BBC axing 'masterpiece' sci fi film and fans have just days to watch
Science fiction enthusiasts have only a handful of days remaining to dive into one of the most beloved contemporary sci-fi movies, which critics have hailed as a "masterpiece in every sense of the world".
Acclaimed director Denis Villeneuve, who's set to helm the next James Bond film, stunned audiences in 2017 with his eagerly awaited follow-up to Ridley Scott's legendary Blade Runner.
This sequel, which many devotees actually favour over the original, has been streaming without charge on BBC iPlayer, though this opportunity is about to expire as the broadcaster will relinquish the rights within days.
The 2017 revival unfolds 30 years following the first instalment, transporting viewers once again into a bleak, precipitation-drenched Los Angeles teeming with synthetic beings and existential questions about what constitutes genuine existence.
Ryan Gosling delivers an exceptional portrayal as K, and despite the movie avoiding heavy exposition and lengthy conversations, he succeeds in prompting audiences to contemplate the true essence of humanity, reports the Express.

Boasting an impressive "Certified Fresh" rating of 88% from both critics and viewers on Rotten Tomatoes, audiences are urging others to give it a watch. But Aaron Taylor-Johnson, one of the most consistent favourites for the role, has left things more open-ended. BBC MasterChef fans demand contestant is 'disqualified' after major error
MasterChef viewers were left fuming after a contestant made a huge error during a taste test with judges Gregg Wallace and John Torode - and they demanded he be disqualified BBC audiences called for a contestant's immediate removal from MasterChef following a catastrophic error during judging. The remaining six contenders - Naomi, Martin, Joy, Michael, Reuben and Victoria - faced the challenge of impressing Gregg Wallace and John Torode with their "basic to brilliant" creations. Contestants were instructed to transform everyday home cooking into something "extraordinary". IT project manager Reuben chose to present traditional beef and pork mince meatballs alongside handmade pappardelle pasta in tomato sauce. Catastrophe unfolded when Gregg sliced into the meatballs, revealing they remained completely raw inside, reports the Express. Despite compliments for his pasta and sauce, the judges didn't mince their words about the glaring issue. Gregg declared: "Big issue with the meatballs," whilst John stated: "I cannot ignore the fact that you've got meatballs that aren't cooked all the way through." A dejected Reuben confessed: "I'm feeling deflated. After all, they weren't cooked all the way through, so I can forgive them for not wanting to eat them." Viewers immediately flooded social media, demanding his elimination for the dangerous mistake. One viewer said: "Undercooked meatballs should be instant disqualification." Another questioned sarcastically: "Were they cooked with a blowtorch?" A third declared angrily: "Sorry, but that's a major schoolboy error at the stage he should absolutely be disqualified. Shame." This will be the last series for Gregg Wallace and John Torode, with both the BBC stars being axed. Gregg was axed from the show after law firm Lewis Silkin upheld 45 out of 85 complaints against Wallace of inappropriate behaviour. While the 60-year-old has admitted using inappropriate language at times, he denies the more serious allegations. John did not have his contract renewed with Banijay UK - who make MasterChef - after he was alleged to have used racist language amid an investigation into his former co-star's behaviour. He claimed he had no memory of making the comment and denies it ever happened. The BBC came under fire for their decision to air this new series featuring both Gregg and John. They issued a statement, which read:"After careful consideration and consultation with the contestants, we have decided to broadcast the amateur series of MasterChef on BBC One and BBC iPlayer from 6 August. MasterChef is an amazing competition which is life-changing for the amateur chefs taking part. The focus of it has always been their skill and their journey. "This has not been an easy decision in the circumstances and we appreciate not everyone will agree with it. In showing the series, which was filmed last year, it in no way diminishes our view of the seriousness of the upheld findings against both presenters. We have been very clear on the standards of behaviour that we expect of those who work at the BBC or on shows made for the BBC."

Iconic James Bond star says he will consider RETURNING for new 007 film... as role is still up for grabs
The role of James Bond is still up for grabs, but a familiar face may now be open to returning to the franchise. Pierce Brosnan, who portrayed the spy in four films, has revealed he would consider reprising his role - depending on what director Denis Villeneuve has in store for the British secret agent. In an interview with Radio Times, Pierce, 72, was asked if he would 'do Bond again - is it time for a senior citizen 007?' 'My wife Keely [Shaye Smith] and I have been listening to the drumbeat of expectation of who's going to be the next James Bond,' the Irish actor replied. 'There are many great candidates out there, and I'm sure they're going to make it a spectacle of delight. I don't think anyone wants to see a craggy, 72-year-old Bond, but if [next 007 director Denis] Villeneuve had something up his sleeve I would look at it in a heartbeat. 'Why not? It's great entertainment. It could be lots of laughs. Bald caps, prosthetics… who knows?' Pierce portrayed the iconic spy on the big screen in 1995's GoldenEye, 1997's Tomorrow Never Dies, 1999's The World Is Not Enough, and 2002's Die Another Day. Now actor Aaron Taylor Johnson has emerged as the man most likely to replace Daniel Craig. Taylor Johnson has previously played it cool when asked about the possibility of him becoming Bond, telling Esquire: 'It's not really for me to stay anything.' Should he be named as Bond, the actor will be working with Steven Knight, who has signed up to write the latest James Bond movie, Amazon MGM Studios confirmed in July. The British screenwriter is perhaps best known as the creator of the hugely popular BBC crime drama Peaky Blinders starring Cillian Murphy. And now he's set to lend his talents to the long-running spy franchise by drafting the script for the newest 007 film, with Knight revealing that it has always been on his 'bucket list'. The latest Bond film is currently in development and is to be helmed by Dune director Denis Villeneuve, with Amazon MGM Studios overseeing the project after longtime producer Barbara Broccoli gave up creative control. Meanwhile, Amy Pascal and David Heyman are on board to produce the movie via Pascal Pictures and Heyday Films respectively, while Tanya Lapointe will serve as executive producer.
