ANPR cameras installed at eight locations in two blocks of Perambalur district
The police have installed Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) cameras at eight locations in Alathur and Veppanthattai blocks in Perambalur district. The high-resolution cameras are linked to the central monitoring room established at the District Police Office in Perambalur. Perambalur District Collector Grace Pachuau inaugurated the monitoring room. Superintendent of Police Adarsh Pachera was present. The monitoring room will function round-the-clock and the police personnel at the facilitiy can see live video feeds of the road. A total of 16 ANPR cameras have been installed under the Focus Block Development Programme 2024-2025 at a cost of ₹40 lakh at Chettikulam, Padalur, Allinagaram and Mangoon in Alathur block and Kaikalathur, Arumbavur, Veppanthattai and Devaiyur panchayat (Ranjankudi) in Veppanthattai block. The cameras are linked to the central monitoring room and would have backup for more than 30 days. The ANPR cameras help the police track vehicles that are used in committing crimes besides in identifying those involved in road accidents. The cameras will zero-in on the registration number of vehicles passing through the road. In case of any information of crime being committed, an alert would be sounded to the field-level police personnel and to the highway patrol teams. The Perambalur district police have five Highway Patrol teams deployed to cover important stretches such as Thirumandurai - Perambalur Four Road; Perambalur Four Road - Padaluir; Perambalur - Udumbiyam and Perambalur T. Kalathur, the sources added.

Yoga reduces stress in our life: SP
Ongole: Police personnel face significant stress in their daily duties, and yoga serves as a highly effective method to reduce this stress, emphasised SP AR Damodar. He, along with other police officers and staff, participated in the Yoga practice session, as part of the 'Yogandhra 2025' programme, organised by the District Police Office at Police Kalyanamandapam here on Wednesday. Practicing various yoga postures under the guidance of a yoga instructor, the SP emphasised that yoga is not merely about physical postures but represents a comprehensive system that creates balance between body and mind, enhancing one's ability to face life's challenges and improve concentration. He recommended that yoga should become a daily routine in everyone's life for better health and longevity. He noted that good health can be maintained through a balanced diet and regular yoga practice. He highlighted that yoga has gained paramount importance in current times and is being recognised and practiced worldwide. SP Damodar urged everyone to make yoga an integral part of their lives and emphasised the collective responsibility to pass this practice on to future generations. He called upon district residents and youth to actively participate in this programme. Ongole DSP R Srinivasarao, Ongole Taluka CI Vijaya Krishna, Ongole One Town CI Nagaraju, Ongole Two Town CI Srinivasarao, Town SIs, and other staff members participated in the programme.

SP T. Srinivasa Rao Ensures Swift Action on Public Grievances in Jogulamba Gadwal
Gadwal: In a move to ensure justice and maintain law and order in the district, Jogulamba Gadwal District Superintendent of Police (SP), Sri T. Srinivasa Rao, IPS, has directed police officials to take appropriate legal action on complaints received at police stations and ensure justice for the complainants. On Monday, during the Public Grievance Day (Praja Vani), the SP personally reviewed 16 petitions submitted by citizens from various parts of the district at the District Police Office. In the presence of the Deputy SP and Circle Inspectors, he examined each petition, interacted with the complainants to understand their issues in detail, and issued necessary instructions for legal redressal. SP Srinivasa Rao emphasized that no delay or negligence should be shown in addressing the complaints. He instructed the officials to take immediate and lawful action, and also to ensure that the progress of the investigation or action taken is regularly communicated to the complainants. The nature of the complaints received today is as follows: Disputes and altercations: 06 complaints Land disputes: 05 complaints Domestic disputes: 01 complaint Crop damage due to pigs in the village: 01 complaint Miscellaneous issues: 03 complaints The SP reiterated that the police department is committed to resolving public grievances in a transparent, lawful, and timely manner, and encouraged citizens to approach the police with any issues affecting their safety and peace.

SP resolves people's grievances at PGRS
Rajamahendravaram: East Godavari district SP D Narasimha Kishore conducted the Public Grievance Redressal System (PGRS) programme at the District Police Office here on Monday. He directly interacted with the people who came from various parts of the district. During the session, the SP personally received petitions. Issues include civil disputes, family problems, cheating cases, quarrels, and thefts were among them. He engaged with concerned police station officers via Zoom video conferencing and issued directions for appropriate legal action and resolution. As part of the police public outreach initiative 'Meekosam,' the SP, along with other senior officers, heard the grievances and assured timely and satisfactory redressal. Speaking on the occasion, SP Narasimha Kishore said that all complaints would be addressed within a stipulated time frame and efforts would be made to ensure that complainants are fully satisfied with the outcome. He informed that a total of 35 grievances were registered under PGRS during the session. Additional SP (Administration) NBM Murali Krishna, Additional SP (Law & Order) AV Subba Raju, DSP (SB) B Ramakrishna, Inspectors Srinivasa Rao (SB) and Pavan Kumar Reddy (DCRB), and other officials participated in the programme.

Burglars gang held, booty worth Rs 85 lakh recovered
Ongole: The Prakasam district police arrested a gang of notorious criminals involved in multiple house burglaries across several districts, illegal red-sanders, and ganja transportation. Addressing the media at the District Police Office here on Monday, Prakasam district SP AR Damodar explained that the Podili police received a complaint on April 14, about a burglary of 27 sovereigns of gold and about 2 kg of silver ornaments from the house of Beeram Nasar Reddy. Following an intensive investigation under the supervision of Darsi DSP B Lashminarayana, the investigation team, comprising SIs from various police stations, led by Podili Circle Inspector T Venkateswarlu, analysed the CCTV footage to identify the suspects and track their movements. The SP said that the breakthrough came when the suspects were spotted traveling from Visakhapatnam via Darsi towards Podili in their vehicle on May 4. The Podili CI and his team tried to stop the vehicle at SVKP College, but the accused tried to flee, lost control of the vehicle, and rammed into a tree. The SP said that the Podili police apprehended a three-member gang on Darsi Road in Podili town on Sunday. He said that the arrested individuals have been identified as Cheemparthi Fakruddin, Cheeparthi Mahaboob Peera, and Gandlu Latheef Basha, all residents of YSR Kadapa district. He said that the police recovered stolen property worth approximately Rs 85 lakh, including 924.33 grams of gold ornaments valued at Rs 81 lakh and 3.8 kilograms of silver items worth Rs 4.2 lakh. Additionally, about 6.19 kilograms of ganja and a white Tata Manza car bearing the registration number AP 09 CD 0246 were seized from their possession. SP Damodar announced that subsequent interrogation revealed their involvement in 16 theft cases spread across five districts, the Prakasam, Nellore, YSR Kadapa, Anantapur, and Annamayya districts. He said that the main accused, Cheemparthi Fakruddin, has an extensive criminal history with 21 prior theft cases and 74 cases related to red sandalwood smuggling. He was released from jail on January 30, after serving time under the PD Act. Gandlu Latheef Basha has been involved in 8 cases of red sandalwood smuggling, while Simpathi Mahaboob Peera had no prior criminal record before the current spree of 16 theft cases. SP Damodhar commended the efforts of the investigation team, including Darsi DSP B Lakshminarayana, Podili CI T Venkateswarlu, Podili SI V Vemana, and Konakanamitla SI T Raj Kumar for their commitment and vigilance in solving the case.
