
La Liga's top scorer... Real Madrid star Mbappe wins 2025 European Golden Shoe

French star Kylian Mbappe, in his first season with Real Madrid, won the European Golden Shoe as the top scorer in the top five European leagues, surpassing Egyptian star Mohamed Salah of Liverpool.
Mbappé clinched the European Golden Shoe race after topping the list with 62 points, ahead of his closest competitor, Swedish striker Viktor Gyorgykres of Sporting Lisbon, who collected 58.5 points.
Mbappe is the first Real Madrid player to win this award since Portuguese star Cristiano Ronaldo won it for the fourth time in his career in the 2014-2015 season with 48 goals (96 points).
The 26-year-old is also the first French player to win this award since his compatriot, former star Thierry Henry, who won it with Arsenal in the 2004-2005 season with a total of 25 goals (50 points), tying with former Uruguayan star Diego Forlán, the striker. Villarreal, Spain at the time.

Egypt's Pyramids Win CAF Champions League for First Time in Their History
Cairo – Saba: Egyptian club Pyramids FC were crowned champions of the CAF Champions League after defeating South Africa's Mamelodi Sundowns 2–1 in the second leg of the final, held on Sunday at the Air Defense Stadium in Cairo. Fiston Mayele opened the scoring for Pyramids in the 23rd minute, followed by a brilliant header from Ahmed Sami in the 56th minute to make it 2–0. In the 75th minute, Iqraam Rayners pulled one back for the South African side after capitalizing on a rebound from the Pyramids defense. The first leg, held last week in Pretoria, ended in a 1–1 draw, giving Pyramids a 3–2 aggregate win and securing their first-ever continental title. With this historic victory, Pyramids become the fourth Egyptian club to win the prestigious CAF Champions League, joining the ranks of Al Ahly, Zamalek, and Ismaily. Real Madrid announces departure of defender Vallejo following contract expiry
Madrid - Saba: Real Madrid announced on Friday the departure of defender Jesús Vallejo following the expiration of his contract with the club at the end of the current 2024-2025 season. In a statement published on its official website, the Royal Club said: "Real Madrid CF announces the end of Jesús Vallejo's journey at Real Madrid." The statement added: "Real Madrid extends its gratitude to Jesús Vallejo for his professionalism, dedication, and hard work, and wishes him and his family all the best in this new chapter of his life." Vallejo, 28, joined Real Madrid from Zaragoza in 2015 but only played for Los Blancos in five seasons, making 35 appearances and scoring one goal. During his time at the club, Vallejo was loaned out five times—to Zaragoza, Eintracht Frankfurt, Wolverhampton Wanderers, and Granada (twice). With Real Madrid, Vallejo won the UEFA Champions League twice, the FIFA Club World Cup four times, the UEFA Super Cup three times, and the Spanish Super Cup twice, in addition to one La Liga title and one Copa del Rey. On the international stage, Vallejo won a silver medal with the Spanish Olympic team at the 2020 Tokyo Games and claimed the UEFA European Under-21 and Under-19 Championships.
