Watch: Vijay's fan breaches security for a selfie, actor security guard points gun at him
There are actors and then there is Thalapathy Vijay. The Tamil superstar enjoys a crazy fanbase. Now, a video of a fan trying to click a picture with the actor has surfaced online. Here, Vijay is seen getting down from his car and making way towards the Madurai airport. A few seconds into the clip, a man breaches the security and tries to approach Vijay. At this moment, a security guard points a gun at the fan. The incident has triggered a heated debate on X (formerly Twitter).
So much so that Vijay had to issue a public apology. Addressing the media at Chennai airport, Vijay has requested fans not to follow his car or convoy. 'Don't follow my van or ride two-wheelers without helmets. It scares me. Very soon, I will meet you all in a different situation under the party banner. Please be safe and return home after seeing me,' he said. Meanwhile, Vijay has already declared that he will contest in the 2026 Assembly Polls. He will represent his party, Tamizhaga Vetri Kazhagam (TVK).
Last year, at a public rally, Thalapathy Vijay opened up about his journey in the industry.He said, 'I have thrown away the peak of my career, and I have thrown away the salary.. I'm here as your VIJAY with a trust in you all.' 'At the beginning of my cinema career, I was told that my face is not good, I am not a great personality, my style is not good, and even my hair and my walk were not good. They shamed me like this,' he added.

Where does Kamal Haasan stand on the issue of imposition of Hindi in the south? 'I stand with Punjab. I stand with Karnataka. I stand with Andhra,' is his quick reply. The pan-India superstar's latest film Thug Life, the 234th in a 65-year career, released in theatres this week amid controversy over his comment that Kannada was born out of Tamil. 'Without imposition, we will learn. Don't impose, because this is ultimately education and we must take the shortest route to education… and not put hurdles in its way,' the actor said. The ruling DMK in his home state Tamil Nadu has long opposed the three-language policy introduced under the National Education Policy (NEP). The party has repeatedly accused the BJP-led NDA government of attempting to 'impose Hindi', a charge the Centre has denied. Stressing that the imposition of a particular language only hampers the learning process, the 70-year-old said, 'I stand with Punjab. I stand with Karnataka. I stand with Andhra. This is not only place which is resenting imposition.' The Indian cinema stalwart, hugely popular in the south as well as in the north with films such as Nayakan, Thevar Magan, Sadma, Saagar and Chachi 420 that bridged language divides, said if you are truly looking at 'international breakthrough' you must learn one language. He said, 'And English seems to be fair enough. You can do Spanish also, or Chinese. But I think the most practical thing where the shortest route to that is that we have 350 years of English education, slowly but steadily. So when you suddenly replace it, it's all over again. You make unnecessarily many people illiterate, especially in Tamil Nadu. You suddenly force all through Hindi and you tell them that you will not get your job beyond the Vindhyas, then you start wondering, what about the promises? What about my language? Am I not one of the 22 (official languages)? These are the questions that are coming.' Tamil is one of the 22 official languages of the country, apart from Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Hindi, Kannada, Kashmiri, Konkani, Malayalam, Manipuri, Marathi, Nepali, Oriya, Punjabi, Sanskrit, Sindhi, Telugu, Urdu, Bodo, Santhali, Maithili and Dogri. After a rap from the court over the remark, the producers said Thug Life will not be released in Karnataka.

'The drugs were the biggest cost. To hide those from my accountant, we called them 'vintage clothes.' And so she would get these checks of thousands of dollars' worth of vintage clothes,' she said. However, the 'Flowers' singer's accountant would then ask her to see the merchandise of the purchase. Recalling the conversation, the 32-year-old said, 'Every time she saw me, she'd be like, 'Where's that $15,000 original John Lennon T-shirt that you bought?' 'It's like, 'Oh, it's upstairs. Would you like some?' So I bought a lot of vintage clothes that year,' she added, according to Entertainment Weekly. Furthermore, Cyrus stated that her approach towards songwriting is different when she is not indulging in any substance. 'I feel like the things that I was able to find — I can write songs as well [while sober], but I can't find things like 'Tangerine,' she added. Miley Cyrus's sobriety is like her god...
