Yango's delivery robots are now bringing meals to select Expo City Dubai offices during a four-month pilot program.
May 06, 2025
Lunch at Expo City Dubai just got a little more futuristic. Yango Group has launched a fleet of autonomous food delivery robots, now gliding quietly around Al Wasl 3 office building as part of a four-month pilot programme.
Through the Expo City Eats app, the robots deliver meals from select cafés and restaurants directly to offices—no human courier needed. Guided by AI, high-definition maps, and real-time sensors, the bots weave around people, cars, and stray obstacles, all while staying on schedule and emission-free. Rain or shine, they keep moving.
For now, their route is limited to Al Wasl Plaza, but if the pilot proves successful, Yango plans to expand across Expo City.
Built on the legacy site of Expo 2020, Expo City has become a testing ground for emerging technologies. With Yango's arrival, its smart city ambitions now include a dash of sci-fi—where your next sandwich might just roll up on six wheels, perfectly on time and without saying a word.

Yango Ads Wins Silver at SMARTIES MENA for ‘Journey into Her Story' Campaign - Middle East Business News and Information

Yango Ads Wins Silver at SMARTIES MENA for 'Journey into Her Story' Campaign Dubai, UAE, 26 May 2025 – Yango Ads, the Ad Tech division of Yango Group, a global tech company, has won the Silver award in the Real-Time Marketing category at the MMA MENA SMARTIES™ 2025 for its campaign 'Journey into Her Story,' created in partnership with Al-Futtaim Toyota, Memac Ogilvy and PHD Media MENA. Launched to commemorate Emirati Women's Day last year, the campaign transformed a typical navigation experience into a platform for cultural discovery by spotlighting the lives, contributions and legacies of Emirati women who have streets named in their honour across the UAE. The project invited users to engage with UAE heritage through Yango Maps, using branded pins, banners, 3D objects, and audio narratives to surface the stories behind iconic street names such as Latifa Bint Hamdan Street. The campaign recorded over 1.8 million banner impressions, reached more than 200,000 unique users, and saw 668,000 impressions from search menu icons. Interactive 3D objects alone generated over 155,000 impressions with a strong 2.5% click-through rate (CTR), while push notifications achieved an exceptional CTR of 5%. With Bassem Yousri, Head of Agency Partnership at Yango Ads MEA, leading the campaign's execution, the project's success demonstrated the platform's ability to deliver precise, context-aware advertising that resonates with local audiences. 'Our goal was to make advertising feel less like an interruption and more like a discovery,' said Evgenii Pavlov, General Manager at Yango Ads MEA. 'As the UAE's digital advertising market is set to exceed $8 billion in 2025 , brands are seeking smarter, more impactful ways to cut through the noise. Through geo-ads, we're enabling brands to reach people in real-time, making each journey more engaging and relevant. For our team and our partners, this recognition validates our belief that advertising should not only perform well, but it should add value to the user experience and reflect the community it speaks to.' Yuliya Kim, Head of Partnerships at Yango Ads MEA, highlighted the importance of creative and strategic alignment: 'This campaign represents what's possible when storytelling and data work together. We want to build a bridge between brands and the communities they serve, and create impact in the real world. The response, both in terms of user engagement and now industry recognition, reinforces that audiences want more than impressions. They want experiences that matter.' Yango Ads entered this campaign from a strong foundation, having already established a robust portfolio of advertising solutions within its ecosystem. From Geo Ads, Retail Media, App Monetization, to its in-house creative bureau, Yango Ads Campaigns, the company has steadily equipped brands with the tools to monetise space and attention in smarter ways. The introduction of geo-ads, as showcased in this award-winning campaign, marked a major leap forward in delivering location-aware messaging to help brands boost visibility as users navigate their surroundings. The Silver win at the MMA MENA SMARTIES™ 2025 reflects a growing track record of innovation for Yango Ads. With operations across 30+ countries, access to 50,000 websites, and integration with over 20,000 apps, the platform empowers brands with AI-driven tools and more than 600 targeting options. From Expo 2020 Dubai to Expo 2025 Osaka, Dubai's legacy continues - Middle East Business News and Information

