Reddy's idea of improving educational standards in the state. The state government strongly believes that partnering with India's renowned organisations will bring a revolutionary change in the education sector in the country.The EkStep Foundation, run by Nandan Nilekani, is already working in 540 schools with an artificial intelligence-based platform. Now, the organisation will offer services in more than 5,000 primary schools in 33 districts. The organisation provides Telugu and English languages as well as Maths basics from class 3 to 5th standard.Physics Wallah will provide coaching to Inter students for NEET, JEE and CLAT exams. It also provides free training to students from the school level for competitive exams.advertisementKhan Academy will offer video-based STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Maths) training in accordance with the curriculum to students from class 6 to 10th standard in the state.Prajwala Foundation, led by Dr. Sunitha Krishnan will launch child safety and protection programmes for students from class 6 to class 12 across the state.Pi Jam Foundation will provide training in coding and computational thinking to students from class 1 to class 10.Educate Girls will take up the enrolment of over 16,000 out-of-school children to improve literacy and educational opportunities for girls.Government Advisor K. Pawar: NCP (SP) will not align with those who joined BJP for power
Pune: NCP (SP) chief Sharad Pawar on Tuesday ruled out any possibility of an alliance with BJP or parties aligned with it, including Ajit Pawar-led NCP, for the upcoming civic elections. Addressing party workers in Pimpri Chinchwad, Pawar said NCP (SP) would align only with those who follow the ideology of Mahatma Gandhi, Jawaharlal Nehru, Shahu Maharaj and Jyotiba Phule. Without mentioning his nephew Ajit Pawar, he said the party would not go with those who joined the BJP-led govt for power. "Somebody mentioned in the speech that we should take everyone along. I agree — if by 'everyone' you mean those who follow the ideology of Gandhi, Nehru, Yashwantrao Chavan and Phule-Shahu. But if you are saying that one should go with BJP for power, then that does not align with the ideology of Congress. You can maintain relations with anyone, but aligning with BJP is not acceptable. We will not promote politics of opportunism and take steps towards that direction," Pawar said. NCP chief Ajit Pawar refused to react to Pawar's statement. "Everyone has the freedom to express his/her opinion," he said. Senior Pawar said many people raised concerns about the future of the party after the split, but young leaders came forward and NCP (SP) remained strong. "Some people have left the party and some new faces are joining. Do not worry about those who have left. In my political career, I witnessed similar developments on multiple occasions," he said, referring to the situation he faced in 1980. Pawar was the chief minister of Maharashtra then. All elected MLAs from his party, except six, had defected, leading to collapse of the government. The NCP (SP) chief said his party would give opportunities to more new faces in the upcoming civic elections. "We will contest all seats. If anyone wants to join us and accept the ideology we follow with an aim to work for the development of Pimpri Chinchwad, the party leadership will take a decision on it," he said. Pawar said the development of Pimpri Chinchwad happened when the parties that follow Nehru and Gandhi's ideology were in power. He said people with the same ideology must come to power in the municipal corporation for further development of the city. He said India's democracy thrived not because of a few leaders like him but because of the unity and resilience of its common people.

Stalin never kept his promises on holding caste census, says Anbumani Ramadoss
PMK president Anbumani Ramadoss on Tuesday said that DMK president and Chief Minister M.K. Stalin has never kept his promises on holding caste census in Tamil Nadu despite meeting PMK representatives, including its founder Ramadoss, thrice on the issue. Addressing party cadre at a district level meeting held here, Mr. Anbumani said that whenever he or party founder senior Ramadoss met the Chief Minister, mostly at the Secretariat in Chennai, Mr. Stalin gave assurance that efforts would be taken on holding the caste census. 'Despite three years after the Supreme Court favoured allowing an internal reservation for Vanniyars based on census, the State government has done nothing on the issue,' he alleged. The former Union Minister reiterated his party demand to provide promised 10.5% internal reservation for Vanniyar community in Tamil Nadu by the DMK-led government, which has claimed of introducing welfare schemes that brings social justice and equality to all. 'Of its total MLAs, DMK has 23 from Vanniyar community and 21 Dalit MLAs. Did the Dravidian party implement any welfare schemes for the upliftment of these communities,' he asked.

Centre's mindset must change: Stalin on Keeladi report
Chennai/Madurai: Chief minister on Tuesday hit out at the BJP-led Union govt saying only the mindset of the people at the Centre should change and not 'reports.' He was referring to the Keeladi report submitted by archaeologist Amarnath Ramakrishna, which was yet to be published by the Union govt. Tired of too many ads? go ad free now Criticising the central govt for asking Amarnath to rework the report, Stalin invited party cadres to participate in large numbers in a protest organised by DMK students wing in Madurai on Wednesday against the BJP govt for not accepting the report. "Despite hurdles faced by the Tamil community for several thousands of years, we have progressed to prove its ancientness through scientific evidence. What needs to change is not the reports but the mindset of people who are not ready to accept them," he said in a social media post. DMK student wing secretary R Rajiv Gandhi told reporters in Madurai that the Union govt was deliberately delaying the publication of the Keeladi report. "The findings from Keeladi prove the existence of a literate, urban Tamil civilization over 2,500 years ago. But the Centre is afraid it will undermine their Indus-Saraswati narrative," he said asking the public to support DMK's protest. Meanwhile, Madurai MP Su Venkatesan accused the Union govt of targeting Amarnath, who led the early phases of the Keeladi excavations, for bringing out unknown facts about rich Tamil heritage. Venkatesan told reporters in Madurai that the transfer of Amarnath to the documentation wing in Noida was the latest in a series of actions aimed at suppressing the significance of Keeladi's findings. "In 2017, he was removed from excavation work and denied permission to write the report. Only after a legal battle was he allowed to submit his report. Two years after submission, the ASI has not released the report yet," he said. Venkatesan said the Centre is sending a message that any official who reveals 'uncomfortable' historical truths would be sidelined. "This is not just an administrative transfer. It is part of a pattern of intimidation," he said.
