Ongole: Police personnel face significant stress in their daily duties, and yoga serves as a highly effective method to reduce this stress, emphasised SP AR Damodar. He, along with other police officers and staff, participated in the Yoga practice session, as part of the 'Yogandhra 2025' programme, organised by the District Police Office at Police Kalyanamandapam here on Wednesday.
Practicing various yoga postures under the guidance of a yoga instructor, the SP emphasised that yoga is not merely about physical postures but represents a comprehensive system that creates balance between body and mind, enhancing one's ability to face life's challenges and improve concentration. He recommended that yoga should become a daily routine in everyone's life for better health and longevity. He noted that good health can be maintained through a balanced diet and regular yoga practice. He highlighted that yoga has gained paramount importance in current times and is being recognised and practiced worldwide.
SP Damodar urged everyone to make yoga an integral part of their lives and emphasised the collective responsibility to pass this practice on to future generations. He called upon district residents and youth to actively participate in this programme.
Ongole DSP R Srinivasarao, Ongole Taluka CI Vijaya Krishna, Ongole One Town CI Nagaraju, Ongole Two Town CI Srinivasarao, Town SIs, and other staff members participated in the programme.

Vizianagaram Joint Collector Sedhu Madhavan directed officials of all the departments concerned to mobilis around one lakh people from Vizianagaram district and encourage them to participate in mega yoga programme to be held in Bheemunipatnam of Visakhapatnam district on the eve of International Yoga Day to be observed on June 21. According to him, mobilisation of one lakh people would be easy as Bheemunipatnam is very close to several mandals of Vizianagaram district. As the Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to participate in the event, the district is planning to make it as a grand success and bring laurels to the district with its efforts to gather huge number of people for the programme. who visited various tourism spots including Thatipudi reservoir directed the officials to arrange yoga camps in a big way. Chintapalli, Ramateertham, Thatipudi, and other areas were selected for special yoga camps planned between June 6 to June 19. T-shirts, yoga mats have to be given to the participants. Spot registration desks are needed to be established at those selected places since many of them might have not registered their names in Yogandhra portal. Vizianagaram District Rural Development Agency Project Director Kalyana Chakravarthi and other officials assured Mr. Madhavan that the special care would be taken up all yoga programmes planned in different places of the district as well as Bheemunipatnam. Mr. Chakravarthi said that all the participants will be provided bus facility to reach Bheemunipatnam by 5.30 pm on June 21. He said that youngsters were keen to participate in the mega event.

As many as 3000 participants, including Yoga enthusiasts, trainees, youth activists, students and general public took part in the ambitious event conducted by the district machinery at the famed Chandragiri fort here on Wednesday, to create awareness about the forthcoming 'Yogandhra' programme. The event, organised in the backdrop of the imposing edifice that stands testimony to the glory of the Vijayanagara rulers, who ruled this region with Chandragiri as their third capital, is part of the month-long drive to gather momentum ahead of the prestigious 'International Yoga Day' to be observed in a grand manner at Visakhapatnam. Chandragiri MLA Pulivarthi Venkata Mani Prasad (Nani), Andhra Pradesh Yadava Welfare Corporation Chairman G. Narasimha Yadav, Tirupati Urban Development Authority (TUDA) Chairman C. Divakar Reddy, Tirupati district Collector S. Venkateswar and Joint Collector Shubham Bansal participated in the event conducted under the aegis of the Tourism department. Mr. Venkateswar announced that the series of events pertaining to Yoga would be conducted at the mandal and village levels to sustain the tempo. Eight lakh members across Tirupati district have been enrolled by the village and ward secretariat staff to participate in the Yoga Day event at any place. Mr. Nani advised the public to spare a few minutes a day for Yoga and meditation to lead a healthy life and stay away from medicines. Citing statistics, he called mental stress emerging as a leading cause of deaths and appealed for regular practice of Yoga to stay a durable life.

Kadiri: District Collector TS Chetan emphasised the importance of daily yoga practice, stating that it helps prevent physical ailments and promotes mental peace. Speaking at a yoga day celebration organised by Tourism department at Theru Bazaar near Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Temple in Kadiri on Wednesday, he urged everyone to adopt yoga in their daily routine, either at home or in parks. The event began with a ceremonial lamp lighting by key dignitaries, including Collector Chetan, MLA Kandukuri Venkata Prasad, Joint Collector Abhishek Kumar, and others. The Collector highlighted that yoga improves overall well-being and should become a daily habit. He mentioned that the International Yoga Day celebrations on June 21 in Visakhapatnam will see the participation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, with over 5 lakh attendees expected. He also noted that Yogandhra campaign began on May 21 in Puttaparthi, where around 2,000 people participated in a massive yoga session. MLA Venkata Prasad added that yoga, which integrates mind, breath, and exercise, is essential for a healthy life. He stressed that regular yoga can significantly reduce the number of people falling ill, thereby lessening the burden on hospitals. Former MLA MS Parthasarathi, Municipal Chairman Dilshad Unnisa Bahuddin, RDO Sharma, Tourism Officer Narasayya and others participated in the programme.
