Leak claims to reveal color options for the Pixel 10, Pixel 10 Pro, Pixel 10 Pro XL
It's hard to believe that the Pixel 10 line will be released this year. For the first time, the phones will be powered by an application processor (AP) designed by Google from the ground up. The Tensor G5 will no longer be made up of bits and pieces from Samsung and its Exynos chipsets. For example, the Samsung 5G modems used on past Tensor chips will be replaced with a MediaTek modem. Instead of being manufactured by Samsung Foundry using its 4nm node like the Tensor G4 was, the G5 will be built by leading foundry TSMC using its third-generation 3nm process node (N3P). There are quite a few reasons why Pixel fans should upgrade to one of the new Pixel 10 models . These are the same reasons why Galaxy S and iPhone users should consider giving the Pixel a shot this year.

Many consider the new Tensor G5 a good reason for switching since Google will have more of a say in the AP's creation which in theory means that it can add custom features to the Pixel 10 line.

Since the line will feature Android 16 pre-installed, it will receive updates up to and including Android 23. Rumors call for the Pixel 10 to start at the same $799 price as the Pixel 9. The Pixel 9 Pro was priced at $999 and up and the Pixel Pro XL started at $1,099. The Pixel 10 Pro is expected to keep the same pricing while the Pixel 10 Pro XL could start $100 higher at $1,199. If there is any great news about pricing for the upcoming Pixel 10 series, it would be the big price cut said to be coming to the Pixel 10 Pro Fold which is rumored to cost $1,599 and up down from the $1,799 and up price for the Pixel 9 Pro Fold.

Samsung Galaxy A17 to borrow a camera feature from its higher-end siblings
Samsung launched the Galaxy A16 back in October, and it's now working on its successor, the Galaxy A17. While we're most likely still a few months away from this model's introduction, a new rumor out of Korea today has some good news for those looking forward to its release. Apparently, the Galaxy A17's main camera will have optical image stabilization (OIS). Once a feature exclusive to flagships, this has trickled down Samsung's Galaxy A series of mid-rangers in the past few years, and now it seems like it's ready to make it to one of its entry-level devices as well. To keep costs down, Samsung is considering using an OIS system that uses springs, which is allegedly 20% cheaper compared to existing OIS implementations. Samsung Galaxy A16 So far, OIS has made it as low as the Galaxy A2x series with the A26 most recently featuring the tech. Obviously, Samsung wants to use the addition of OIS to the Galaxy A17 as a key differentiator compared to its competitors, and thus increase sales. Whether that works remains to be seen, but we are glad to see such features that used to be flagship-only not so many years ago making their way to even low-end handsets like this one. YouTube app will no longer work on some older iPhone and iPad models
When Steve Jobs unveiled the original generation iPhone in 2007, many were surprised to see the device come with a pre-installed YouTube client. Apple even mentioned this in an ad it ran for the iPhone. "You'll be surprised by some of the stuff you find on YouTube," says the voiceover announcer while the ad shows the YouTube client on the device. As we see a YouTube video of a dog riding on a skateboard, the announcer adds, "But when it comes right down to it, maybe the biggest surprise is finding YouTube on your phone." Things changed with the release of iOS 6 beta 4 in 2012 when Apple removed the YouTube client from iOS (along with Google Maps). Google created iOS apps for YouTube and Google Maps that iPhone users continue to use to this day. But YouTube recently updated its iOS app to version 20.22.1 and with this update came an important change. To install the YouTube app on an iPhone, the handset must be running iOS 16 or later. As a result, several older iPhone models are no longer able to use the YouTube app. The iPhone models no longer compatible with the YouTube app are those that cannot be updated past iOS 15. These models include the following: iPhone 6s iPhone 6s Plus iPhone 7 iPhone 7 Plus iPhone SE (first-generation) Also included in this list is the iPod touch 7. As for the iPad, the YouTube app now requires that the tablet run iPadOS 16 or later. As a result, there are a couple of iPad models that will no longer be compatible with the iOS YouTube app. These models are the iPad Air 2 and iPad mini 4. Samsung just won this year's foldable contest, except perhaps in the U.S.
Some time later this year, Samsung will launch the much-awaited Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7 foldable smartphones. And if the rumors are true — they very likely are — then Samsung has already won this year's foldable contest. Well…except perhaps in the U.S. You see, the foldable industry isn't really doing too hot nowadays. Some phone manufacturers are actually considering pulling out of this segment entirely due to poor sales. Samsung is one of the very few smartphone brands that still considers it profitable enough to continue making foldables. And even then, the company has had to massively tone down sales expectations for the upcoming Fold 7 and Flip 7 . So Samsung had to find a way to make sure that this year's stock of Galaxy foldables actually sold out. And it might just have done so, at least in most of the world. The Fold 6 was great, but the Fold 7 will be much better for the same price. | Image credit — PhoneArena A very reputable industry insider, especially when it comes to news about the Galaxy phones, has just shared that Samsung is not increasing the prices of its upcoming foldables. To further clarify: the Fold 7 and Flip 7 will cost the same as their predecessors in most regions. This, in my opinion, was a crucial step for Samsung to take. The company is also working on a tri-foldable smartphone that is slated for release later this year. Samsung has already decided that the tri-foldable will see a very limited release in only a select few markets. This is because the company does not expect to sell too many of these phones due to their the Fold 7 and Flip 7 are going to come with better hardware and larger displays, they don't have enough improvements to necessarily warrant an upgrade for most users. Keeping them at the same price as the Fold 6 and Flip 6 gives consumers more incentive to give the company's new phones a try. It is highly likely that the U.S. will, in fact, see more expensive Galaxy foldables this year compared to most of the is, of course, due to the current ongoing problems that companies are facing due to extremely volatile and ever-changing tariff rates. Samsung has not nearly been affected as badly as its largest rival in the States, Apple, but it is still seeing some disruptions company moved all of its production out of China years ago, which has saved it from the most unpredictable tariff rates currently in play. However, its other manufacturing hubs in Vietnam, India, and Indonesia are subject to high tariffs as well. If there is any region that I would bet is going to see more expensive Flip 7 and Fold 7 models, it's the U.S. Apple is also considering raising prices for the upcoming iPhone 17 series, and certain other products have already been slapped with higher price tags. The question now is, are consumers in the U.S. willing to pay more for the same product? Samsung has genuinely made some great improvements to the Galaxy Z Fold 7 , including a larger display and a thinner chassis. But the Fold 6 is also still a great choice for a foldable might begin to see older phones skyrocketing in popularity in the States until the whole tariff business has calmed down. Worst case scenario, for the phone manufacturers in particular, is that they'll have to wait four years for the current administration's term to end, so things can go back to normal. It's highly unlikely that any major company is going to seriously consider moving production to the U.S. I would decide based on just how big the price difference is. If Samsung and Apple go overboard with their prices, then the iPhone 16 and the Galaxy Z Fold 6 will be much more viable options. However, if the price increase isn't too hard to stomach — which is a very different threshold for every individual — then it might be worth splurging a little extra anyway.
