This is not the first time X has faced widespread service disruptions. A similar outage in March was attributed to a cyberattack by Musk.

Elon Musk's Starlink to face competition from Amazon's Kuiper satellites? Here's everything we know
Elon Musk's Starlink is set to face some tough competition after years of dominating the market of internet services via satellites. Jeff Bezos' Project Kuiper entered the broadband network market with its first satellite launch in April. Now, the Amazon chief's new project is set to deploy another batch of satellites, as reported by USA Today. As per the outlet, Colorado-based United Launch Alliance is the contractor for the launch. The new batch of Amazon Kuiper satellites could get off the ground as early as Monday, June 16. One of Starlink's biggest advantages has been the SpaceX two-stage Falcon 9 rocket, which is used to launch the satellites into space. Musk's company has sent over 7,000 Starlink satellites into space since 2019, as per its website. The Federal Aviation Administration, the body responsible for licensing commercial rocket launches, recently allowed SpaceX to increase its annual Falcon 9 rocket launches from Southern California's Vandenberg Space Force Base to 50. As for Kuiper, the venture provides an opportunity for Jeff Bezos to compete with the richest man in the world. Kuiper promises to provide high-speed internet across the globe, for which it is establishing a network of satellites connected to antennas, fiber, and other equipment on the ground. The ULA Atlas V rocket could take off as early as 1:25 pm ET from Florida's Cape Canaveral Space Force Station, as per USA Today. A successful mission could double the number of satellites the company has deployed, but it still has a long way to go to catch up with Starlink. Amazon aims to invest $10 billion in Project Kuiper, including a $140 million processing plant at NASA's Kennedy Space Center to prep satellites for launch. It plans to launch around 3,232 advanced low-Earth orbit satellites in total. If things go as planned, the company said it expects to "begin delivering service to customers later this year." The plan starts at $80 per month with a hardware cost of $349, as per CNET. The high cost of Starlink can be a detriment for some users. This can depend on the 5G service provider opted for. Many 5G providers can give similar speeds to Starlink. Starlink offered a free kit to new customers in select areas if they opted for a 12-month Residential service plan.

Elon Musk's X first-ever reality TV show will allow viewers to invest in startups
Representative Image Elon Musk-owned social media platform, X (earlier Twitter), is set to launch a new reality TV show that will allow viewers to invest directly in featured startups. The series, titled 'Going Public,' is part of X's original programming and aims to compete in the financial media landscape. 'Going Public' is scheduled to stream live on June 24. This initiative aligns with X's previously stated commitment to empower smaller investors, a sentiment that X's content chief, Brett Weitz , expressed earlier this year. The show provides viewers with a direct opportunity to participate financially in the growth of new ventures. Why X's new reality show got delayed at first The show's final episode, which was originally set to be aired on June 13, was pushed back after details surfaced online. As per the report, viewers should exercise caution as founders of one of the featured startups, Dutch Mendenhall and Amy Vaughn, are under investigation by state and federal regulators in US. X's initiative opens startup investing to a broader audience, empowering smaller investors. However, the platform's history of misinformation and the involvement of founders facing regulatory probes may undermine confidence in the opportunities presented. In January, X announced its partnership with Crush Capital to license and distribute the innovative interactive investing show " Going Public ." The show follows startup founders as they compete to raise money and face tests of their business skills. Viewers learn about each company and its risks, then can 'Click to Invest' in under a minute. These companies use Regulation Crowdfunding to raise up to $5 million from everyday Americans, and since 2016, this method has generated nearly $1.5 billion.

Elon Musk's Starlink Activates Satellite Internet Service In Iran Amid Israel Tensions
Washington: US tech billionaire Elon Musk has announced that the Starlink satellite communications system has been activated in Iran after Tehran imposed nationwide internet restrictions in the wake of Israeli aggression against the Islamic Republic's nuclear program that started on Friday morning. Responding to a post on X suggesting that Tehran ordered the internet blackout to stop rebellion at home, Musk wrote, "The beams are on," confirming Starlink's activation in the country. The beams are on — Elon Musk (@elonmusk) June 14, 2025 Starlink uses low Earth orbit satellites to provide internet connectivity to remote areas where traditional communications infrastructure could not reach or has been disabled. Iran's communications ministry on Friday imposed internet restrictions across the country following Israel's wave of strikes. It said that the restrictions would be lifted "once normalcy returns". "Temporary restrictions have been imposed on the country's internet," the ministry said in a statement carried by the ISNA news agency. Meanwhile, Israel and Iran launched fresh attacks on each other overnight into Sunday, as US President Donald Trump said the conflict could be easily ended while warning Tehran not to strike any American targets. "If we are attacked in any way, shape or form by Iran, the full strength and might of the U.S. Armed Forces will come down on you at levels never seen before," Trump said in a message on Truth Social. "However, we can easily get a deal done between Iran and Israel, and end this bloody conflict," he added. In Israel, rescue teams combed through the rubble of residential buildings destroyed in Iranian strikes, using flashlights and sniffer dogs to look for survivors after at least 10 people, including children, were killed, authorities said. The Israeli military warned Iranians living near weapons facilities to evacuate, while Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said the attacks by Israel so far were nothing compared with what Iran would see in the coming days.