Her Excellency Reem Al Hashimy, UAE Minister of State for International Cooperation and CEO of Expo City Dubai Authority, headed a delegation from Expo City Dubai on a visit to Expo 2025 Osaka aimed at building on the success of the initiatives and programmes launched at the World Expo in Dubai. The two-day trip included a visit to the UAE Pavilion, where Her Excellency met volunteers and the pavilion team, as well as meetings with representatives of the Bureau International des Expositions (BIE) – the World Expo governing body. Under the theme 'Earth to Ether', the UAE Pavilion offers an immersive multisensory journey that showcases the UAE's leadership in space exploration, sustainable innovation and human-centered healthcare. It has proved popular among visitors, welcoming more than 250,000 visitors in the first two weeks of the Expo alone. Her Excellency Reem Al Hashimy said: 'As the UAE Pavilion at Expo 2025 Osaka invites visitors on a journey from 'Earth to Ether,' it echoes the spirit of Expo 2020 Dubai, celebrating our nation's incredible transformation and highlighting our bold vision for collective progress. It was an honour to meet the pavilion team, volunteers and visitors, and I congratulate everyone involved in this grand spectacle of hope and ingenuity.' Her Excellency also gave a keynote address at the inauguration of the Expo 2025's Women's Pavilion – an inspiring opening ceremony that drew from, and built upon, the legacy of the Women's Pavilion at Expo 2020. The Osaka Women's Pavilion in collaboration with Cartier honours the past – retaining the manifesto of 'when women thrive, humanity thrives' from Expo 2020 and repurposing the façade from the Japan Pavilion in Dubai – and delves into the critical intersections of planet, business and technology, education, and policy, as well as arts and culture. The physical and thematic connection between the two World Expos is unprecedented, underscoring the global imperative to work together for a better and more equal future Her Excellency Reem Al Hashimy said: 'At Expo 2020 Dubai, the creation of the Women's Pavilion was a defining moment – a statement of intent, declaring that women's contributions are a vital force shaping humanity's path forward and a platform for all to be a part of that journey. Here in Japan, we see a bold evolution of what began in Dubai, embodying both continuity and innovation. The Women's Pavilion in Osaka continues the purposeful collaboration to ensure the legacy of Expo 2020 lives on, and that new global commitments and coalitions will endure well into the future.' Expo 2020 Dubai was the first World Expo since the 1900s to have a standalone pavilion dedicated to women and the integral role they play in society. Reflecting the weight placed on gender equality and women's empowerment, its legacy city, Expo City Dubai, retained the Women's Pavilion, which continues to serve as a hub for dialogue, innovation and collaboration. Expo City Dubai and Yango Group launch autonomous food delivery - Middle East Business News and Information

Yango Group, a global tech company, has launched a pilot program for autonomous robot-powered food delivery at Expo City Dubai. The delivery service will enhance convenience for Expo City's employees, residents, and visitors while advancing Dubai's smart city vision. Seamlessly blending into smart city environments, the last-mile autonomous robots will be delivering meals from select cafés and restaurants to Expo City's main office in Al Wasl Plaza during a four-month pilot program. The robots independently plan their routes, maneuver around obstacles, and give way to pedestrians, while navigating urban areas with precision using AI. 'We are thrilled to collaborate with Expo City Dubai on this pilot program. Its clearly defined zones provide a perfectly controlled environment to safely and efficiently test autonomous technologies. In line with Expo City's vision as a blueprint for future cities, our robots combine cutting-edge AI technology and sustainable last-mile delivery practices to elevate daily life in smart communities,' said Nikita Gavrilov, Regional Head, Yango Tech Autonomy. Using high-definition maps and an array of sensors, delivery robots plan routes in real time and avoid pedestrians, vehicles, and static obstacles, even in low-light conditions or adverse weather. Powered by electricity, the robots produce zero emissions and operate more quietly than traditional delivery vehicles. 'Expo City is a testbed for bold breakthroughs in technology and innovation, with its Urban Lab providing an open city-wide space to pilot and scale solutions needed for future human-centric cities. Urban Lab lowers barriers to innovation, rigorously testing solutions and preparing markets to adopt impactful, sustainable technologies. Testing Yango Group's autonomous delivery robots at Expo City is one of many ways that our Urban Lab is setting the standard for cities of the future,' said Dr Amy Hochadel, Vice President – Urban Lab, Expo City Dubai. This initiative expands Yango Tech — Yango Group's B2B ecosystem — and enhances its portfolio of AI-powered enterprise solutions, reinforcing the company's commitment to delivering cutting-edge, tech-driven innovations for businesses worldwide. Currently, the pilot program is available exclusively for deliveries to the Al Wasl 3 office building. Users can order meals through the Expo City Eats app, which facilitates food delivery services across the city, and Yango Group's robots will deliver from four restaurants to a designated point in the office. Upon successful completion of the pilot, the service is expected to expand and deliver from more Expo City restaurants to all residents and commercial tenants in a full commercial rollout.
