Sanjay Dutt To Team Up With Mahesh Manjrekar For Hindi Remake Of Marathi Film?
Sanjay Dutt is reportedly in talks to collaborate with filmmaker-actor Mahesh Manjrekar for the Hindi remake of a popular Marathi film. If things go well, then it will mark another exciting reunion for the two, who have previously worked together in films like Vaastav: The Reality (1999), a cult classic.
As per reports by Bollywood Hungama, 'Mahesh Manjrekar directed Juna Furniture, and he played the main lead. The film got a lot of critical acclaim for its message, subject, and performances. Mahesh realized that it has the potential to touch the Hindi-speaking audiences as well. Hence, he has begun work on the scripting of the Hindi remake."
The source also claimed, 'He has approached Sanjay Dutt as he feels that the veteran actor will do complete justice to the role. Both Mahesh Manjrekar and Sanjay Dutt are fond of each other. They have had a great time working with each other and it's been a while since they collaborated on a project. This was also a reason why the filmmaker was keen on getting the actor on board. However, Sanjay Dutt is yet to reply to Mr Manjrekar on whether he'll be able to act in the remake."
Sanjay Dutt's Work Front
The actor will be next seen in the upcoming action thriller, Baaghi 4, co-starring Tiger Shroff, Sonam Bajwa and Harnaaz Sandhu. Helmed by A Harsha and backed by Sajid Nadiadwala, the film is slated to hit the big screens on September 5. It will face a big box office clash with Vivek Agnihotri's upcoming film, The Bengal Files.
Besides this, Sanjay also has Prabhas' The Raja Saab, Dhruva Sarja's pan-India project KD: The Devil and Director Aditya Dhar's much anticipated Dhurandhar with Ranveer Singh and Akshaye Khanna in his kitty.
Dhurandhar Release Date and Box Office Clash
Despite the disruption, Dhurandhar is still slated to release on December 5, 2025. The teaser, unveiled on Ranveer Singh's birthday, already generated buzz with its scale and ensemble cast. However, the film won't enjoy a solo release. It faces stiff competition from Vishal Bhardwaj's untitled project with Shahid Kapoor, releasing on the same day. Adding to the clash, Prabhas' The Raja Saab is scheduled to hit screens a day later on December 6, 2025, though speculation suggests it may be postponed.

Desperate because she was jobless, veteran actor wanted to ‘slap and abuse' Balaji Telefilms for offering peanuts to do Pavitra Rishta
Veteran actor Usha Nadkarni, best known for playing the role of Savita Deshmukh in the popular TV show Pavitra Rishta, spoke about her decades-long career and the struggles that she has faced along the way. She opened up about her solitary personal life, and also expressed her irritation at the idea of auditions. She said that she was made to audition by Ekta Kapoor's production house Balaji Telefilms, but had no choice because she'd quit her day job and was desperate for work. Usha said that despite having worked with Balaji before, she was offered peanuts for Pavitra Rishta. Starring late actor Sushant Singh Rajput and actor Ankita Lokhande, Pavitra Rishta was one of the longest-running shows on Zee TV; it ran from 2009 to 2014. In an interview with Pinkvilla, Usha revealed that she was jobless at the time. 'I went for an audition. There was no work at that time. I was sitting at home, I had left my job. For Balaji, I had already done Thodi Si Zameen, Thoda Asmaan and Kuch Iss Tarah, fir bhi mujhe audition ke liye bulaaya (they called me to audition), I lost my mind. I didn't have work so I still went to audition,' she shared. The actor added, 'One more artist from our Marathi industry was already there. They gave the dialogues to both of us to read. Dimaag garam tha (I was angry), saree pehni, baal baandhe khud hi, they called me after her audition was done. I learned one and a half pages of dialogues and did it.' 'I then got a call to come down to the office after two days. When they told me the fees, I wanted to slap the person sitting in front of me. Wanted to abuse him, I know a lot of cuss words. If I say them, they would feel bad, but kya karun? Khujli thi kaam karne ki (I wanted work, hence I did it),' she said. After giving a nod, she was happy to receive the audience's appreciation. 'When I did it, everyone felt good, Ekta ma'am was also happy. People used to ask me on the streets that why am I torturing Ankita, I told them because I get money to do that. I have travelled a lot because of Pavitra Rishta, I even went to Israel. People were mad for that serial there,' Usha concluded.
