The wild step Cameron Heyward would take to prevent Steelers from trading T.J. Watt
The Steelers defensive end said Wednesday, in a tongue-in-cheek way, that if he caught wind that a trade was going to occur that he would go up to the GM and tell him, 'That's not happening.'
'If there's even a trade that gets up there, I don't think it helps our team to trade a guy like that,' Heyward said during an appearance on the 'Rich Eisen Show.'

Heyward appeared on Wednesday's show with WWE wrestler Seth Rollins, who was hosting alongside Chris Brockman.
The Steelers' defensive end broke into laughter when Rollins followed up by asking if Heyward had the power to do that.
'No, no, I don't have that power,' he replied. 'I'd be like, guys, we have to have a talk. I don't know if it's even going to work, but I'm gonna throw my hat in the ring and say this cannot happen.'
Talks have continued to drag on over a contract extension for Watt, though it's expected he will end up getting a deal that will surpass an annual average value of $40 million.

The Steelers also reportedly did their due diligence in inquiring about Watt's trade value.
'Man, that's my brother,' Heyward added. 'I want [Watt] to get paid what he deserves. That dude is one of the most fierce and best players in our league. And he's respected throughout the league. I've had the best time being able to play with him, and I hope this year is not the last time we play together, because that dude, that's my running mate, and we create a lot of havoc together. And I just want to see that guy continue to be a Pittsburgh Steeler, and be a one-helmet guy.'
The Steelers are set to kick off training camp on July 24, and the picture should start to become clearer over what will happen with Watt.

Steelers' Jalen Ramsey makes NFL Top-100 list ahead of training camp
The Pittsburgh Steelers recognition tour keeps on rolling — as the Steel City's newest cornerback was just named to the NFL Top 100 List. On Wednesday, Steelers' three-time All-Pro CB Jalen Ramsey was ranked as the No. 66 player for the upcoming 2025 season — down 41 spots from his No. 21 ranking in 2024. Here is what NFL writer Christian Gonzalez had to say about Ramsey's selection: "Locking up opposing No. 1 wide receivers isn't the only thing Ramsey does well," Gonzalez wrote. "He locks in his eighth consecutive appearance on the Top 100 list. Ramsey appeared in every game in 2024 after missing nearly half of the 2023 season and continued his dominant ways in Year 9. In the offseason, he and the Dolphins mutually agreed to explore other options. Now, Ramsey will be wearing a new uniform in 2025 after Miami traded him to the Steelers in June." The Steelers acquired Ramsey, along with Pro Bowl TE Jonnu Smith, from the Miami Dolphins in exchange for a late-round pick swap and star FS Minkah Fitzpatrick. As the Steelers reported to training camp on Wednesday, HC Mike Tomlin couldn't help but praise Ramsey's versatility on defense — and it's expected he will play a part in replacing Fitzpatrick's presence at free safety. Dallas Cowboys Star Gushes Over New Addition George Pickens
Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. Heading into the 2025 season, the Dallas Cowboys are eager to return to prominence in the NFC. They made some notable roster upgrades in the offseason, and one key name seems to be fitting in just fine. Following a rocky tenure with the Pittsburgh Steelers, the Cowboys decided to roll the dice and trade for wide receiver George Pickens. Though the off-field drama is a cause for concern, his talent on the outside is undeniable. Dallas is hoping the change of scenery will do him well as he forms one of the NFL's top receiver duos. Through his first few days of training camp, Pickens seems to be fitting in with his new team. One player who is very excited to have him around is star receiver CeeDee Lamb. Following Wednesday's action, he had nothing but great things to say about his new partner. He knows I love him," Lamb told reporters. "I tell him every day that I'm happy for him. I hope we go together for X amount of years. I don't care. I just know we're not fitting to do this for (only) one." CeeDee Lamb on George Pickens: 'I'm glad he's here. He knows I love him. I tell him every day that I'm happy for him. "He's an incredible athlete, an incredible football player," Lamb continued. "His ability to go up and get the ball, you guys haven't seen it yet. But those days are literally coming. He's like a caged animal. And so am I." CeeDee Lamb on George Pickens: 'He's an incredible athlete, an incredible football player. His ability to go up and get the ball, you guys haven't seen it yet. However, that changed when Dallas decided to trade him to the Cleveland Browns in 2022. Now, Lamb once again has a viable running mate on the outside to help make life miserable for opposing defenses on a nightly basis. With Dak Prescott returning from injury, the Cowboys are sure to return to doing most of their offensive damage in the air. Before getting hurt, Prescott was putting up MVP-level numbers with Lamb as his primary target. Now armed with another dynamic receiver, he has more than enough firepower to put up big numbers in 2025. Entering a contract year, Pickens has a lot riding on this new chapter of his career. Based on Lamb's comments, he seems poised to change the narrative about him in the NFL. For more Dallas Cowboys and NFL news, head over to Newsweek Sports.

Jets' Justin Fields relieved this training camp has a completely different feel
Training camp has a different feel for Jets quarterback Justin Fields than it did a year ago. Instead of battling for the starting job, he knows the job is his. The Jets have said since Fields signed in March that he is the starter. It is a big difference from last year, when Fields was competing with Russell Wilson for the starting job with the Steelers. 'I think you don't have to worry about as much,' Fields said Wednesday after the first camp practice. 'You know, last year, like I said, it was kind of in a weird position, but I think, you don't have to do as much thinking and you kind of just know where you are and focus on getting better, focus on leading the team each and every day, so it's just not as much other stuff going around, so it's good.' Quarterback Justin Fields talks with the media during the first day of Jets training camp on July 23, 2025. Bill Kostroun / New York Post Fields invited some of his teammates to Florida in the break between the spring program and training camp to work out together. He said it was important to get their timing down, but also to get to know his new teammates. Coach Aaron Glenn praised Fields' consistency. Justin Fields throws a pass during the Jets' first training camp practice. Bill Kostroun / New York Post 'Listen, he's as consistent as it is,' Glenn said. 'The way that he operates in OTAs is the same way he's going to operate in training camp. The thing is, you can see that he is improving, he understands he's our guy, but he also understands that he has to work for it, too. Just because you're our guy doesn't mean that you [don't] have a job to do and the guy behind you isn't going to compete for the job either.' The Jets signed WR Garrett Wilson and CB Sauce Gardner to four-year extensions last week, even though Glenn has not coached them in a game yet. 'Then, just being around them. I'm a pretty good judge of character as far as knowing who a guy is and just being around them for a little bit and how they operate and how they respond to certain things. Those two guys, they're our foundational players. I'm glad that we got the deals done because I want them here for a long time.' The Jets signed OL Samuel Jackson. … They activated LB Aaron Smith from the NFI list.
