The wild step Cameron Heyward would take to prevent Steelers from trading T.J. Watt
The Steelers defensive end said Wednesday, in a tongue-in-cheek way, that if he caught wind that a trade was going to occur that he would go up to the GM and tell him, 'That's not happening.'
'If there's even a trade that gets up there, I don't think it helps our team to trade a guy like that,' Heyward said during an appearance on the 'Rich Eisen Show.'

Heyward appeared on Wednesday's show with WWE wrestler Seth Rollins, who was hosting alongside Chris Brockman.
The Steelers' defensive end broke into laughter when Rollins followed up by asking if Heyward had the power to do that.
'No, no, I don't have that power,' he replied. 'I'd be like, guys, we have to have a talk. I don't know if it's even going to work, but I'm gonna throw my hat in the ring and say this cannot happen.'
Talks have continued to drag on over a contract extension for Watt, though it's expected he will end up getting a deal that will surpass an annual average value of $40 million.

The Steelers also reportedly did their due diligence in inquiring about Watt's trade value.
'Man, that's my brother,' Heyward added. 'I want [Watt] to get paid what he deserves. That dude is one of the most fierce and best players in our league. And he's respected throughout the league. I've had the best time being able to play with him, and I hope this year is not the last time we play together, because that dude, that's my running mate, and we create a lot of havoc together. And I just want to see that guy continue to be a Pittsburgh Steeler, and be a one-helmet guy.'
The Steelers are set to kick off training camp on July 24, and the picture should start to become clearer over what will happen with Watt.

Steelers announce 2025 Hall of Honor class headlined by Ben Roethlisberger
Few NFL franchises can boast the sheer volume of talent over the decades that the Pittsburgh Steelers can. The Pro Football Hall of Fame is filled with former Steelers and the franchise has six Super Bowl championships. The team also has their own Ring of Honor and each year a select few former Steelers legends get their names added. On Saturday, the Steelers announced the three former Steelers who will be a part of the 2025 class. This class is headlined by quarterback Ben Roethlisberger. He is joined by center Maurkice Pouncey and outside linebacker Joey Porter. To be considered for the Hall of Honor, a player must be retired for at least three seasons, have spent at least three seasons with the Steelers, and obviously have had a significant impact on the team during their tenure. Other members of the Hall of Honor include Terry Bradshaw, Joe Greene, Franco Harris, Jack Lambert, Jack Ham, Mel Blount, Mike Webster, Dermontti Dawson, John Stallworth, Rod Woodson, Troy Polamalu, Donnie Shell, Ernie Stautner, Jerome Bettis, and Alan Faneca. According to the team's press release, the Steelers will welcome the 2025 Hall of Honor Class when the team takes on the Miami Dolphins on Monday, Dec. 15.

