In a fresh development surrounding actor Jennifer Aniston's stalking case, the accused, Jimmy Wayne Carwyle, has been deemed mentally incompetent to stand trial. The decision was taken by the Los Angeles County mental health court after a second opinion about Carwyle by the psychiatrist. The court reached the same conclusion as earlier, believing that Carwyle's mental state does not allow him to respond to the felony charges of vandalism and stalking.
This means all the current charges, along with the proceedings against the offender, have been suspended for now. 'The court finds the defendant is not currently competent to stand trial. Criminal proceedings will remain suspended," said Judge Maria Cavalluzzi.
Earlier last week, the second opinion was sought by the public defender following the evaluation of the Mississippi man being 'incompetent to stand trial." Carwyle continues to plead not guilty, even after appearing for his third hearing. While he previously appeared with bare shoulders, wrapped in a blanket-like smock meant for suicide prevention, the third hearing saw him in the bright yellow county jail outfit. With the trial paused, the hearing moved to allow Carwyle to begin a routine of medication for his condition. If convicted on the charges, he could have been given up to three years in prison.
Meanwhile, the judge has also ordered more comprehensive mental evaluations to help determine where and how the defendant will be held and the details of his treatment. The judge has asked for the report on the results at a June 26 hearing, where Aniston or her attorney will present their side of the case.

Earlier this month, Jimmy Wayne Carwyle, of New Albany, Mississippi, was accused of crashing his car through the gates of Aniston's home in Los Angeles. Carwyle was also charged with stalking and vandalism. Jennifer Aniston's attorney claimed that he had repeatedly sent her voicemail, email, and social media messages for over two years.
As per reports, the collision caused major damage to the property, and the actress was present at home at the time. One of her security guards stopped him in the driveway and informed the police. Later on, the court ordered Carwyle to keep a safe distance from Aniston. 'You are not to have any contact with Jennifer Aniston under any conditions," the judge said in a previous hearing.
