Where Is Najeeb? Why Don't You Care?
When a student goes missing; you don't care.
You don't set up a search party, you don't comment, you don't cry about it with your 56-inch wide chest and 5,600-word long speeches, you don't write a tweet, you don't discuss it in your big board rooms with people in power, you let people think that Najeeb Ahmed is a nobody; as if he never existed, as if he should never exist at all in the order of affairs.
You don't call out the students who think like you, who beat students who don't think like you – with sticks and bottles and everything blunt and sharp.
You don't say anything when a library is attacked. When book shelves fall on the heads of the students. When their head bleeds from the attacks on their minds which still await to be nourished and put to good use for the country; they might be preparing for their UPSC exams but now they cannot see clearly and have bruises all over their body and mind.
You don't care when your police hit the students with lathis leaving them paralysed, blind in one eye and prone to asthma and respiratory illnesses.
You don't care when they are dragged into police cars and shoved into buses as they can't breathe to save the trees which they are fighting for, to have a breathable future.
You don't care when they fire burning gas at young bodies, crippling them for weeks until they never walk again and get out of the house to protest, to sit on the doors of justice asking to release their fellow comrades.
You do this because you know you can do this; to weaken them; you do this to break their soul by breaking their bodies, one body at a time – one student at a time; one teacher at a time by raiding their houses, compromising their computers, by destroying their bookshelves and confiscating them as evidence. Evidence of their intellectual rigour, their passion, their love for humanity, their literature and their music. You take it all and use it against them.
You don't care when they shoot writers, journalists and arrest English teachers who die in your jail cells waiting to meet their mothers at their funerals.
We know you don't care and you never will.
But somebody has to care – so that it is not their student or friend who disappears one day. Or they themselves.
Where is Najeeb Ahmed?

Kolkata law college rape: 4 accused taken to crime scene, police say crucial step in probe
The Detective Department (DD) of the Kolkata Police on Friday took the four accused persons to the crime scene and reconstructed the alleged rape incident at a law college in Kolkata, with officers terming this as a 'crucial step in the ongoing investigation'. The reconstruction, which involved the main accused, a security guard and two others, took place in the early hours of Friday morning, lasting nearly five hours. A team of police personnel, accompanied by the accused, reached the college around 3 am, with a significant police presence deployed outside. The reconstruction was videographed and a 3D scan of the crime scene was also conducted. 'The reconstruction is an important part of the investigation,' an officer said. 'What we have got from this reconstruction will be corroborated with the victim's complaint and other information,' he added. According to the 24-year-old woman's complaint, on June 25, a rape attempt was first made in the college's union room, after which she was taken to the security guard's room where she was allegedly sexually assaulted. The investigation into the rape case, initially handled by a 9-member Special Investigation Team, was later handed over to the DD. Authorities have collected seven hours of CCTV footage from the college campus from the day of the incident. Several people, including the college's vice principal, have been questioned and the call detail records of the accused have been examined. Bihar mentioned frequently during PM Modi's visit to Trinidad and Tobago
Bihar, which is due for Assembly elections by November this year, found frequent mentions during Prime Minister Narendra Modi's two-day visit to Trinidad and Tobago, which concluded on Friday with him leaving for Buenos Aires, the third stop of his five-nation tour. The PM is scheduled to spend two days in Argentina, marking the first bilateral visit by a serving Indian PM in 57 years. This visit is crucial for India's search for critical minerals and energy sources. He will reach Rio de Janeiro on Monday to attend the Brics Summit, followed by a visit to Brasilia for a bilateral meeting with Brazil's President Lula da Silva. Addressing an Indian diaspora event in Port of Spain on Friday, Modi said, 'The ancestors of many people present here came from Bihar. The heritage of Bihar is the pride of not only India but the world as well." He also mentioned that the ancestors of his Trinidad & Tobago counterpart, Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar, hailed from Bihar. Modi added that PM Kamla had even visited the state, and people in India consider her the "daughter of Bihar." PM Modi's X post about the cultural connection between the two countries was in English and Bhojpuri, which is widely spoken in Bihar and by the Indian community in the Caribbean nation. 'Very happy to have witnessed a Bhojpuri Chautaal performance in Port of Spain. The connection between Trinidad & Tobago and India, especially parts of eastern UP and Bihar, is noteworthy,' he said after watching a musical performance. In his address at the diaspora event, the PM said, "Be it democracy, politics, diplomacy, higher had shown a new direction to the world in many such subjects centuries ago.' He added that new inspirations and opportunities "will emerge from the land of Bihar for the 21st-century world." Modi's was the first bilateral visit by an Indian PM to Trinidad and Tobago since 1999. Modi announced that India is actively working on creating a comprehensive database of the Girmitiya community. "This will support the deep and historic ties with our brothers and sisters in Trinidad & Tobago as well,' he said. 'Our decision on issuing OCI (Overseas Citizenship of India) cards to the sixth generation of the Indian diaspora in Trinidad & Tobago will strengthen their connection to India and preserve our shared heritage for future generations,' the PM posted on X. The relationship between India and Trinidad & Tobago goes back to 30 May 1845, when the first ship, 'Fatel Razack', carrying 225 Indian indentured workers, reached the shores of Trinidad, then a British colony. Their numbers increased with the arrival of more ships from India until 1917. The descendants of these indentured workers, now in their fifth or sixth generation, form nearly 40–45 per cent of the total population of 1.36 million (2024), constituting an integral part of the economic, political, and social fabric of the country. This year, the diaspora is celebrating 180 years of the arrival of the first group of their ancestors. The PM's visit to Argentina comes at a time when that country is undertaking major economic reforms somewhat similar to those India underwent in the past, said P. Kumaran, Secretary (East) in the Ministry of External Affairs, at a briefing in New Delhi on Monday. Argentina holds the world's second-largest shale gas reserves and the fourth-largest shale oil reserves, along with substantial conventional oil and gas deposits. 'This makes Argentina a potentially important energy partner for India in the future,' Kumaran said. Argentina's rich reserves of critical minerals such as lithium, copper, and other rare earth elements complement India's growing need for secure and sustainable supplies for its clean energy transition and industrial growth, he added.

