Temperatures will dip slightly before heading into hot weekend

Yahooa day ago

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — Expect a slight dip in Wednesday afternoon temperatures — maybe 1 to 3 degrees cooler than Tuesday.
Hot and dry conditions
Afternoon breezes will last through next week
Staying above normal
The forecast calls for a high temperature of 106 degrees. Air quality is in the moderate range due to breezy winds and lower temperatures, which are keeping ozone levels in check.
Winds will strengthen in the afternoon with gusts between 20 to 30 mph, decreasing in the evening and overnight hours. Winds will hang around through next week. Even though winds won't prompt any wind alerts, they can bring increasing fire weather concerns to our region due to the dry vegetation. Fortunately, we aren't in the critical category for fire danger.
As we take a look ahead to the weekend, afternoon highs seem to rise by 2-4 degrees again, with increasing clouds and breezy winds. Sunday seems to be the hottest day of the weekend with a high temperature of 108 degrees. Because that's Father's Day, many people will be out and about, so it's important to stay hydrated and cool.

Chilly weather springs back for Ontario's Father's Day weekend

After a brief taste of summer this week, the upcoming weekend will feature a return to spring-like weather, including a threat for rain. However, Father's Day weekend will also include some sunshine and opportunities to enjoy outdoor activities. For more details on what you can expect this weekend, please read on! DON'T MISS: As we kick off the weekend on Friday, cooler weather will continue to spread across southern Ontario with temperatures more typical of early to mid-May, especially around the west end of Lake Ontario due to the east wind off the lake. However, summer weather won't be far away as southwestern Ontario will see temperatures in the mid 20s for one more day. We will see a mix of sun and cloudy periods during Friday with a low risk for passing showers. However, during Friday afternoon and Friday night, there will be an increasing threat for showers across cottage country. The rain should end early on Saturday across cottage country, then clouds will mix with sunny breaks. MUST SEE: Saturday will bring a mixture of clouds and sunny breaks. However, we will have brisk east wind off Lake Ontario and that will keep temperatures well below seasonal. Sunday will be the best weather day of the weekend for outdoor activities. While we can't completely rule out a passing shower, most of southern Ontario will be dry with a mixture of sunshine and cloudy periods. SEE ALSO: Temperatures will be noticeably warmer on Sunday - not hot, but cottage country will be near seasonal for mid June. Temperatures will be a few degrees cooler near the west end of Lake Ontario due to a light east wind off the lake, but it will still be a pleasant day. The warming trend will continue into early next week, but the threat for passing showers and thunderstorms will return. Click here to view the video

Weekend Forecast: Slight chance of rain for Father's Day

If you have any outdoor plans for this Father's Day Weekend, you may need to keep an eye on the sky as there will be a slight chance for rain. It will be a typical June weekend. Warm, humid, with a chance of a pop-up shower in the afternoon hours. Friday returns soggy weather, which will lead to on-and-off rainfall for the majority of the day. Totals will thankfully remain on the light side when compared to the recent downpours we have become accustomed to. We will begin the process of wrapping up the rain on Saturday with skies clearing by the afternoon. I expect most people to stay dry; however, I can't rule out the chance for a stray shower to develop. Similar conditions linger for Sunday. High temperatures will climb into the mid to upper 80s for both days. Water levels are starting to return to safe floating levels after the record rainfall we've received in the spring. Most rivers are running a bit higher than normal. With that being said, they shouldn't pose any problem for any non-first-time floaters.
