U.S. Envoy: Washington to Present New Proposal for Gaza Agreement

U.S. envoy Steve Whitkoff stated that the United States (U.S.) is on the verge of submitting a new set of terms aimed at reaching an agreement concerning Gaza, expressing hope that the proposal would be delivered later today.
"We are seeking a long-term resolution to the conflict in the Middle East," he said.
Whitkoff voiced optimism about the possibility of achieving a temporary ceasefire in Gaza and urged all parties to accept the American proposals as a path toward resolving the crisis.

Egypt's FM Meets with EU Ambassadors in Cairo
Taarek Refaat Badr Abdel Aty, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Immigration met with the European ambassadors in Cairo on Friday, where he reviewed in detail the court ruling issued on May 28 regarding the lands surrounding Saint Catherine's Monastery. The minister emphasized that the court ruling affirmed that Saint Catherine's Monastery, its archaeological sites, its spiritual value, its religious significance, and its cemeteries should not be affected. He noted that the court ruling marks the first time the status of the monastery has been preserved and confirms its sacred status. In this context, he referred to the call held today between His Excellency the President of Egypt and the Greek Prime Minister, in which they affirmed Egypt's full commitment to preserving the unique and sacred religious status of Saint Catherine's Monastery and not to harm it. The Foreign Minister added that the court ruling preserves the spiritual value and high religious status of the monastery, and approved the continued use of the monastery's monks and the area's religious and archaeological sites. He indicated that efforts will be made to reach an agreement to settle the situation between the local authorities and Saint Catherine's Monastery. The Foreign Minister emphasized the need for accuracy and to avoid issuing false and preconceived judgments before reviewing the full text of the court ruling, in light of the rumors surrounding the confiscation of the monastery and its lands. OPEN// Egypt condemns Israeli decision to construct 22 new settlements in WB
CAIRO, May 30 (MENA) - Egypt strongly condemned on Friday the Israeli occupation authority's approval of the construction of 22 new settlements in the occupied West Bank. It described the move as a new, blatant, and provocative violation of international law and Palestinian rights, noting that the international community, which is aspiring to achieve just-based peace, rejects the step. In a statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Egypt reiterated that the decision represents a flagrant breach of the international legitimacy resolutions, topped with the Fourth Geneva Convention of 1949 in Occupied Palestinian Territory, UN Security Council resolutions including Resolution 2334, in addition to the advisory opinion of the International Court of Justice on the Israeli occupation of Palestinian territories. Egypt reaffirmed that the establishment of an independent Palestinian state along the June 4, 1967, borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital, is a basic right for the Palestinian people and a legitimate, irreversible demand of the international community. It stressed that the Israeli settlements have no legal basis and constitute a blatant violation of international law and the Fourth Geneva Convention, which prohibits an occupying power from transferring parts of its civilian population into the territory it occupies.
