Dubai Ruler recognized by UAE President for promoting human values, advancing nation

The UAE President and Abu Dhabi Ruler, H.H. Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, commended the UAE Vice President and Dubai Ruler and Prime Minister, H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum for promoting human values inspired by Islamic principles and advancing the nation.
H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid has made history as the first-ever recipient of the Emirates International Holy Quran Award – Personality of the Year 2025, recognizing his contributions to the Holy Quran and its reciters both in the UAE and worldwide.
His Highness the President presented H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid with a special edition of his Mushaf, a written copy of the Holy Quran.
Additionally, H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid received a framed photograph of them together with the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, along with a signed letter of appreciation. The letter honors his unwavering commitment to the Holy Quran, including publishing its copies, supporting its reciters, promoting Quranic competitions, and preserving the Arabic language.
Moreover, His Highness the President praised the Dubai Ruler's role in advancing the nation's progress and supporting the development of its people. He also highlighted his contributions to the UAE and his humanitarian and cultural initiatives.
H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid's contributions to the Holy Quran included several key initiatives, such as:

His Highness also established the Mohammed bin Rashid Centre for Printing the Holy Quran and played a significant role in developing Quranic institutions and academies.

This requirement will be increased to 300 minutes weekly starting from the 2026/27 academic teacher Samiya Ali described the initiative as a meaningful step toward nurturing a culturally grounded generation."It's about connecting the next generation to their linguistic heritage, which goes beyond literacy," said Ali, who teaches KG1 students at Al Forsan Charter Kindergarten School."Arabic is a cultural bridge that connects young learners to their history, identity, and community — it's more than just a subject."The new ADEK School KG Arabic Curriculum Policy is grounded in robust research. A survey conducted by the education department revealed that although Arabic is widely spoken at home, many children still lack confidence in using the address this, the policy places a strong emphasis on parental involvement. 9 June 2025 00:21 ABU DHABI (ALETIHAD)Under the directives of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler's Representative in Al Dhafra Region and Chairman of the Environment Agency – Abu Dhabi (EAD), aimed at conserving, protecting, and enhancing fisheries resources, the emirate has recorded significant achievements, for the sixth consecutive year, in its marine monitoring and conservation efforts to mark World Oceans has achieved an increase in the Sustainable Fisheries Index, reaching 97.4 percent by the end of 2024, up from just 8.9 percent in 2018. This performance reaffirms Abu Dhabi's leadership in sustainable fisheries Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan said, 'This achievement reflects our unwavering commitment and the diligent efforts of the Environment Agency – Abu Dhabi to safeguard our natural wealth and optimise sustainable marine resource stewardship. It reinforces Abu Dhabi's ambitious vision to strike a harmonious balance between economic growth and environmental sustainability, serving as a global model for confronting environmental challenges for a prosperous and resilient future.'Her Excellency Dr. Shaikha Salem Al Dhaheri, Secretary General of EAD, said, 'The significant progress recorded in the Sustainable Fisheries Index underscores Abu Dhabi's leadership in environmental conservation. We are committed to deploying best-in-class management practices and leveraging scientific capabilities to restore fish populations and protect marine ecosystems. This success affirms the importance of evidence-based policy and global best practices in conserving our natural heritage for future generations.'EAD's recent monitoring efforts also yielded notable findings that further validate the success of its marine sustainability agenda. These include the landing of 55 nuaimi fish– a species rarely sighted in recent years – as well as the first recorded presence of the white-spotted grouper in Abu Dhabi, now officially registered on the international Fish Base database. Additional sightings include rare species such as the large-scaled triggerfish and the spotted oceanic triggerfish, as well as the general presence of larger fish, indicating healthier marine has implemented a comprehensive series of internationally aligned policies for fish stock recovery. These measures include regulating commercial fishing activities through sustainable methods, as well as implementing new regulations for recreational fishing. The Agency has also established six marine reserves within the Sheikh Zayed Protected Areas Network where fishing is regulated, enhanced sustainable aquaculture and fish stocks through coral culture and artificial reefs as part of the Abu Dhabi Coral Gardens initiative.
