Conor McGregor plays football at Napoli's stadium before being swarmed by fans

Conor McGregor enjoyed a kickabout at Napoli's iconic on Saturday in his bare feet. The MMA fighter is currently holidaying in Naples with his family. Footage shared on social media shows a topless McGregor kicking a ball on the pitch at the home of the Serie A champions. He was later swarmed by a large group of people as he made his way to his luxury yacht in the Italian city. The former two-weight UFC champion is seemingly preparing for his Octagon return and trained at a gym in Naples during the week wearing a Napoli jersey. He is hoping to fight at the UFC's White House on July 4 next year. UFC President Dana White revealed he plans to meet US President Donald Trump and his daughter Ivanka at the end of August to finalise the arrangements for the event. Next summer's show will be the first time a UFC fight card will be held at the White House. "It is definitely going to happen," White, a big supporter of the US president, told CBS television. "I talked to him last night -- 'him' being the president -- and I'm flying out there at the end of this month, and I'm going to sit down and walk him through all the plans and the renderings, and we're going to start deciding what he wants and doesn't want." The UFC boss added: "When he called me and asked me to do it, he said: 'I want Ivanka in the middle of this.' So Ivanka reached out to me, and her and I started talking about the possibilities, where it would be and, you know, I put together all the renderings." White isn't ruling out the possibility of McGregor returning, but he wants to see real commitment from the Dubliner. "I mean, if you see, he's been posting videos of himself training, he's back in the pool now, he wants the White House fight," White told Pardon My Take. "Listen, if he starts getting in shape and starts training and stays the course, that's the fight he wants, he keeps telling me he wants that fight so we'll see how it plays out over the next few months."

McGregor breaks silence after being 'removed' from UFC as he gives X-rated reply

Conor McGregor gave an X-rated response to a fan after reports claimed he had been 'removed' from the official UFC roster. UFC Roster Tracker claimed that the Dubliner had been removed from the active roster, but Dana White dismissed the reports, saying they were "Total b*******". McGregor's team also dismissed the claim, with journalist Ariel Helwani speaking to the former two-weight champion and his team. In a post shared on X, Helwani wrote: "Conor McGregor HAS NOT parted ways the UFC. Both @TheNotoriousMMA and his team confirmed this to me. He also confirmed he is back in the pool, has submitted tests and all have come back clean. 'It's all systems a go,' he said." McGregor furiously responded to a fan who shared the claim on X, writing: 'First test fully clean. P****." He deleted the post shortly afterwards. The Notorious is planning a comeback next year, with a potential return on 4 July 2026, following White's confirmation of the promotion's planned visit to the White House on that date. White revealed he has plans to meet with US President Donald Trump and his daughter Ivanka at the end of the month to finalise the arrangements. This will be the first time a UFC fight card will be held at the White House. "It is definitely going to happen," White, a prominent supporter of the US president, told CBS television. So Ivanka reached out to me, and her and I started talking about the possibilities, where it would be and, you know, I put together all the renderings." White isn't ruling out the possibility of McGregor's return, but he'll insist his star fighter shows real commitment. "I mean, if you see, he's been posting videos of himself training, he's back in the pool now, he wants the White House fight," White told Pardon My Take. ‘I think it'd be really difficult for him' – Howard Webb thinks it's unlikely David Coote could return to refereeing

Former Premier League match official Coote was on Tuesday given an eight-week suspension by the Football Association over abusive words he used about ex-Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp. He was sacked by Professional Game Match Officials Limited (PGMOL) in December, a month after the video filmed in July 2020 came to light. The 43-year-old has a potential route back into football after the FA said he would be free to officiate again after serving the ban and completing an education programme. But PGMOL boss Webb feels that is unlikely. 'I think it'd be really difficult for David to come back, I'm afraid to say,' said Webb. 'He's somebody that we stayed in contact with, somebody who was part of our refereeing family for a long time and served the game for a long period of time and I've known him personally for many years. 'It's sad what happened with David but I think it would be challenging for him to come back.' Coote's misconduct was defined as an aggravated breach under the FA's rules because there was a reference to Klopp's nationality. In the video, he described Klopp as a 'German c***' and said he was 'f****** arrogant'. Coote was banned by European football's governing body UEFA until June 30, 2026 after a different video emerged of him snorting a white powder through a bank note while in Germany for Euro 2024. In January, Coote came out as gay and said a lifelong struggle to hide his sexuality had contributed to the rant about Klopp and his drug use. ADVERTISEMENT Webb said PGMOL has reviewed and 'beefed up' its support for match officials and their families in the wake of Coote's downfall. 'When it became apparent David had made some bad choices away from the football field, we had to care for him and we had to try to understand why he'd made some of those choices and were they connected to the job,' said Webb. I think it'd be really difficult for David to come back, I'm afraid to say Howard Webb 'We spoke to all of our officials and there was some feedback from them about the support that they think they need. 'It was a good time for us to reflect on the services that we do provide. 'We've got sports psychologists and some element of mental health and wellbeing and support. But there was a recognition that could be beefed up.' Webb, who took charge of the 2010 Champions League and World Cup finals before retiring in 2014, encouraged match officials to be open about personal issues. 'I don't want officials to have a fear that if they step forward and say, 'can we have a chat?' that that's going to impact their appointments,' said the 54-year-old. 'We wanted to really emphasise to them that doing that was a sign of strength and not weakness. 'I think we've made good ground over the last few months in that respect because we've probably not had those conversations previously. I think we've had a few of them since. 'Having been there myself, traditionally you'd say I've got to show strength, I've got to show nobody's getting to me, I've got a thick skin. But I think over time it can weigh you down.'