Fact Check: Did an anti-Taliban group vow to seek revenge for the Pahalgam terrorist attack?

A portion of the English audio says: 'We are the Liberation Front of Afghanistan. And today, we speak not in whispers but in war cries. Pahalgam bleeds in our memory. We remember the laughter of children silenced by foreign hands. ISI's puppets dared to spill innocent blood. They lit a fire they cannot control. You ask why we now walk with a foreign intelligence agency. Because vengeance has no borders.'advertisement In the latter part of the video, the front members allegedly vowed to take revenge for the Pahalgam terror attack.A Facebook user shared this video with the caption: 'The Liberation Front of Afghanistan has officially warned: 'Pahalgam has not yet been avenged. We will not stop until every ISI-sponsored resistance fighter in Pakistan or elsewhere is hunted and eliminated.'' The original dates back to 2022, when an anti-Taliban military front issued a statement highlighting the wrongdoings of the Taliban regime. It has nothing to do with India, and predates the Pahalgam attack by PROBEA quick reverse search of the video's keyframes led us to multiple Persian-language social media posts from 2022. This version of the video did not have English audio or subtitles, unlike the viral Persian-language posts said, 'Another military front against the Taliban, named the 'Afghanistan Liberation Front', announced its existence. In a video recording, this front stated that the women of this land do not enjoy any Islamic or human rights. They speak of standing firm against the Taliban.'Many news outlets had reported on this video at the time as well. According to the Arabic outlet Al Ain News, the Taliban's actions, like arresting journalists and oppressing women, led to the formation of the Afghanistan Liberation Front. It can be seen below. According to these subtitles, the speech mentioned the Taliban and its atrocities. It did not refer to India at all. We shared the subtitles we generated with Mujahid Andarabi, the editor of Radio Afghanistan International. He confirmed that the translation was mostly also said that to his knowledge, neither the Afghanistan Liberation Front nor any other anti-Taliban group had recently issued any statement referring to the Pahalgam terror it's clear that an old video issued by an anti-Taliban front is being shared with fake English audio that links it to the Pahalgam terror attack.- Ends Want to send us something for verification?