Minkah Fitzpatrick bold predictions after shocking Dolphins trade
The post Minkah Fitzpatrick bold predictions after shocking Dolphins trade appeared first on ClutchPoints. While Miami Dolphins receiver Tyreek Hill expresses sadness over his teammate's blockbuster trade, the team must contemplate its next move. Also, here are bold predictions for safety Minkah Fitzpatrick after the shocking deal that sent him to the Dolphins. The Steelers sent Fitzpatrick and a 2027 fifth-round pick to the Dolphins for cornerback Jalen Ramsey, tight end Jonnu Smith, and a 2027 seventh-round pick. By most NFL observers' accounts, this is not the greatest deal for Fitzpatrick. He goes from a legitimate playoff-contending team to one with marginal hope of playing meaningful games in December. As for Eric Edholm, he seemed to think it could go either way for Fitzpatrick, according to 'Perhaps this is a full-circle moment for Fitzpatrick,' Edholm wrote. 'Over the past few years, he hasn't seemed to make quite as many game-changing plays as he once did, and he was shoehorned into more nickel duty in Pittsburgh. He'll have a lot on his plate in Miami, and the Super Bowl might be farther away than it was for him with the Steelers.' Dolphins safety Minkah Fitzpatrick will bounce back After picking off 17 passes over four years from 2019-2022, Fitzpatrick had just over the last two seasons. That should change in Miami First, he'll likely spend more time deep, giving him extra opportunities to react to off-kilter passes, according to Ben Solak said he expects Fitzpatrick to play primarily at free safety. 'This is almost certainly where the Dolphins need him, as Jevon Holland and Jordan Poyer departed in free agency,' Solak wrote. 'And only stopgap options, Ashtyn Davis and Ifeatu Melifonwu, were signed in free agency to replace them. 'Fitzpatrick, who will turn 29 this season, struggled with his range, reads, and tackling from deep last season. And it's worth wondering if he can continue to play 90% of his snaps as a roaming, deep-middle player. The Dolphins are betting that he can.' Look for Fitzpatrick's interception total to reach three or four in 2025. Also, his contract situation comes into play in terms of motivation. 'If Fitzpatrick becomes a rock for that secondary, he could land another extension,' Edholm wrote. 'Perhaps even before he turns 30 years old next fall, when he'll be heading into the final year of his current deal.' Safety Minkah Fitzpatrick will fall short of Pro Bowl After three straight years in the Pro Bowl, Fitzpatrick will fall short in 2025. It will be harder for him to make a splashy impact for a defense that will have trouble stopping other teams. Also, look for Fitzpatrick's tackle total to drop because the Dolphins will use him in different ways. Overall, it looks like the Dolphins will have trouble staying close to the .500 mark. That will not hurt Fitzpatrick's chances of making big plays, but also make it more difficult for him to be motivated — especially late in the season. If the Dolphins fall out of contention and look for a reboot, Fitzpatrick is the type of player who could help them gain draft assets. Because the Dolphins likely aren't going to be competing for a Super Bowl title any time soon, Fitzpatrick might want to look at the return to his former team as a short-stay situation. Fitzpatrick might even be playing for a team other than the Dolphins before the 2025 season is over. Jalen Ramsey breaks news of his own Steelers-Dolphins trade
The post Jalen Ramsey breaks news of his own Steelers-Dolphins trade appeared first on ClutchPoints. With all the trade buzz surrounding cornerback Jalen Ramsey, the Miami Dolphins have finally made the trade as the star is being dealt to the Pittsburgh Steelers, according to the player himself on X, formerly Twitter. While it seemed that the speculation around the Steelers and Ramsey was shot down, the result looks different as the team now prepares for the upcoming season. The return for Ramsey is an interesting one, to say the least, as Pittsburgh dealt Minkah Fitzpatrick, as he will be returning to the team in Miami that drafted him 11th overall in the 2018 NFL Draft, per Adam Schefter of ESPN. Moments after the news broke that Ramsey would be traded to the Steelers, details around the trade started to unfold, including that Dolphins tight end Jonnu Smith is also heading to Pittsburgh. Tom Pelissero of NFL Network laid out the full details: 'Dolphins have agreed to trade CB Jalen Ramsey, TE Jonnu Smith, and a 2027 7th-round pick to Pittsburgh in exchange for S Minkah Fitzpatrick and a 2027 5th-round pick,' Pelissero posted on X. Ian Rapoport of NFL Network would report that Ramsey's adjusted contract 'includes a $1.5M raise in 2025, making his salary $26.6M this year.' Besides Pittsburgh, Raporport would report that the Los Angeles Rams, Ramsey's former team, were a finalist. Jalen Ramsey is one of many impact players the Steelers have added While people were predicting which teams would land Ramsey, there was still some hope from fans and even players that he would stay with the Dolphins. One of them was star wide receiver Tyreek Hill, who said at Fanatics Fest that he would try to convince the cornerback to stay in Miami, though as Monday's events have transpired, it didn't work. 'I'm going to hang out with Ramsey next week,' Hill said at Fanatics Fest on Sunday. 'I'm going to hit him back, full-court press, I'm getting Ramsey back in a Dolphins jersey, I don't care what they say, tampering, whatever. We need Ramsey. He's a dawg, he's one of the best corners in the league, a great leader, and a great teammate too … We just need him on the Dolphins.' It's no doubt been a busy offseason for Pittsburgh thus far, as on top of signing quarterback Aaron Rodgers and acquiring wide receiver D.K. Metcalf, the team now adds Ramsey and Smith to reinforce each side of the ball.
